    Thanks for making the vid. Screen shot that email they sent and post it within the video so users can see it better. That info is like the cherry on top.

    Hi
    In my X-Max for linear rods I use WD-40 PTFE dry lube. I use this for all my other printers.
    I like dry lub because prevents small dust particles from the air sticking to rods.
    Thanks for one more video
    Waiting for more 🤟

      Thanks for your comment on what you use. The way we showed is “A” way, definitely not “THE” way. I love seeing other ways because it helps the community.
      Stick around for more because our next couple maybe TH-cam premieres, hopefully.

      No problem, I’m embarrassed it took so long to get out. Hope it helps. Cheers!

    Hey, we've talked about it in the past, but the i-fast has been released. I'm having a lot of fun with mine. I also picked up a few of the i-mates.

      Be expecting a couple of those videos to start dropping this week. Probably won’t be much help to you since you got it already, but I’d love to hear your feedback once they release. That way others can follow along and get some good feedback.

    How did you guys remove the side panels off your X-MAX?

    • @Eitri3D
      @Eitri3D  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are 6 screws on the outside panels and one screw in the inside above the handle.

    • @lnt3ch
      @lnt3ch 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Eitri3D My model must be a bit different - when you look inside the holes on the outside panels there are these black covers and a metallic border, they almost look like magnets with a black rubber piece attached or something

      @@Eitri3D finally got them off! Didn’t realize you could remove them with the included Allen wrench until I rewatched this vid.
      Did you guys have to do anything with the belt?

      I’m glad you were able to remove them. As for the belts, we did not have to adjust anything on them as of yet.

    Hi and thank you for all your videos you put out for 3d printing . I just bought the qidi x-max and have about 30 builds from small to large and different types of filament. haven't use hi temp extruder yet though. My question is how often are you doing maintenance on the qidi x-max should i be doing this once or twice a year or more? thanks for any input have a great day.

    • @Eitri3D
      @Eitri3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, I have only done maintenance once in 18 months and that was just for the video. I also am not printing 24/7. I would personally recommend basic maintenance every 6 months and maybe a deep clean annually.

    How is that bed leveling mod working for you? I read someone complaining about how they replaced the spring with silicon spacers and now they are having issues.

    • @Eitri3D
      @Eitri3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly have not had any issues with the bed leveling. I highly recommend it as I feel that is the biggest design failure with the Qidi X-Max.

  • @TheDropYouNeed

    why shouldnt you lubricate the X axis ?

    • @Eitri3D
      @Eitri3D  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A couple of different thoughts on this.
      1. The type of bearings.
      2. The type of lubricant I used isn’t made for those.
      3. Qidi provided me with their recommendations

      @@Eitri3D Ahh i see thanks! :)

    Silicone lube is best for metal to plastic, metal to metal should be light machine oil or a gear grease, PTFE lube might be okay as well, same for linear rods, if they are plastic bushes, then silicone lube, but if they are metal bearings, then grease or light machine oil.

    Hi Mike & Sierra, great video (as always), thanks! Do u guys know if the X-Max/X-Plus can automatically resume a print after a power outage? Some sites say it does but I can't find any documentation. Thanks again!

    • @Eitri3D
      @Eitri3D  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can confirm that the X-Max and I-Fast have the ability to resume after a power outage, but not automatically. You have to reprint the file and select continue from break point.

    • @jeff-dv8cx
      @jeff-dv8cx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Eitri3D Gotcha, thank you for that info. Do I determine break point by measurement, or does the printer run a log that i can view?

    • @Eitri3D
      @Eitri3D  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s nothing you have to do, except hit print. Since the machine doesn’t have actual memory if you do anything other than hit reprint, that breakpoint is lost, based on my experiences so far.

    • @jeff-dv8cx
      @jeff-dv8cx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Eitri3D Awesome, thank you again for sharing your experiences. Looking forward to more videos! In addition to the printer stuff, it's great to see you guys learning & sharing as a family, the world needs more of that. Keep up the good work, guys!

    Did QIDI specify lube quantity on the vertical rails?

    • @Eitri3D
      @Eitri3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They did not. I used what they recommended and guessed the amount. If a part was not cleaned or lubed that is because they did not recommend it.

      @@Eitri3D it was the 3m lube/grease once I followed the link. I’m just surprised they don’t recommend the dry lube that almost all other oems suggest. But honestly, I think just wiping it down to get the big stuff off should be plenty for this machine
