About the eggshells - if youre giving them to the chickens, you don't need to boil or dry them in the oven, dry them outside, and crush them up with a rolling pin, it doesn't need to be powder for the chickens. But for human consumption, yes - you need the full process :D

Off topic but I was out in my garden and happened to see a patch of all the same leaves growing together. 2 years ago I started this small herb garden spot. Last year I didn't use it. This year one end went to mint. That's it. This patch was from 2 years ago and I found the tag to confirm what I suspected. Oregano!!! I knew it was a perennial but forgot I put it there😊
Years 😊 That's why it is probably the best investment ever. Also, if you have leftovers you dont want to finish, you can throw it in there and make shelf stable meals you actually like for camping, for emergencies, etc. They keep for over 20 years.
My family is planning to move to kansas in a few years and i plan to have chickens again, will have to try this. Do you have to do anything to protect your chickens from storms and winter?

Okay but let’s not mistake powdered eggs and freeze dried eggs. Cause those powered eggs at school and in the military are nowhere near these…. Have you tried dehydrating them as well? I’m curious what’s better dehydrating or freeze drying.
I just give the shells to my chickens without the cleaning, baking, grinding. I can see cleaning if you have so many but grinding definitely seems unnecessary.
I get really annoyed when I have to buy eggs and would love to have a freeze dryer to preserve the surplus summer eggs. Even the best quality store bought eggs are so inferior compared to farm fresh eggs

You can freeze dry all different types of fruit also . You also can freeze dry chili soups and other meals.
