What i find really cool with the Witcher 3 is that so many aspects of the game could make it just straight up horror. IF we were playing as regular dudes. There are so many parts of the game I would feel creeped out with the kind of fear of not knowing what's coming. But then I remember we're playing as Geralt of Rivia, the dude HIRED to keep these monsters and ghosts away. Then all the fear goes away from my mind, finish the quest, and all of a sudden I'm playing Gwent with the butcher
Welcome to the medieval fantasy setting, take a guess why the protagonist is always a brave knight instead of a giant pussy, it would turn from action adventure to a horror game. I think the game still does a good job of being horrifying when it needs to, because it makes it pretty clear that Geralt is nowhere near as powerful as other characters.
This is how first person should look. For some reason everyone thinks you need your hands and weapons to be constantly visible from POV. Imagine walking around in real life with your hands up in your face all the time.
"Imagine walking around in real life with your hands up in your face all the time" Next you're gonna be telling me that ppl irl couldn't take multiple bullets to their bodies and continue fighting like it's nothing or that they don't heal by eating consumables or ducking under a stone cover. Like duh, games aren't real life, they simply mimic reality but it is not reality. There are going to be things done for gameplay purposes that would be illogical when you apply real logic to it.

never seen frogs hopping! thats it back to skellige and im gunna go looking! its like finding that log in skyrim with the termites crawing.. so kewl detail you often run past
Its called Gervant First Person, here's the link to it: www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/5706 you should combine it with the Immersive Lighting mod to make your game like mine
If the next witcher had a first person toggle that would be really cool. Not necessarily the combat but just the exploration and using witcher senses would be so cool and immersive.
Videos like these make me kinda jealous for not having a pc, like there’s a lot of games i think having mods and other stuff enhances the experience and this video is the best example. Though the game is still amazing and beautiful on PS5 next gen, it’s just enchantments can make games much more interesting and engaging. Also i love that his swords and hands are not on screen all the time because this is one thing i hate about FP is that for some reason hands are always on screen. This is so beautiful!
I consider The Witcher to be more Low Fantasy Than Dark, though it kind of straddles the line in some cases. For the most part, the world the books are set in are relatively mundane, most the of really fantastical magical parts have already happened with magic itself being on the downswing. People live relatively normal lives, and races like elves and dwarves are just...elves and dwarves.
imagine actually having to live as a peasant in this world. just one of many reasons why this game feels so real is because they don't depict peasants living great lives like in skyrim realistically, the life of a peasant would be a life of anguish, suffering, and anger
Gervant first Person mod is awesome isn't it, massive pain to install but once you got it all working it's gorgeous. Almost makes me want to play the game.

@@DRE4Mzy wow, really? this is so cool. Regretfully i've never seen them on my own when i played Witcher. I just couldn't imagine i'll ever see such small animals like frogs, much less on Skellige! Isn't it a too cold for them over there?

No way 3rd person game could look that great as a 1st person
Goes to show how game design can be a roller coaster of decisions, I’m sure it was in a build of the game in early development at some point

just like KCD but with magic lol
