    These were stock length pushrods I must have actually grabbed an old LS pushrod during the comparison.

      It did 880Hp to the wheels on a very conservative tune nothing maxed out or crazy on only 10lbs of boost. Still can go an extra 150 pretty easy but ill wait for now to break in the motor and take it easy on the stock 8spd tranny. I fly out to Houston tomorrow morning to pick it up @arikadams2269

    These engines are assembled with rtv. That's why there is so much.

      Yes I know that, but these were new parts

  • @arikadams2269
    @arikadams2269 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    also, do you prefer to delete the VVT or keep it? my goal is to build a reliable smooth running engine with good sounding exhaust. i dont need crazy power. This build is wild!!

      @@arikadams2269 if you not running an aftermarket cam then I would leave the VVT , that being said if you want reliable I would remove the DoD/Afm , once that is done you must look into the fact that the ramp rate in a stock DOD/AFM cam is different on the DoD lobes. So if you use a DOD/AFM cam after removing the DoD lifters you may get miss fire codes and loss of cylinder pressures. We have done it with DoD cams and we a have also deleted DoD and used a L8t cam which is non DoD but still has VVT…… sorry thats long winded.

      @@JustCantSitStill Thank you so much. I want to keep VVT and get rid of the DOD so it sounds like the L8T cam is what I need. You guys rock! 👊🏻 I have learned so much from your videos and your responses 👍🏻 thank you for sharing your knowledge 🍻

    so is this cam gear another way to VVT delete? as opposed to purchasing the VVT delete block/tool? LS4 wheel is like $30. Katech kit is $600!!!

      @@arikadams2269 I wish it was that easy they are specially modified Gen 4 gears, unmodified it will be retarded 7.5 degrees without correcting the camshaft timing. If you look close you can see they modded the cam dowel pin hole and also added a new timing mark.

      Definitely not. But they do look similar, valley cover gives it away.

    so wouldn't checking for clearance with the new push rods not part of the build?!
    sheeeeeesh i need to find an actual shop that will check things out for me and look out on my best interest than "i hope someone did their homework" SMDH

      I had to watch the video to see what your are referring to, if you look at the pinned comment from me or read the video description you will see the push rods were stock length nothing needed to be checked. But no fear we don’t want to build your engine I promise.

      i saw the pinned message but wouldn't checking that as the engine builder part of it?
      I'm not an engine builder i just watch videos 😁so that why i asked why wouldn't a simple check and measure not had been performed for the sake of the customer?

    • @JustCantSitStill
      @JustCantSitStill  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sheeeesh SMDH ……
      New oem head , stock deck height block , stock ‘LS7’ lifters no reason to check pushrod lengths , I don’t have a way to check them anyway, I did not order the parts , was asked to assemble. I am not an engine builder. We have put together over a hundred of these and can do it in my sleep at this point. I am sure a professional shop checks a lot of things that don’t matter and probably charges for that service. We are two old guys in the backyard. I don’t ask for business, good luck finding a shop that meets your requirements and standards, I have had to go behind a lot of them and correct issues.
