    Marcelo Bielsa will always be a hero at Elland Road and in the hearts of Leeds United fans, everywhere.
    Football can be be cruel at this level. I will miss him and, rather than angry or hopeful for the future, my overall feeling is of great sadness at his going. I understand the reasons, I understand the commercial dynamics, but I just feel that he deserved better. I hope that Jesse can understand if the fans give Marcelo a loud and resonant chanting and cheering send-off on Saturday, it's the least he deserves for giving Leeds back their pride and fight. Good luck Jesse, Huge boots to fill and we'll be with you and behind you all the way. Thanks Marcelo.

    I'm Argentinian. And believe me: it hurts us to all. We are united with Leeds forever. Because football is that: risk. Go forward. Not giving up. But for that, you need to have resources and a whole team convinced with you: and the current players no longer believed in Marcelo and turned their back on him. They should have resisted. Having fought for someone who never betrayed them. There are players in Leeds who come from the Championship and with Bielsa, they continued to play: that is loyalty. Bielsa was beaten by teams with millions of euros ahead. And with Bielsa they could save the season. God luck Leeds.

    • @hugoricardoponce1943

      Podía pasarle esto al loco, pero no tan rápido.
      Lo mejor para Marcelo.

      No creo que le hayan dado la espalda, simplemente no estaban al nivel de la Premier y su columna vertebral estaba lesionada. Soy fanático de Bielsa pero no veamos fantasmas donde no hay. Le pifiaron con los refuerzos y las pocas incorporaciones. También sabemos que Marcelo no tiene plan B. Donde le agarran el tiempo lo complican bastante. En todo caso la responsabilidad del presente de Leeds es compartida.

    • @futurez12
      @futurez12 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dude, you can't blame it on money, Leeds have a net spend of only £2m less than Liverpool this season, who are fighting for the title. There are many teams who've spent less who are above Leeds. Bielsa's tactics are far too aggressive. Throwing so many of his players forward for attacks left his team wide open, and most of his players are completely burned out by January, because of the ridiculous physical demands he puts on them. He never learned that lesson and it cost him his job. No wonder his players were tired of him, it was _literally_ the case.

    • @pablo.romero
      @pablo.romero 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@futurez12 Tired players? Check how is the training on Liverpool under Kloop or the City under Guardiola.
      Bielsa's system is not for common players. If players lose intensity they also lose faith in the tactic. And that's why they no longer believed in it. When the tactic falls, it is revealed what they are: Championship players.
      In addition, it should not be underestimated that playing fighting the category supposes extra mental pressure. If to save points, Leeds now will play hanging from the crossbar, they will lose the games anyway.
      To earn points, you must win the matches. And to win, you must attack.
      I hope under Jesse Marchs they will lose their fatigue and win every game. In that case, the players are traitors. If Bielsa wasn't fired, were they going to lose every game?

    I am gutted about the atrocious treatment of this man who rescued our team from two decades in the doldrums, of mis-management and ineptitude, managers changing like the weather. No plan, no strategy, no system. Bielsa was a revelation and he has been re-paid after promotion and one (great) first season in the Premiership with deceit, the rug pulled from under him. Off the pitch, he was loved even more, walked openly in his local community, stopped to sign kids autograph books, sat in peoples homes to chat, numerous examples of a genuine, decent man.
    Nothing of the sort from the faceless, greedy, ultra rich shareholders across the water who have no regard for honour or decency, the club, city, players or fans. Who think they are bigger than whatever currently exists, and can bully everyone to their 'new way forward' which is simply a means to make them even richer, raising the season ticket cost and shirt prices, everything. I detest their involvement in my club.
    They will never be accepted or loved by the fans as was Marcelo Bielsa, who earned a place in our hearts. Adios mi amigo.

      Really right and pointed words. I'm glad you wrote these ones. There is no time for an old managers like him the way contemporanenan comercial football is. But I think he is proud anyway even loosing in the last games, because with these looses he proves the football is and allways will be to learn to win and to learn to loose. The real important things are all that ones you describe. To show an identity, a way to be, the right one. No matter if u loose or if u win, Marcelo shows more than that. More than points he brought a way of live and feel a football club. Salutes my friend.

    I know hindsight is a luxury, but I think we should have kept Marcelo and got rid of the owner back then. The appointment of his successor was NEVER going to work, he was out of his depth from day 1. He wasn't even a "one trick pony", he was a "no trick donkey". We would have stayed up with Marcelo as the injured players recovered just in time for Mr America to reap the benefit. Most of his NFL cronies were bought in against the wishes of Orta and what a waste of money most of his signings were. Lack of motivation, effort, fitness, team spirit and in some cases, talent meant the writing was on the wall.
    No matter how badly results went under Bielsa, there was always that belief that he would ultimately triumph, not so once he was sacked. At least relegation means many of the mistakes will chase their next huge contract and we can blood so many of the youngsters desperate to follow the ethos of "team before self".
    If we can keep hold of Gnonto and some of those who DO want to play for pride and reputation we will be in a good place this time next season. I suppose Marcelo returning is a dream to far, but thanks for all your efforts, much appreciated.
