  • Hey everyone! Welcome back to another video! Today I walk you through how I make my everyday sponges from luffas grown right in my backyard! This is such a fun gift to give if you have a abundance of luffas!! I love using these to clean my body, veggies, around the house, dishes... etc! They work great for so much, plus they are composable and homegrown!! Hope you enjoy!

    For the green one, if you put slits in them around the husk then bake them for 30 minutes at 200°, it will come right off. Then you let them dry in the oven more after the cool down or hang dry them! :)

    Hello, new sub here. I'm not a homesteader or a gardener, but I came across your recent videos, and I am absolutely in awe of you. The things you accomplish in a day are exhausting to watch! 😮 You're adorable and strong as an ox. I hope you one day get your dream land and I can't wait to see what you'll do with that! You're amazing! Much love from Rhode Island. Terry 🙏♥️💯

    I'm so glad you shared this! I've often wondered how you turn those long, odd looking 'fruits' into sponges! I this I might give it a go next year. How many seeds did you plant?

    Love this! I grew loofah for the first time this year and I’m excited to try and make these. I wonder if maybe baking the green ones at a low temp would help with peeling the skins or putting in a dehydrator? Hmmmm

    This is one of the coolest things ever i think. Like what??? You can ... GROW your own sponges? The fact of this possibility is so cool. I tried last year but none of my seeds sprouted. Im gonny try again this year, already ordered them but it might be too late in the season already to start 🙈 but im still gonna try it out. Every year now

Since you are experienced, could you guide me how do I colour bleach the vibe dried brownish loofah. By the by, you are from which country and where is your farm house. Looking forward ❤

    I never grew loofahs and know nothing about them, but is it possible to dry them off the vine? Like, if you hang them in the basement or a garage so they don't get rained on, will they dry, or will they rot?
    ETA: also, is it loofah, or luffa? :)

    • @itsbreellis
      @itsbreellis  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It can be spelled either way! I tried to dry a few last year in my basement and even with good airflow they got moldy. I plan to try out drying a few different ways this year to see if I can figure something else out
