I have built a few engines in my day but i was a kid with big ideas and no money. The last real engine I had apart was an LS1 98 Corvette that broke a ring land and tried to eat it. Too much Boost on a stock assembly. I found an Engine builder locally and it was the best decision ever. He was Simon Brown in Chantilly VA and he did everything I asked and more. Crane Cam, H Beam rods, Mahle Pistons all the good gaskets, bolts and valve parts. Oh and an Iron Block LS1. Watching you here gives me hope the LT1 In my 2014 Corvette could be warmed up too. Thank You for sharing. Will this engine get started so we can hear it? It seems if i found a junk motor I could tear it down and rebuild it as you just did here. Maybe on a nice stand an just do it for fun. start it up on special days and spook the neighbors. Thank You great project. Dennis
Thanks to the comments, we do not start or run these as we do not build or have the wiring harnesses, that’s a whole different thing. You can see most of them run on this Instagram page though instagram.com/lt.swap.king?igsh=MW41eGthNXBxNmk2bg==
I watch your videos for the motors and your c10’s I have a 63 c10 and I want to install an L87.great job on all the work on these engines love the content keep this up! 😎
hello, great job and thanks for sharing all the info. Does Michigan motorsports have a complete kit for DOD/VVT along with engine freshen up? seals/gaskets, timing chain, thrust plate, bolts, etc? part #? ty
Ok. Love it. So where are you guys located? Assuming I bring my yukon 2023 AT4 to do a DOD delete, who does the tuning after your team finished with the surgery?
You can, but it can be turned off in the tune. This guy opted to not lock it out. Me personally would have locked it as the timing moves the valve to piston clearance changes, with this stock 6.6 cam I don’t think any contact would occur but I could not say for sure. Some smaller cams come with like a 4degree lock so you could retain some VVT functionality. How this helps sorry the answer is not a definite one.
Lt5 and L8T does not have arm and dfm meaning it doesn’t come with dod on them are you sure that’s L8T cause mine doesn’t have one at all. It only have vvt variable valve timing only

@DennisMurphey you may be close to raceprovenmotorsports.net
They do great work in my opinion.
2:00 Thanks for considering it =) I'm hoping the popularity of the gen 5 takes off and it becomes more widely supported.
Yes sir thank for the continued support.

Not that I know of , they do have DoD kits just not as complete as what you are asking, you could purchase the rest separately
do you reuse the original oil pump? any need for higher volume?
I don’t recall if it was original or a new replacement, but no use for higher volume on this engine it’s basically stock with a DoD delete
Ok. Love it. So where are you guys located?

Everything goes through instagram.com/lt.swap.king?igsh=MW41eGthNXBxNmk2bg==
Houston Tx
Did you reuse stock pushrods or need to change to different ones?
This one we re used stock
On the l84 dod delete do you need the lt vvt lock out

Did you had to do a tuneup after you placed in this cam?
You would at least need to turn off the AFM/dod , we just build so tuning is not our thing at this time.
What are the torque specs for the heads? I have the same engine
