@@jgzaz Yeah, it's probably a localization thing so people understand it's like red light, green light. The dub actually has it saying "red light, green light" which honestly changes the game since you don't know when it'll say "red light", in the sub you know when it's going to stop because of the melody. The realism in this show is immaculate and so relatable to the desires of people in power. People watching this show have to realize that using human beings as entertainment happened in the past. Your reaction to Gong Yoo entering the scene ‘hey it’s the guy from Train to Busan’. My reaction ‘it’s the Goblin!’ Talk about a show more people need to react to. Have fun with this series.
So I will say this, if you enjoy watching this with subtitles and are fine with it, I highly recommend watching korean tv shows (dramas). They are some of the best TV I've seen the past few years since they are usually only one season, consisting of 16-20 episodes. So you always get a solid conclusion with these stories and you know its for a limited run. It's not going to go on and on like other shows and you can watch a ton of various genres and concepts. I highly recommend watching Doctor Prisoner, The Guest, Stranger (only show here to have a season 2 so far), While you were sleeping, or Vincenzo. I first found about Squid Game from a few reactors then from my sons who are in middle school (who know about it and are watching it) I binged watched it - it's a great series! Also from his horse race win 4.5 million Korean won = 3750 US dollars
Bruh my moms boss recommended it to her and then the next day he printed out the cards and gave them to the people that watched it. The cards also weren’t like cheap paper they were like professional cards and everything. Lmao 😂
Someone commented elsewhere, divide the amount of their currency (Korean won) by 1,000, and that will give you a ballpark range in US dollars. That's what I read.
A good rule of thumb is about 1,000 Won equals 1 USD. So, Gi-Hun paid his friend's mom 10,000 won for the mackerel and told her to keep the change. Tho, she states the actual price for it is 12,000 won. Also, the smallest Korean banknote is a 1,000 won bill. They've also 5,000 won bill; 10,000 won bill; and the largest banknote is the 50,000 won bill.
So the total amount of prize money for the entire Squid Games is only about $4 million? There have been one hour game shows in the US that can go that high. You'd think with the cost of production and the extreme circumstances going on, there would be a lot more money on the line. I mean, if 15 people survive the games there won't be enough money for them all to get out of debt, that seems kind of absurd.
@@bobdonda no, the total prize money was 45,600,000,000 won. If we wanna be generous with the exchange rate, that amount would be $45,600,000. (Per the current rate: ~38 million usd.)

Kingdom is in my top 3 best kdramas ever!
Train to Busaaaaaaaaaaaaan best movie ever
Six Flying Dragons is a must too
Marketa: You forgot to mention the best one
Suraj: witch one?
Marketa: Blackpink
Chris: Blackpink is not a movie
Me: looool😂😂
Netflix has a movie about Blackpink.
I thought she would say the other “B” famous korean group… 😂😂😂
@@fullofhype I know, it's a documentary btw☺️
I first found about Squid Game from a few reactors then from my sons who are in middle school (who know about it and are watching it) I binged watched it - it's a great series! Also from his horse race win 4.5 million Korean won = 3750 US dollars
I’m glad you trust your sons to be watching it! I cant imagine having strict parents find you watching things with so much gore
This show is amazing! So glad you are watching it
Calling it now: Pat will end up rooting for the face tattoo guy.
lol... he'll root for the friend with the glasses.
Bruh my moms boss recommended it to her and then the next day he printed out the cards and gave them to the people that watched it. The cards also weren’t like cheap paper they were like professional cards and everything. Lmao 😂
Oh Man, Holy Shit!
I'll take my leave now-
Sounds like a good boss with humor lol
Perhaps the best name ever
@@giyaaa we all read it in his voice
Ok, I LOVE THE SKIT! Been waiting for you guys :) so happy you're watching this show!
Someone commented elsewhere, divide the amount of their currency (Korean won) by 1,000, and that will give you a ballpark range in US dollars. That's what I read.
What I also read is that you just remove 3 zeros. And there you go. Much more simple although not very accurate but close enough
Divide by 1000 and take away 10% is usually a good approximation.
@@KryptonKr What if the amount you're converting doesn't have zeros to remove? like 257 654..
@@MrFara0 Then move the decimal point up 3 places, so 257.654
@@DizRupTnz Nice
When the red jumpsuits came out with that music, i got Willy Wonka vibes, especially with the differing rooms, signing something, etc.
@@fullofhype Thanks. I realized right after commenting that I must have made a mistake but I couldn't find the comment to delete it lol. That amount makes a lot more sense
Best show I’ve watched all year so far.
It is definitely worthy of its popularity and its #1 spot on Netflix.
When Mickey Brought up Most Extreme Elimination Challenge. The Nostalgia hit Different 🥴
That skit in the beginning was super funny and I'm excited to see these reactions!
Seriously though. Reacting to K-Dramas is such an untapped market for reactors. A lot of K-Dramas are very popular. I would sacrifice my first born just to get some of these big channels to react to Goblin, Stranger, Mr.Queen, Prison Playbook, Lawless Lawyer, Flower of Evil, Uncanny Counter, Its Okay to not be Okay etc. Just so many great shows to pick from.
Imagine the views if they had reacted to Crash Landing On You when it aired.
@@KyleS3m3noff Ikr? That show was hot when it was airing.
@who cares wasn't really my deal, but personal opinions really don't mean shit when it was wildly popular. I don't give a tinned shit about anime, but my personal feelings about something don't stop them from getting the views with it.
I dunno, man. Have you tried, maybe, like, NOT thinking your opinion means anything?
@who cares see your name? The answer is "not me".
Legit SO hyped to see y’all watch this! 🤪 We’re about to watch it for the second time!!!
Bruh that's so mee in the intro, people would not leave me alonee 🤣
"This is dope! I kinda wanna play!!"
Uff
I was waiting for your guys reactions on this show!!! let’s go🔥🔥🐐
Lmfao I didn't even bother recommending this show to y'all bc I KNEW y'all was already getting comments about it and were going to react to it 😭😂 Anyway, I'm excited to see yalls reaction to the show 😌
funny thing: every one of the reactions that I've seen, all those people said: "Oh, red pill, blue pill". That made me laugh so much, cuz even I've said that when I was watching. XD
Been waiting for this, glad you guys are watching this.
I like how Rana’s favourite character is the old man.
Glad you guys are watching this. You won't be disappointed. Also, after this definitely go and see Alice in Borderland. Its 🔥
How many English-Reaction-Streamer mentioning the Frontman speaking english?
100% so far.
How many Non-English-Reaction-Streamer mentioning the Frontman speaking english?
0% so far. 😂
The physical rights went to the loan sharks. The game people just knew about it because they were following him.
oh man, seeing them watch any korean tv only gives me hope for drama reactions
edit: also there are many forms of red light green light style games in korean, and the words the doll was saying weren't red light green light, they basically translate to "
The Hibiscus Flowers Bloomed" and the rule of the game for the spotter is that they have to say the full line before they can turn around
Lol all of the comments were SO annoying to see like I’m sure you guys already know what is popular to react to but glad you guys got to this show! Hope y’all and anyone gets to see ‘I Saw the Devil’’, one of my favorite Korean movie productions of all time, highly recommend it to everyone!
so we all saw sangwoo and was immediately reminded of iida😭
FINALLY I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!
All the sets are pretty much real.. that staircase set was 100% real.
You guys have the best quailty reactions!
25:45 LOVED IT!!!! 😍
I do always appreciate the skits at the start and that you guys can have fun with it.
If Blind Wave is doing something than I definitely expect y'all to be close behind.
I love how some reactors such as you guys recognizes Gong Yoo as "The guy/daddy from Train to Busan" or "The guy from Squid Game". Hahaha! Too cute!
Also the reactions to the old man, to Ali (no. 199) and when the front man speaks English 😅
HELL YESSS I GOT SO EXCITED WHEN I SAW THIS REACTION NOTIF
You guys really have the best reaction! Watched a lot of other reactors but I really enjoyed you guys the most! So happy this is happening in your channel now! Looking forward to reactions on the following episodes.
Chris with the Oldboy shoutout, respect
This was amazing lol so happy you guys are doing it
"Is it a toy gun?" Guns are illegal in Korea.. so obviously.
