Another great thing about Griffins, which makes them pretty much my favourite flyer, is that you have left, right and backwards flight controls, (like the Tapejara), and also you can use weapons while flying. The ultimate mobile flyer for tranqing just about anything.

If you swoop on a griffin (and don't hit the ground) and use it's regular attack it does a lot more damage than just sitting on the ground and attacking. It gains atk bonus from the swoop. I've killed wyverns with a Griffin.
Another griffin fun fact, if you are on your griffin (not touching ground) and you look down, then press down to move backwards, the Griffin flies directly upwards at speed

This is a great trap! To save on resources you only need to put foundations on the rows your placing your ceilings on. You don't need to fill in the whole thing.

You forgot to mention that you deal bonus damage in the left click attack when you have momentum from a dive. Otherwise, a good video, I hadn't thought of using double door frames for a trap.

Great video and tips MeShell! A couple of other uses I like to always have a Griffin for is 1, you can fire crossbows longneck,etc while riding them. I have used them to tranq and tame quetz and some ground dinos. 2 You can stand on their backs. So what i do is set them to follow and at any height you can exit and you'll be standing on it's back. This has been useful for many things including building around your base when you need to reach out of the way places.
Can you do tutorial how you build this trap?
Those things seem much faster and more dangerous than the Wyverns on Valguero or Ragnarok!

my only way of taming dinos is getting a ton of spare gear and get like 20 beds near it then just keep camping it until it sleeps then i recollect my gear
Great video! Love the trap and design. But the way you pronounce pteranodon bothers me lol. You’re completely skipping the “ano” in pter-ano-don. Other than my weird obsession with correct pronunciation your video is great!

Definitely but I use it as a multipurpose to trap the wyvern heirs so that I can get crystal off of the high level ones. that is why my trap is so big.

To tame a griffin it is preferable. my trap is very large but where I built it is located near the wyvern spawn point so I made my trap big to trap wyverns and griffins. Not entirely sure about the controller binds, sorryl .

This is not the modded map. This is the true vanilla servers map. Unfortunately, I do not play on modded serves and have no idea about any other variants that belong on those modded servers.
If I was Geralt of Rivia, all i'd need is a generic mini cross bow with silver arrows...

There are super cheap Griffin specific traps that probably use a hundredth of the materials for this trap. This one's multi-purpose though of course.

No you cannot breed any griffins on the official maps. If you download mods then yes you could breed griffins but if you are playing normal without mods then you will never be able to breed griffins.
Would a crystal wyvern with 9k health do good for taming a griffen? Lel
How you make extra kibble in this map
depends on the kibble you need different typoes of eggs and vegetables to make them. google them to go on the ark wiki page. extraordinary kibble is the best and will tame all dinos

Good video but you forgot the best and most unique thing. You can shoot off the back of the Griffin. Even when in the air. The only flyer you can do that with.
This right here!!!!! The most useful thing about this mount. Great for taming a quetz.

Here’s a tip if ur tranqing a Griffin make sure u only tranq it if 2 people tranq at same time it will die only tranq by yourself

looks excessive for a trap. theres easier traps to build.
i mentioned in the video that I use it as a multipurpose wyvern trap and griffin trap. that is why it is big.

@@BDB-DADDY No you are not wrong. You need to keep in mind that there are two different variants of the map. There is the modded version of the map. That came out first. People have played on that and there are a lot of videos on TH-cam about the modded map. I myself have never played on a modded ARK map.
The videos that I am showing you are from the official Crystal Isles map. Meaning that this is the map that was put out by the ARK developers. What I am showing you is also what they have put on official servers.
So essentially its not fake, it is real, but it is most likely from a modded map. I hope I explained this well enough.
