A good purge before filing seems to get the right volume in the 1lb most of the time. Those vents don't hold up long once you start using them. Plus I would imagine it will eventually influence the relief pressure tolerances and become less effective. Just my opinion though, thanks for the question.
@guerrillagorillalabs8673 Question - was your dog in the video a Caucasian Shepherd??(Russian guard dog known as "Bear Killer") my favorite kind and only to have.
Freezing is not the most practical way. Bleed of a little pressure after the first fill.. Then fill again, usually getting a full 1 lb propane, Best way for a long term emergency is attach a hose to 20 # tank.
The right way to fill a 1lb cylinder is to buy a REFILLABLE 1lb cylinder. Flame King or Fuel Keg work great. Refilling a disposable 1lb cylinder is not safe. How many gas explosions do you want to endure. None for me!
Thanks I use the 1 #ers for my buddy heater when hunting in my shack . Been wanting to to do this and now I know how! 8:20
Thanks for showing the proper scale to weigh the bottles
The best video how to refil. Thank you right to details.
How much gas is lost into the hose ?
Temperature follows pressure, and pressure follows temperature. Lesson one in HVAC.
I feel like the dog
Q- What do you do when you fill your 5 gal bottles??
A- you open the vent's until it fills up..
Why aren't you venting your small bottles??

Plus the wsy i understand it the bleed off on large tanks is usually a screw type and not just a pressure relief valve. Cheers.
OK you got it Big Dawg. I can fill 12 in the time it takes you to do one..

Wrong, you don't have to freeze your 1lb bottles
