Maybe I should take a shot at being a villain... Hm, who knows! Here's a link to the music I orchestrated for this video if you're interested :) th-cam.com/video/gZPGTKt2Zhc/w-d-xo.html
Flowey: It's KILL OR BE KILLED!!! Frisk: Flowey, have a snickers. Flowey: WHY? Frisk: You're not you when you're hungry. (Flowey eats Snickers) Frisk: Better? Asriel: Better.
Determination is a force that can go either way: One can be -Determined- to set things right, and cause no harm (Pacifist) One can also be -Determined- to bring everything to an end (Genocide) I thought the message therein was obvious: "Sheer Willpower is a force that can do anything, so long as one never gives up." What got to me while playing Undertale was that certain monsters could retain recollection of past events; namely Asgore... You can confront him about the fact that he's killed you before (if you die), and he acknowledges it... It made me really wonder if the defeated humans got to him, and fought until they simply gave up. I also believe Flowey is an analogue to the player behind the screen, one who has 'seen it all, and grown bored' (which would lead to said person possibly committing grossly reprehensible acts, because 'they can't feel anymore for the characters' and 'it might be fun to see something new'... Which, given the context of being able to 'reset' and erase that damage... seems to seethe with malicious intent already...
@@Vogelgangg .... monster with determination like the amalgam who cry out of sadness for her son? The almagate who pat your head affectinaly while covering you with a sheet? The dogs full of exitment for a new friend to play with?
Open your eyes people, the villain of the UT world is the annoying dog, aka Toby Fox. Think about this, a small Pomeranian managed to create a world by randomly barking, if I'm not mistaken, right? (based on the secret room at the end of the game). Fair enough, this alone doesn't make him a villain at all, but think about this, the annoying dog upsets the player's path by constantly making the game more difficult and creates trouble for the characters: steals Toriel's phone, randomly appears to destroy Papyrus's special attack, and most importantly, STEALS THE ARTEFACT (which for all we know, could contain the cure to cancer, or the cure to Flowey's soullessness). Notice how the dog intervenes at certain points in the game to create a mess for everything. I hardly doubt that this small pup named Toby Fox is as innocent of a dog as he looks. I truly think this creature is hiding something; thus is more mysterious than Gaster. Also if this annoying dog is as omnipotent as it looks ( and he objectively is omnipotent because he managed to give you infinite residue after all), then why doesn't that same dog prevent the player from fully committing Genocide (where it would make more sense for it to intervene), or more importantly, if it is so powerful, IT SHOULD HAVE PREVENTED THE WAR OF MONSTERS AND MANKIND FROM EVER TAKING PLACE TO BEGIN WITH. But nah, the dog just fucks with everyone, doesn't he? :P Annoying Dog= Toby= Itanimulli= More Evil than Chara or the player! Triangle confirmed!
Papyrus would be like reading this NYEHEHEHEHEHEHHEEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHHEHEEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHHEEHEEHEEHEHHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEEHEHEHHEHEEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHHHEHEH
Also I hv also heard of another theory that suggests that WD Gaster is actually a representation of Toby Fox as well, just like the annoying dog is and that the annoying dog is a form Gaster uses to travel around the Underground. And wht makes this theory more interesting is that we in fact see Gaster’s face on a book in the room where the annoying dog is.
@@storyswapchara9007 Lmao idk if you're joking but *Glitchtale isn't canon people* And even Chara full hate wasn't that evil compared to the fear thot.
@@eaterbattery and canonically Chara isn’t even evil, he makes jokes on the pacifist route as the narrator, and helps you save asriel with his memories
Caitlin McAlroy Because it's a game, you can do a hack... you can don't reset LIKE ME i'm not doing a genocide, just another pacifist, anyways they aren't real. (MAYBE O.O) -_-
Determination can be used for both good and evil. Yes, it was what allowed you to do the genocide, but it's also what allowed you to survive Asriel's final attack in the pacifist run. Maybe it depends on how much self control the player has.
i might have a theory That Determination Is What Turnd chara And flowey And frisk Evil For Chara charas Determination Might have been corruption by HATE the goop we see coming out of charas Eyes As for flowey Determination Drove flowey insane cause its what caused him To save and reload in the first place And for Frisk in pacifist It saves frisk from Asriels Blast Determination in Genocide aloud Charas Determination and soul To corrupt Frisk And Determination caused the Genocide off all monsters
So this is my opinion to the whole "Chara isn't evil" discussion.
Well Chara... That's a complex topic. I wouldn't say that Chara is pure evil and he/she is definitly not the main villain of the genocide route but i wouldn't say that Chara is jesus reinkarnation either. He/she is what Asriel tells us "not the nicest person". Chara isn't black or white. He/she walks in this small line i would call grey. I'm not a person that blames Chara for the whole genocide think. I think that is the same thing as calling Asriel a crazy murderer for the things he has done when he was Flowey. Although here comes this littel hole where we aren't able to tell things for sure: Chara and Asriel accidently poisened the cake for Asgore. Chara just laugh over it (If i remember right how he/she reacted) This could be a way of Chara to hide his/her feeling of guilt or Chara might has really found that funny. we can't say that for sure. When Asriel and Chara were in the village Chara wanted to kill the humans. There are many possible reasons why he/she wanted that. 1: Chara doesn't wanted Asriel to die. 2: Chara wanted to kill them so they could get the seven souls to free the monsters. 3: Chara just hated humanity so much that they just wanted to kill all of them and didn't even want to stop there. Now here comes the thing: We can't really say why he/she reacted like he/she did. As long that there is no proof to that we can't really say for sure if Chara is A: completly innocent B: Just a kid who would kill someone to save the monsters or C: A crazy kid who wanted to destroy humanity. And even IF Chara came out to be a C i would not blame them for it. If Chara is a C than he/she is just what megalovania tells us. A megalomaniac. A person with an obsessiv dessire for power. A person who goes crazy if you only feed them with enough power. Would it make him/her in that case completly innocent? No. Would it excuse all the things that would have happened if Chara really would have destroyed humanity back there? NO. But at least i would say that it kind off makes him/her a littel, just a littel bit more innocent in all this. That's why i would say that Chara is in the grey zone. To everyone who has read this far i must advice you to think further. There isn't just black and white. There are many shades of grey (... That can't be normal english i talk here -_-) So please, just watch the next topics you discuss from all different sides. Sorry if my english is bad. It isn't my first language
Everybody in undertale isn’t black and white, Toriel basically kidnaps you, papyrus throws bones at you then locks you in a dogshed, undyne tries to kill you, mettaton also does, alphys caused the lasers to stop you, Asgore caused the death of 6 humans (2 who probably were innocent I.e kindness and justice) and asriel who killed people as Flowey, I would just call Chara good, as good as anyone else.
So now that we've discussed chara, let's discuss frisk We cannot tell if frisk is really the one in control or not during the genocide (by that I mean the player not chara) so we have no idea who/what leads frisk the way they act. Are options are A:Frisk is the one doing this no hesitation and the players actions are irrelevant B:You the player are still the one doing things such as genocide bur frisk is still involved as they does not try to stop you C: it's you. You as the player are responsible for frisks actions and are in complete control While I lean a little more to C it is completely unknown if frisk is aware and in control of their actions and if you the player matter
I'll be staying away from yellow save points that fill me with DETERMINATION for a while! What do you think? Do you agree? Let me know in the comments! If you particularly enjoyed this episode, please like the Reddit post! www.reddit.com/r/Undertale/comments/63mvpu/who_is_the_real_villain_of_undertale_undertale/
Daniel Whiting well, think about it, how many of the humans gave themselves to the monsters? Maybe they had the determination to reset, but they didn't because they supported the monster's cause?
I actually don't think that determination is the "villain" of Undertale. The best analogy I can come up with is the Force from Star Wars. Determination is a lot like the Force, where it is a medium through which good or evil intent can be expressed. Even though determination isn't an actual character in Undertale, wouldn't it still break the pattern of ambiguity if we were to label determination as pure evil? No one in Undertale is wholly good or evil, and I don't think determination is either. The Force can be used to heal or cast lightning, and determination can be used to free monster-kind or wipe it off the face of the planet. Determination is not an evil force by itself. It's the intent of the user. Through the will of the player, determination can either be purified or corrupted. It's entirely up to them. Don't worry, I still enjoy your videos even if I disagree sometimes! :)
"Beware of the MAN who speaks in hands." "Beware of the MAN who came from the other world." there are only THREE sprites in the game that have MAN in their names... Mystery man Watching man Every man
Request: A video on how Undyne and Flowey are related in some way shape or form. (semi spoiler warning) Reasoning: • In Undyne's fight, the dialogue, "Pollon surrounds the area" (or something related to that) appears • They both share similar quotes - for instance - "You're gonna have to try harder than THAT!" (quote present in both Undyne the Undying's battle and in the True Pacifist Route right before flowey attempts to kill you). Another quote from the Undying's batlle would be "All our hearts are beating as one and we all have one goal" which Asriel also quotes im the end. Both characters also consistantly say "DIE." • Omega Flowey's sculpted out appearance is shown in the True Lab. A Lab owned by Alphys, a character whom posseses a close relationship with Undyne. Those are just some thoughts though. Maybe look into it?
GRANTED THE HuMAN TOBY FOX WORKED ON BOTH uNDERTALE AND HOMESTuCK, MAKING MuSIC FOR BOTH AND CREATING THE FORMER. ALTHoUGH THE ONLY THING HE MADE THAT IS OF QuALITY IS HALF OF THE CHERuBIM ALBuM.
I think the true villain is you because you decide if you kill or not. you have the power to the save and reset and other monsters don't have that power.Chara wasn't the one doing this you were..it was you the whole time...Many people blame flowey for this but after he was killed by the humans and was soulless having no compassion.
You. Not Frisk, not Chara, not even Flowey. It's you. You reset. You kill. You play with the characters. Because it's just a game to you... and it is a game ;-;
Freddy Online Exactly! That's his point! Determination itself is the villain, and determination is, to all intents and purposes, us. The thing that pushes Frisk, the thing that keeps them coming back etc. So your comment is just a different way of looking at the idea in the episode. Wait, did yoy even watch the episode before commenting?
Funny thing Undertale also mentions no normal human can posses the power of magic, only monsters have magic but then goes to say there were magicians. Kind of Wonder if these monsters were instead betrayed by other monsters that resembled or took form of humans? If we were to look at classic monsters as an example such as Dracula/vampires, witches/warlocks, demons, werewolves/werecats and so forth these are all monsters that go back to ancient times, harvesting powers, doing evil, and can take human form or mind control and posses other humans. Were there no monsters that might have abused their powers that led to the war among humans? as humans wouldn't have known about their powers of extracting souls unless they were there to witness it and neither would they fear the monsters powers unless they were caught abusing them.
True villain is Toby Fox, he created every copy of the game and also made it possible for the player to kill.He also programmed and sprited every code and sprite that details the monster's suffering.
I think you got really close with this idea. There's one more character in the story that you never consider, though rarely anyone does. US. The player. The player is a key component in the story and I think that's ultimately what Toby Fox was getting at with this game. We, the players, are the true villains of the story, because we are the ones who won't let the other characters have their happy ending. Our curiosity, determination, and boredom prevents the Underground from having it's true pacifist ending, since what do we all do after doing a true pacifist ending? We reset the timeline and start killing everyone. Maybe after that we go back to the true pacifist ending, but even then we never get the satisfaction we got initially, our curiosity doomed everyone in the end, and we the players took away the happy ending.
Undertale is a unique game that expands from its own code. If you chose to be a mod developer you are choosing the role of a god in Undertale. If you just play the game normally you are frisk, playing the game by modifying the files turns you into a demon capable of dealing infinite damage, but still cant alter the timeline so much the game actually functions different. Undertale is linked to the real world in many ways, and thus evil is linked to our world as well.
Determination alone is bad. But in pacifist, does Frisk really just show determination? You can use determination to show kindness, integrity, bravery, justice and perseverance. Frisk literally and meterphorically does that XD
The true main villan of the undertale universe it's our determination to do everything that can be done ignoring if someone can gets hurt or even killed or erased from existence
Determination is kinda like the force from Star Wars. "...it can be used for good..." Like the force, determination is a natural force that both good and bad people use.
the picture of the creepy face you showed gave me the idea of my story WORLDTALE, the main character is my OC, Jason, a half-human half-monster hybrid due to inheriting that trait from his ancestors. The main antagonist is the world destroyer, a malevolent and mysterious being that feeds on death, war, famine, and conquest, and wants to devour everyone and everything. the deuteragonists are a group dedicated to stopping the world destroyer, mainly consisting of Gaster, Asriel, Chara, Sans, Alyphs, Frisk, and the recently revived six humans. However, the world destroyer has allies of its own, one them is Maxwell, a bored young man who wanted a much higher meaning than he had in his life. will Jason and his friends stop the world destroyer?
Humans make an entire species extinct just because they can Humans are animals, but they think they're above animals. The human community ruined games (FNAF & Minecraft) I see why Chara hated humanity
Did...did you just call Frisk Asgore's wife around @8:22 ? That's... a ship I that comes completely out of left field unless you look at raintaker's dating trash frisk comics.
I found out after MANY times replaying that moment that EVEN the closed captions (which has been on point claims) says "And his wife Frisk...". I repeat, I checked the captions after listening to it raw to make sure I heard that right for clarity.
I'm the Best Villain Everyone of my kind looks up to me. Even when I'm almost defeated. Villains don't give up until they're dead. But am I the villain everyone thinks I am? Now replace villain with hero and read it again.
It's giygas. Undertale takes place in the same world as earthbound and Mount Ebbot is actually Mount Itoi. You can even heae giygas breathing at the barrier which shows his presence in the mountain. Because giygas is kept in Mount Itoi his evil influence spreads throughout the living beings of the mountain. In Earthbound giygas' evil causes inanimate objects and animals to attack Ness. In Mother 3 Pokey turned evil due to giygas' influence thus leading to the events of Mother 3. The Chara seen at the end of the genocide route may very well be an embodiment of giygas speaking through the body of Chara especially because the player is near the barrier at the end of the genocide route. The magic the monsters and humans use are psy which was taught to humans by giygas' race which was giygas' motivation to exterminate humanity in mother 1. Just a disclaimer I do not believe in the Sans is Ness theory, it can be easily debunked, however I feel like its implied that Earthbound and Undertale are in the same world or is a fanmade spinoff especially since undertale started developement as another earthbound Rom hack made by Toby possibly a sequel to the halloween rom hack. So I do feel as if it would make sense that the evil force in undertale is giygas.
I always figured 'chara' was a shortening of 'character', and thus, should be pronounced 'Kara' but each to their own. I wouldn't dare claim my way is any more correct than any others
I'm late to the party, but from watching your video, something occurred to me. The six souls all represent something, a virtue - namely, Patience, Bravery, Integrity, Perseverance, Kindness, and Justice. Chara and Frisk both have red souls - the trait is "Unknown." However, one may assume that the trait is Determination. From our knowledge of humans, these should have had the same strength of soul that Frisk had at the beginning. However, unlike Frisk, they all died. We can surmise that Perseverance is not the same as Determination, they are separate forces. So it is not Patience, Bravery, Integrity, Perseverance, Kindness, or Justice that sees Frisk through the Underground, but Determination. This may imply that Determination is something other than the forces the other souls used.
4 true villain theories 1. YOU the player is the true villain dont really have to explain this 2. SANS is the true villain of the pre story and practically caused chara to be able to erase (genocide) 3. GASTER is the main villain to complex to put here 4. my personal fav ANNOYING DOG is the true villain as they created all the events I would say the most probable are dog and you
Whoever it is, the true villain is not Asgore, and never will. To me, this game doesn't have any 'real' antagonists. It depends on what you do in the game. If you do pacifist, there are enemys but no real antoganists. But if you do the Genocide path, YOU, the player yourself is the true villain
Ooh, very interesting! I honestly expected the villain to be a character, rather than a character trait. It's an idea that I haven't heard before, and I'm pleasantly surprised! And I quite agree ^_^ Yet I do have a thought, one which you did mention in the video. Firstly, consider the common quote, "Money is the root of all evil." Some people have taken a second look at it and noticed that it isn't necessarily true. Both because it's technically a misquote, and also because money can be used for very good things as well as bad. The misquote takes a jab at the substance, rather than the misuse of said substance. More accurately, "The love of money is the root of all evil." Similarly, would it be necessarily true to call Determination the villain of Undertale? I'm wondering if the same notion applies, that Determination isn't necessarily an evil substance/trait. You did touch upon this subject in the video, and I just wanted to perhaps expand upon it, if that's alright. Sans even asks the player in the "church" (I'm not sure if it's a church or not...) if you kill Papyrus, that if someone possessed a power such as Determination, that that someone is obligated to use it to save as many people as they can. Like you said, in the Pacifist Route, so much good can come about if the player decides to use their Determination for the good of the citizens of the Underground. Plainly, Determination can be used for good as well as bad. Only when it is meddled with-such as when Alphys injects monsters with it without justification, or misused-such as when Flowey uses it to kill people in different ways and in different combinations, that it brings about destruction. So would it be more accurate to say that, "The misuse or lust for Determination is the villain of Undertale"? (Or did I just basically describe "Megalomania" on accident? Whoops...) I dunno. XP Thoughts? (By the way, awesome video! :D I really enjoyed it! And I apologize, I didn't mean to write an essay -_- lol)
In my opinion I don't think a human soul was ever intentionally absorbed before the war, it might have been an accident and when the monster absorbed the soul, they were overwhelmed with power and may have destroyed a lot of things (I think that Asriel took that power so well since he is likely a boss monster)
I'm wondering why he never mentions how Undyne suddenly overflows with determination, turning her into the "Heroine" and it ends up killing her any time you try to kill her.
I'm pretty sure the most evil is Us/Chara. Chara was the one controlling us,wait,I don't know. No,it's actually us It can't be Flowey,he's soulless The other characters aren't really evil Asgore isn't evil,he just wanted to avenge his 2 sons that died Toriel only wanted to keep you in the ruins because she was alone Papyrus? He only wanted to capture a human, not kill it Undyne? She wanted our soul,so she can break the barrier with the souls that are with Asgore Alphys? I don't even see any wrong to her lol Mettaton? She's a robot, but she isn't really a killer robot lol The other characters? Ehh they just think we are the enemy Sans? He is the judge. He judges everything we do,if we gain EXP and gain LOVE,yeah, that's Genocide Sans for you, *oof* So it's us. Chara became very Ill,and she died, and the humans thought Asriel killed her,so they attacked, and yeah, she died So it's us. Chara appears on the Genocide path, yes, but maybe because she wanted to revenge the humans for killing Asriel Yeah, but we control Frisk, and we can do Pacifist or Genocide, but Genocide is our fault So,it's obviously us,the player.
True villain is someone so deep in their ego and emotional trails, and stuff like that, they can't take side of a story of others, thinking they already know everything in infinite possibilities of Universe. Being true to yourself and others as opposite is to experience and express emotions and then decide agree you on them or disagree. Also if story of others can have something valuable for your improvement, it's important too, using best ideas and concepts with your worst is pretty smart thing for advanced enough people, even though it's amalgamate from monsters of concepts and ideas, but it's for the better if you know how . Facts don't matter, they are stored in other dimensions already. Better being true and democratic ( divine principle of Universe with problem of tyrant being able to abuse it) than some big corporations or something just will use facts and screw others because it's not what they trully needed , but can be a fact, that is not needed.
For those chara defense squad people. we get it. chara in your eyes are good, and we are the bad guys! now can't you just let people think that chara is evil? let us have our opinons instead of repeatedly saying, "#CHARADEFENSESQUAD" or, "CHARA DEFENSE SQUAD ATTTTTACK" like it's friggin world war 3.
5:08 No, Alphys says they lack the physical matter to hold Determination, as their bodies are made of magic. Also it seems humans can use magic, if they die in the process.
I'm sorry but well chara is no villian. Where is chara defense squad? I sugess judgement boy's video who is the real villian of undertale. no I don't hate underlab he just made it sound like chara is more evil. At least for me
*YOU* , yes *YOU* the player is the are the real villain Not Chara, not Frisk, or what you named the character *YOU* are the one that pressed the *FIGHT* button *YOU* reset *YOU* are the one that kill *EVERYTHING* *YOU* have the power to *SPARE* or *KILL* but *YOU* choose to *KILL* *YOU* are the real villain It wasn't King Asgore, Flowey, Chara, or even heck *JERRY* ! *YOU* are are the true monster
For you people who are constantly listing about what makes humans horrible creatures, you are actually discrimination humanity and therefore you are a hypocrite since you people are humans. Sure humans do bad things, but not all humans are bad. The entire point of Undertale is that the message when it comes to monsters is things like: 1.Being a different race(all monsters in the underground are all different) 2.Homeosexuality(Alphys and Undyne being lesbians) 3.Not saving much money(Ice-cream guy) 4.Dealing with guilt and the pain of being alone(Asgore and Toriel) And most importantly, feeling the need to commit suicide. Flowey/Asriel suffers worse of all, since he tried to kill himself but due to determination, he is still alive. I tried to commit suicide as well a long time ago, but for some reason I can't because something is always holding me back. So the monsters of the underground are actually metaphors for people who have been discriminated against and were thrown away due to our society with steriotypes or even harassment and murder. These monsters represent people who wanted a chance to live a happy life, but can't due to them seen as "not human" and that they were forced to live underground, which is a metaphor for how many people who go against social norms are told to go rot in Hell. These so-called "monsters" are not really monsters, but people who take the form of how they were seen as, monstrocities. So please, do yourself a favor and don't say anything against humans, especially since not all humans are what you say they are. Don't say bad things to people just because they like something and you don't. Don't harass someone just because they don't agree with you. And don't tell others to kill themselves just because these people are different.
Determination is just a nebulous concept, it's really all down to individuality of the player that determines what is evil. I have never played a genocide playthough of Undertale and only ever used the kitchen knife on asgore at the end of a neutral playthough, but didn't make the killing blow choosing to spare him, only for flowey to kill him.
Frisk also takes the credit for everything the player accomplishes has anyone notice this, you the player is always seen as the bad guy of the game no matter what. At the end of the pacifist route the game calls the character, the player named as the enemy and only cares about knowing Frisk's name as they were the hero. Even though the choices and the progress were all accomplished because the player made those decisions, they befriended the monsters, and brought peace to both the human and monster world. This is an RPG that seems focused on the players actions, it makes no sense for the character to have an official name since they have no control in what happens.
Frisk Isn't The Villain, YOU Are The Villain, Jacksepticeye In His Playthrough Is The Villain, Frisk Isn't The One Reseting, That Was YOUR And MY Choice, The PLAYER Is Ths Villain
"Detetrmination" is a bit like the blade you find within Asgore's house--the choices you make as a player determine how you see it. and how you use it. Used for good, it allows you to free all the monsters and return home; used recklessly or apathetically, it will bring unrelenting ruin.
Calling determination evil is like calling the force evil because it's used by Sith or calling sugar evil because to much can hurt you. A thing/force can't be evil, only the person/situation it's used in.
Also I believe you're missing the point. One of the main lessons you learn while playing Undertale is that no one is truly evil, and everyone deserves a second chance. This whole theroy goes aginst that lesson, and isn't that good
in the cutscene with the stuff about humans and monsters, did anyone else notice one of the humans that sealed the barrier (i think) looks somewhat like Kirs from Deltraune?
Maybe I should take a shot at being a villain... Hm, who knows!

One can also be -Determined- to bring everything to an end (Genocide)
I thought the message therein was obvious:

Wow
Papyrus would be like reading this NYEHEHEHEHEHEHHEEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHHEHEEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHHEEHEEHEEHEHHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEEHEHEHHEHEEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHHHEHEH
Triangle confirmed
Ok
Jinig
Yaaaayyy.

Yet it's all a game to you,

I finished my true pacifist route.
I haven't reset once to this day.
You fix your mistakes by reseting once. Other than that I agree.
Caitlin McAlroy Because it's a game, you can do a hack... you can don't reset LIKE ME i'm not doing a genocide, just another pacifist, anyways they aren't real. (MAYBE O.O) -_-
Caitlin McAlroy yes your'e right
Determination can be used for both good and evil.
Although here comes this littel hole where we aren't able to tell things for sure:
Chara and Asriel accidently poisened the cake for Asgore.
It’s not always black and white. But your heart always knows what’s right
Your English is actually rather good and you made some good points
Do you speak German? But I agree
So now that we've discussed chara, let's discuss frisk
We cannot tell if frisk is really the one in control or not during the genocide (by that I mean the player not chara) so we have no idea who/what leads frisk the way they act. Are options are
A:Frisk is the one doing this no hesitation and the players actions are irrelevant
B:You the player are still the one doing things such as genocide bur frisk is still involved as they does not try to stop you
C: it's you. You as the player are responsible for frisks actions and are in complete control
While I lean a little more to C it is completely unknown if frisk is aware and in control of their actions and if you the player matter
I'll be staying away from yellow save points that fill me with DETERMINATION for a while! What do you think? Do you agree? Let me know in the comments!

I love how 2 years after Undertale was released, we are still finding new things about it. =)
sorry but i really have to tell you (again) do the six humans get reincarnated as well as the monsters by azzie (asriel) in the pacifist route?
It doesn't say anywhere that it does... maybe they are but they just run away?
OrangeCreeper217 but then they could start up another war in fury
The force is a good analogy

Request: A video on how Undyne and Flowey are related in some way shape or form.
(semi spoiler warning)
Reasoning:
• In Undyne's fight, the dialogue, "Pollon surrounds the area" (or something related to that) appears
• They both share similar quotes - for instance - "You're gonna have to try harder than THAT!" (quote present in both Undyne the Undying's battle and in the True Pacifist Route right before flowey attempts to kill you). Another quote from the Undying's batlle would be "All our hearts are beating as one and we all have one goal" which Asriel also quotes im the end. Both characters also consistantly say "DIE."
• Omega Flowey's sculpted out appearance is shown in the True Lab. A Lab owned by Alphys, a character whom posseses a close relationship with Undyne.
Those are just some thoughts though. Maybe look into it?

The magicians could be darkners like in Deltarune.
The true villain is Toby for making this game very confusing

@@jacobalexanderleano1194 he's sleeping because he's tired after all the work he's done

I'd say the real villains of Undertale are: Flowey in the Neutral Route, Asriel in the Pacifist Route, and the player/Chara in the Genocide Route.
Just the player in genocide route and in pacifist route there really isn’t a villain, you don’t need a villain for a good story
In geno YOU the player teach Chara that Killing is good. They specifically state that.
Hey I have a vid idea "who is using the broken elevator?"

Whoever it is, the true villain is not Asgore, and never will. To me, this game doesn't have any 'real' antagonists. It depends on what you do in the game. If you do pacifist, there are enemys but no real antoganists. But if you do the Genocide path, YOU, the player yourself is the true villain
hello reader you are awesome and nice for reading this
I’m not nice
Ooh, very interesting! I honestly expected the villain to be a character, rather than a character trait. It's an idea that I haven't heard before, and I'm pleasantly surprised! And I quite agree ^_^
Yet I do have a thought, one which you did mention in the video.
More accurately, "The love of money is the root of all evil."
Similarly, would it be necessarily true to call Determination the villain of Undertale?
Whoops...)
I dunno.

Main enemy of pacifist and neutral routes: Flowey
Main enemy of genocide: Sans (or Chara)
It can't be Sans, as he is the one who goes against every instinct in his bones (que pun) to stop the genocidal human (you).
Actually its Frisk
I'm wondering why he never mentions how Undyne suddenly overflows with determination, turning her into the "Heroine" and it ends up killing her any time you try to kill her.
I'm pretty sure the most evil is Us/Chara.
Chara was the one controlling us,wait,I don't know.
No,it's actually us
It can't be Flowey,he's soulless
The other characters aren't really evil
Asgore isn't evil,he just wanted to avenge his 2 sons that died
Toriel only wanted to keep you in the ruins because she was alone
Papyrus? He only wanted to capture a human, not kill it
Undyne? She wanted our soul,so she can break the barrier with the souls that are with Asgore
Alphys? I don't even see any wrong to her lol
Mettaton? She's a robot,but she isn't really a killer robot lol
The other characters? Ehh they just think we are the enemy
Sans? He is the judge. He judges everything we do,if we gain EXP and gain LOVE,yeah, that's Genocide Sans for you, *oof*
So it's us. Chara became very Ill,and she died, and the humans thought Asriel killed her,so they attacked, and yeah, she died
So it's us. Chara appears on the Genocide path, yes, but maybe because she wanted to revenge the humans for killing Asriel
Yeah, but we control Frisk, and we can do Pacifist or Genocide, but Genocide is our fault
So,it's obviously us,the player.
Wait, maybe Alphys might be evil, but then she's actually just trying to get the Monsters to get Determination

Edit: Flowey/Asriel was just a PAWN!
So it was just malware
HOW MANY TIMES DID YOU SAY DETERMINATION IN THIS VIDEO
For those chara defense squad people. we get it. chara in your eyes are good, and we are the bad guys! now can't you just let people think that chara is evil? let us have our opinons instead of repeatedly saying, "#CHARADEFENSESQUAD" or, "CHARA DEFENSE SQUAD ATTTTTACK" like it's friggin world war 3.
5:08 No, Alphys says they lack the physical matter to hold Determination, as their bodies are made of magic. Also it seems humans can use magic, if they die in the process.
*yes I count the thing after the omega flowey fight*
I'm sorry but well chara is no villian. Where is chara defense squad?
I sugess judgement boy's video who is the real villian of undertale.
no I don't hate underlab he just made it sound like chara is more evil. At least for me
a͙l͙a͙l͙a͙ c͙h͙a͙n͙ CHARA DEFENCE SQUAD ATTACK
the most intense spear of justice remix is blasted in the background as we charge in our attack phase
it fills us with determination
Oh god not this again, you're overthinking it.
ggamer 43 // CHARA DEFENSE SQUAD... UNITE!
ggamer 43 dear god. its the anti tails abuse defense squad again... not this...
I know who the true villain is! It's Jerry
*YOU* , yes *YOU* the player is the are the real villain
Not Chara, not Frisk, or what you named the character
*YOU* are the one that pressed the *FIGHT* button
*YOU* reset
*YOU* are the one that kill *EVERYTHING*
*YOU* have the power to *SPARE* or *KILL* but *YOU* choose to *KILL*
*YOU* are the real villain
It wasn't King Asgore, Flowey, Chara, or even heck *JERRY* !
*YOU* are are the true monster
But there's a justification:
Jerry
He's a whole good reason to kill everyone
So true
the charaXpacifist ending (soulless pacifist ending) is just revenge of chara bcs of killing his sibling
Do you remember toriel said only one soul is needed to shatter the barrier
For you people who are constantly listing about what makes humans horrible creatures, you are actually discrimination humanity and therefore you are a hypocrite since you people are humans.
Sure humans do bad things, but not all humans are bad. The entire point of Undertale is that the message when it comes to monsters is things like:
1.Being a different race(all monsters in the underground are all different)
2.Homeosexuality(Alphys and Undyne being lesbians)
3.Not saving much money(Ice-cream guy)
4.Dealing with guilt and the pain of being alone(Asgore and Toriel)
And most importantly, feeling the need to commit suicide.
Michael Siegler Great job!
Chara also likely tried to kill themself
Electro Art Studios none of this would have happened if they didn't off themselves by eating buttercups
Dude, the true villain is clearly jerry.
Do you take ideas for theories?
If so, then who could save and load before Flowey was made?
-My guess is Sans-
*_-I think a human-_*
I would say something counteracting that statement, but I can't put it in a way that'll make sense.
I'm a teenager.
I have an idea for a future video: When did Toriel tell Sans to protect the human? When did she have the time when you came?
Determination is just a nebulous concept, it's really all down to individuality of the player that determines what is evil. I have never played a genocide playthough of Undertale and only ever used the kitchen knife on asgore at the end of a neutral playthough, but didn't make the killing blow choosing to spare him, only for flowey to kill him.
I think Frisk is the true villain.
He killed, reset, and everything else to give others the worst life ever.
It's JERRY!
Always has been
That's the plot twist: the main villain in the game is... THE PLAYER.
"Flowey and the Amalgamates". Live concert 4-1-2666, get your tickets now. And don't forget to purchase their new album "Filled With Determination"
"Detetrmination" is a bit like the blade you find within Asgore's house--the choices you make as a player determine how you see it. and how you use it. Used for good, it allows you to free all the monsters and return home; used recklessly or apathetically, it will bring unrelenting ruin.
The true villian is obviously *_-Jerry-_*
Looking thru the videos. Cant escape the Undertale Animation Clickbait.
Ace Goutro Sans and Toriel | Sans and pap | Papurys and Mettaton
Ace Goutro its like your WObestRST nightmare
Everyone knows the real villain is Jerry.
Salt_ I relate to Jerry tho
Calling determination evil is like calling the force evil because it's used by Sith or calling sugar evil because to much can hurt you. A thing/force can't be evil, only the person/situation it's used in.
songs which MAY force you to hum with it
1, Bonetrousle
2, Asgore AKA Bergentrukùng
3, your best nightmare
4, Hopes and Dreams
5, Save the World
IT'S THE DOG
My b-day is in 4 days!
Silver Sheik no offense but that's something irrelevant to the video
phantom freddy Welp you got a point so.......
my birthday is in 6 ☹️
I meant to say 6 months
cool
Also I believe you're missing the point. One of the main lessons you learn while playing Undertale is that no one is truly evil, and everyone deserves a second chance. This whole theroy goes aginst that lesson, and isn't that good
Preach.
Howard Yates I hate these comments. WATCH THE FUCKING VIDEO!
in the cutscene with the stuff about humans and monsters, did anyone else notice one of the humans that sealed the barrier (i think) looks somewhat like Kirs from Deltraune?
I know it I knew flowey he's the the true villian right? the whole time not Chara right?
