I’m glad I’m not the only one who also believes the horn is an issue. I knew the day I bought my Mazda 3 that I have to change it to something more substantial

Just replaced mine after waiting for warm weather to allow me to work on the car in the garage. I went around listening to different horns that different cars had and then nicked the info on the one I liked and bought that horn

The FA5 was sold right after I took it to Super Street FF Battle. Someone made an offer on it that I couldn't pass up.

Great video but I have a few questions, so with the harness I am be able to put up to 3 horns in the car ? And the plug and play thing is just like making the 2 horns work like one ? Lastly , do you need to do any welding to the cables or do anything with the fuse box ? I’m planning to do this soon so I need to make sure I know what I’m doing 😅

You don't need to add a relay... the original horn has its own relay already. You could just add a ground strap for each horn and make a split from the power wire to each new horn
what do you do if the horns is still not working after the replacement, and the relays and fuses are working but there is still no horn sound?
The horn itself may be defective then if the fuse and relay are still good. Or possibly a bad ground connection
So Mark came back to get some free coilovers. Got them. Then left again? lol
I got my 3 used. Also has 1 horn but on the other side has a socket and nothing is connected in it. Is it for another horn ready wiring?

My horn is very quiet on my Mazda 3!
Did you buy a separate ground for the driver side horn. I don’t see any other ground in the wiring kit and I’m confused now
sadly, i'm great in taking things appart, but the issue: no one is able to put these things together again. as the labour going into changing the horns will be around 200 to 300 bucks nowadays, i guess i'll just revert to screaming at the other cars that'd require honking (sure my vocal cords produce more soundpressure than the mazda3's horn)...
then again, with all the savety-requirements these cars need, i wonder who allowed mazda to use THESE ...i don't want to call them horns... on the mazda 3... (my cousin drives a mazda 6 - they got normal horns - why didn't mazda just use them?! )
You don't need a relay the car already has the stock horn relay which is plenty to handle the power just wire in the positive and negative. Why add all the extra complication and wires of adding a relay on top of another relay .
Pretty sure this adds like 50 hp or sum
I would say closer to 47hp

There's a ton of similarity among 2014 to 2018 Mazda 3s. 14-16 are perhaps all the same, 17 introduced a refresh but the externals are largely the same in appearance.
You must have gotten a defective horn. People hear my horn quite well. But mine is a 2021 model so maybe Mazda heard the complaints about the horns being too quiet and they fixed them in later models.

I’ve never even used the horn on my car once.
I average about 4x daily, usually people texting at a stoplight that don't notice the light turned green.
The Hella horn costs $30.
