    For me (what I learnt) warm is tomato, cool is raspberry. Thanks for the other comparisons. The video was a good one.
    Because of the redness of my face I don't really wear red clothes, but a red bag is great.

    Sometimes what people refer to as raspberry looks red,or pinky red. But sometimes it's so pink I lose the sense it's a red berry color and not a sherbert/raspberry stained white shirt. Lol.🍓🍒🍉❤️

    I have just bought a long warm red puffer coat with a golden brown fur trim to the hood (it gets cold here in the Scottish Highlands)! When I trained in textile design, we were taught to pair trims to the colour of the garment, a lot of work went into it. So a cool navy - you would have cool silver zips, buttons or a cool coloured fur trim and so on. This is one way you can often tell if a garment in a shop is cool or warm, look at any trims, the fastenings, the zips, the buttons. This is not foolproof, manufacturers often put black buttons on everything, as these are cheaper to buy en masse, particularly on cheaper garments!

      Great tip! I wish all manufacturers followed this! It would make shopping for colours easier!

    Thank you. I'm a True Summer, and I was wearing my red cord jacket today. It's probably edging slightly towards Winter, but it's near enough, and I was wearing it with a scarf with some different cool reds in it which brought it closer to my main palette.

    Yes, when you put the silver to the warm red or the gold to the cool red, it looks like they are kind of on display, and not in a good way. Interesting that the camera picks that up so well.

    Interesting you mentioned watermelon red being a summer red. I've never had my colors professionally done, but I've started to suspect I might be a summer. I have a pinky, watermelon red nail polish that I LOVE on my skin, even more so than any of my oxblood, true, or tomato reds (can you tell red is my favorite color?) Even further suggesting to me that I might be a summer.

      Ya! She styled the yellow.
      I would love to see a nautical theme. Like buildings and forest on a Nova Scotia coast. I'm pretty happy with summer colors,but,l like a lemon yellow . One color combination of coastal homes happens to be red,blue, yellow - mostly in shades that aren't normally sitting together , like steel grey blue :cool summer or cool winter,red: anything from cardinal, Muskoka chairs, to lobster , yellow 💛: usually bright spring tone. I love a good old fashioned yellow raincoat ,but I'd probably look better in red.

      A hard one for me is purple and red . I don't know whether I like it or not. Blue and Red also seems dependent on shades.

    • @sophiaconsta3307
      @sophiaconsta3307 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ingridpear1882 Yes, I love burgundy and purple, but not bright red and purple. I love either light blue or navy with almost all shades of red, but not so much medium, bright blues like royal blue and red. I think because red is such a dominant colour, it's helpful to understand which colour should play the main role in an outfit and that red doesn't compete with other colours. Haha, thanks to your comment, I now give myself the answer to my question. 😃Thank you Sarah for the video, thank you for the comment! - It made me think about it and learn something.

  • @mayflowermatriarch5284

    I find it really confusing when I hear someone speak of red as being "warm", and then a moment later say that it is on the "cool" side. As one of the primary colors, red is poised equally between yellow and blue. A drop of yellow moves red from neutral toward warm, and a drop of blue starts to move red toward cool. Pure red [and its opposite, pure green] are neither warm nor cool even though we have been conditioned to think of red being warm -- because of its association with fire -- and green being cool -- because of its association with water. If the color wheel has any meaning, it should be that everything from red, through yellow and ending in green is warm, and the other side, starting with red, going through blue, and ending in true green, is cool. I have cool skin and I guarantee you that there's no yellow, orange, or or lime green that I can wear, no matter how many people call it a light chiffon yellow and say that it's cool!

    • @luciasanchez865
      @luciasanchez865 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn't think red was a primary colour, I thought magenta was? Which is cooler than red. At least that's how I studied it in school.

    • @mayflowermatriarch5284
      @mayflowermatriarch5284 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@luciasanchez865 if it’s cooler than red, then it must have had blue added, therefore not a primary color. The primary colors are red, yellow, and blue. This has nothing to do with the colors used for print cartridges for example.
