Red and grey forever chic, chicer than red and black. Charcoal with a tomato red, dove grey with a blue red lipstick. It’s less seen and manages its intensity to create a dynamic but not equal intensity outfit. X

Someone mentioned ‘red and gray’ in the comments and that was the first combination that popped into my head as well! Years ago I was taking a bus and in walked a young woman, wearing gray pants and a muted red cashmere sweater. I could not stop staring at her - she was holding a brand new baby in her arms and I thought she was the most chic and stunning mom I’ve seen. The outfit looked effortless, yet intentional. She probably didn’t even realize how chic she looked.
I was thinking gray too. It seems so polished as the neutral with many colors, IMHO.

When my daughter was a baby she had horrible reflux, I could never have worn anything like cashmere. 😂 Thankfully she outgrew it.
Red looks great with chocolate/espresso brown as a dark neutral -- especially orange biased reds. Using little accents of turquoise can look nice with red too. I often wear turquoise jewelry with red linen shirt, white pants in summer.

Just want to say thank you for the representation you have in your example pics - ages, body types, skin tones. I can easily get caught up in feeling like “oh that’s not for me” but actually seeing how something translates over a diverse array of women has inspired me to try.

One thing I really appreciate about Audrey's videos is that they're so helpful as someone who wears a uniform at work (scrubs in my case) because I don't have a lot of time to actually wear clothes. I noticed recently that because I wear pretty much exclusively black scrubs (for staining purposes), I've fallen into a habit of buying black clothes too, even though I don't particularly look good in black. So I've started rewatching some older videos regularly, as a sort of reminder to myself to actually think about and consider what actually looks good on me and what I like, instead of just buying the most serviceable things as if my personal clothing is just another uniform to wear outside of work.
These color episodes are so well done; keep them coming, please!

I love wearing a red shoe. Red pumps or a classic ballet flat brings interest to an outfit. When wearing a top I usually gravitate toward a burgundy or deep wine shade. Merry Christmas Audrey.

Red is the first colour the eye notices, obviously it seems bold and makes you stand out :) A beautiful combination I believe is red+gold, I think it looks super noble and regal, a true power couple

I used to hate wearing red until my father told me I look beautiful in red right before he passed. So of course now I look for red pieces every where. I look best in cool dark red and now I love the color. I also started wearing blue after watching your videos. We are similar in skin and hair color and I seen how good you look in certain shade of blue looked on you. Oh my bedroom is basically black as well except for the walls. Oof red and pink. I’m not there yet. 😂

I think one combination that can come under classic red is also Gray and red.
Red is my fav color, yet many clothes in it looks cheap. I like to wear red in materials that read wealthy: leather, silk, etc. Red leather gloves, red wool scarf, red silk scarf or blouse.

I wear tons of red; red t shirts, red blouses, red sweaters, red lipstick. I don't understand why it should look "cheap". That's a western upper class perception rooted in 18th and 19th century values. For the majority of the world, red is the colour of festivals happiness, joy and celebration.
I agree. I've been on the hunt for a red coat and I just didn't want to spend money on a lot of the ones I can across until I saw a Brook's Brother's red long coat on Poshmark. It's so beautiful and the quality is great

Red is my favorite color. Red and black is a color combo I’ve always gravitated towards, to the point where others have noticed. I’m wearing red & black today actually! As a “winter” with light olive skin, I always get compliments when I wear red, and black makes my skin glow. I look forward to watching this video.

I love red. I just realized that everyone of my coats are red: winter coat, summer and spring jacket, hiking jacket, rain coat and oh my!!! It makes me feel wonderful.

I used to be afraid of wearing red because it is such a bold color. Now that I am 57 and have grown into my own skin I love wearing red. I have found myself reaching for more red pieces to incorporate into my wardrobe.This video came perfect as last week I thrifted a beautiful classic red wool sweater with beautiful buttons on the shoulder. Watching this video, I was inspired to wear red with other colors I had never thought of wearing it with, such as purple and red, or red and orange. I love waking up to your videos. Fantastic video! I love red as an accent colour and have been wearing it for years! I have very dark hair and pale skin so a true blue red gives me the lift I need to make me look more vibrant. Just adding a red beret and red leather gloves to a black winter coat immediately adds interest. And red shoes or a red purse added to a black outfit does the same. Red lipstick has always been my go to lip colour. And whenever I wanted to make a powerful impact, an all red suit worked a charm! I always get compliments when I wear red so it’s obviously working for me! Please keep doing these colour videos, they are so inspirational! Thank you!
I like the combination of light blue (sort of chambray) and deep red that leans burgundy. To me, it looks a little unexpected but harmonious at the same time.

Hi Audrey, just this week I tried on my red cardigan with my cream white teddy coat and I felt so refreshed especially during these sunless cold dreary days! I also have a neutral wardrobe but I forget how these colours can definitely perk things up. I love wearing jewel tone colours in the fall and winter for those same reasons. A couple of my favourites are my wool purple J.Crew blazer, and green silk blouse. I absolutely love how you have rationale when speaking of colours and showing all these different pictures so as to not narrow down our options! Have a peaceful and safe holiday week ! 🎄❤️🇨🇦

Last Sunday I wore a monochromatic red outfit with a camel coat to church and I got so many compliments. Red is definitely one of my signature colors along with blue and pink. I’ve been streamlining my wardrobe and only adding pieces that I know will go with 3-5 outfits. Appreciate your videos and love the cat and dog cameos. 😊

In my youth (40 to 50 years ago in my hippie days) I word red and purple together very often! I even had a car that was bright, rich purple with a red interior.

I usually cannot take too much red, definitely not a top. Whenever I crave for red, I go for a skirt. Red shoes are very attractive to me. I might take it up some time in the future. I just purchased a red linen double breasted blazer. So glad to see your video for more ideas how to wear it. After a winter of black and beige, it’s fun to do a brighter capsule wardrobe. My favorite is camel,black and red.

Red is by far my favourite colour. I like it in many combinations, but sometimes I don't want to be very bold, so I wear it with grey. I never tried to combine red and pink, I'm curious. One of my favourite combinations is total navy blue with red accessories: shoes, belt, necklace and of course lipstick.

I was wondering about red and brown. I have a gorgeous red cashmere sweater and a brown leather skirt and as you were talking about black, I jotted down to try that combination and also with my brown leather skirt. I have always loved the combination of cerise and deep leaf green (Pantone 10177 C and 2277 C). When you pair the perfect shades (for you) of these colors, especially in silk, you will look and feel wonderful. These colors pair beautifully with creamy white and black.

Color is fun for me during the fall/winter months, and thanks to this color series, I've honestly been having a lot of fun experimenting with my wardrobe! I'm thinking that once spring comes around, I'll take inventory of which colors I want to add and which ones don't speak to me anymore. A lot of what I have currently is very basic...

Thank you for this video. You gave me inspiration for my red wool skirt! In the past I have mostly worn red with black or white, maybe a pair of jeans. I am tired of that combination, so I have not worn the skirt. The other color combos you presented makes wearing my red skirt exciting. And I am in agreement with another commenter...thank you for including a wide range of ages, skin tones, and body types in your examples. This makes it feel accessible to those of us who are not models or physically youthful.
