This happened to me. I have an open civil rights case open against the property. I suffered from sleep deprivation and just found out they had a fraudulent lease in my name which has been added to the civil matter. Police report was filed last week for the fraud they've done. The flats in silver spring!

They will take your rent, fine you if your late bit when it takes time for ownership of the problems instead they ignore or point the finger back at you. Also there is a major problem if someone actually called a government agency on a tenant as a response to them complaing. Trying to get someone locked up or their kids taken away over lies they spun is a dangerous individual. Really the duty of a landlord is to make sure all tenants have everything they were promised in the lease in good healthy working condition. It's almost like the apartment managers looked at the tenants as 2nd class citizens must quietly tolerate substandard living conditions

Me and my legal team just found this out...it's been going on for over 9 mons. Just unbelievable... It's a lot. I just added another million to the settlement amount.

I see a lot of people displaying their ignorance and bias. I live in an apartment ALONE. I have OCD, so my apartment stays spotless. My neighbors are clean also, but guess what? WE STILL HAVE PESTS PROBLEMS. WHY?? Depending on where you live, especially if it's near a heavily wooded area, it's very likely you will encounter pests. Compound that with the complex coming to your unit never to exterminate unless you call, then when the exterminator comes, they use basically water to treat your unit, then don't do a good job being through when they come. I had an exterminator get mad because I directed him to every area he needed to spray. These apartment complexes take the cheapest and easiest way out. When you complain they do nothing but put Band-Aids on gapping wounds.
If you keep the place tight and clean you won’t have such of a bad problem. I mean… that A/C Unit air vent looked like they haven’t dusted off or clean in a foot minute
From the looks of it, the residents need to CLEAN UP their apartments as well. How will these apartments ever improve if the tenants are not doing their part by keeping the unit clean! Cigarette butts on the counters, dirty floors, ovens, bathrooms.. etc. Smh

If you all get together and withhold your rent they will start to listen. Consult an attorney - create an escrow account to deposit the rent into and make sure the court knows.
Most places require deposits and application fees and then you potentially need a moving company. If a person is on a fixed income many times there just isn't money to spare for things like that. Doesn't mean someone should have to pay to live in hazardous and literally life threatening conditions it should still be habitable
Hopefully, they look into tenants whom recently moved as well. Someone close to me has called for the Health department plenty of times but, no one ever showed. Hers was just as bad maybe, even worse. She had a hard time moving out and after she did, everything they were supposed to fix,even the patched up work that was never finished, (maintenance couldn't do much, without the proper tools/supplies) but, now they want her to pay for,all those same problems she put,work orders in for and the patched up work as well.

No matter what you think of some of the tenants because I've read the comments there are still elderly people living there, disabled people, and children.
It’s not like people can buy a house now like it used to be. Decent houses were at 100k to a 150k. The nicer houses were 200k and up and were sometimes two story households. This city is getting less affordable every day. Economics isn’t taught in school and it’s hard all around. They’re just doing the best they can with what they’ve got. I used to live in a one bedroom apartment with my parents and two siblings. They were able to buy a home in an empty neighborhood during the last recession on a income household. Now you have to make not only good money, but you have to have thousands of dollars in savings and exceptional credit to be considered in this market. When my parents bought a home the government gave them like 10K for buying their first home in the late 2000s. They bought a used washing machine, used dryer, and used fridge. You can’t be mad at them if their odds are stacked against them. Times change.

I made MULTIPLE Calls AND emails to the apartment association, HOUSTON HEALTH DEPARTMENT, PASADENA health department, I even tried to get the city itself. But NOTHING was done. I have a child, they still didn’t care. I was fortunate enough to LEAVE. They didn’t wanna give me my deposit back either. VERANDA VILLAGE apartments. NEVER live there.

When walls are shared it’s not so easy-roaches live in walls- I had to move when my neighbors killed 3rats- because the leasing office never helped with mold, mice, roaches etc after complaint after complaint-I even had someone come check for mold-positive-guess what-they don’t care…nothing happens-

The thing is they paying little to no rent to live there. That’s why they stay this has to be section 8 apartments. If they demolished these apartments make them nice and move the same people in that lived there before they would destroy them even move.
I paid $800 a month all bills paid for my first apartment which was a one bedroom and it was a nice starter. No matter how clean I was I didn't start seeing mice until the 15th month that I lived there and even after the situation was taken care of 2 months later I decided to move anyways. My second apartment that I'm sharing with a roommate we pay $1,186 a month and I'll tell you something for that price I better not see one rodent dropping. It all depends on where you live how well the apartments are maintained and how clean you are.

I called for our apartments at Sapphire same conditions for 2br 2ba 1400 dollars a month. No one showed up. Finally got out. Now Im working on suing for my health. I called Health Dept they did nothing I called senators, news stations and nothing happened. Glad they showed up for them.

I called for our apartments at Sapphire same conditions for 2br 2ba 1400 dollars a month. No one showed up. Finally got out. Now Im working on suing for my health. I called Health Dept they did nothing I called senators, news stations and nothing happened. Glad they showed up for them.

They can easily stop paying rent eviction takes about 90 days by that time you have enough for a move but some people are dirty and don't clean that causes Roches and rats then want to blame everyone else.
