I started watching your channel during pandemic. Can't believe it's been 4 years. It helped me immensely to get out of my own head and it was something I loved to watch daily instead of watching the news and seeing all that was going on in the world. I don't even knit! I do crochet though. But it was your realness and your creativity and joy of life even during the pandemic and now that keeps me watching and made me decide to become a member. Yours is the only channel I am a member of on TH-cam! Love you both.
I also watched them through the pandemic, luckily I started watching them faithfully all the way through. I don't knit either, but I enjoy crocheting. I became a member recently too, kindred spirit!
Arne! You are so skilled! I am always inspired by you two and your beautiful projects. So excited about the quilting, the new fabrics and the potential prints
Our middle school (grades 5-8) principal was known for wearing a tie every day. He had many designs and had many ties for every holiday. When he retired his wife gave a quilt maker many of his ties to make a quilt for him.
Another wonderful episode! Arne and Carlos, you are the most GENUINE superstars, and I am so blessed to know you. Your discussion about the Tie Quilt was a mini-design course. I just love to learn from you, and I hope I can attend one of your workshops someday. Wishing you a restful and inspirational summer as you prepare for another creative year. I have learned so much from you both and am looking forward to the 2024-2025 season. 🌞🌻🌞
Love the latest textile plans. Ties are sometimes used in Dresden plate quilt patterns. I’ve kept my husband’s old ties for a memory piece for him Kate of course is the quilt expert. X
You truly are wonderful ambassadors for Norway! It sounds like a really wonderful place full of interesting people, customs and so much art in all forms! Thank you so much for your videos!
Wonderful episode - so many topics! I am excited to see the supermarket episode. That should be very educational to see staple products from a different part of the world. Traditionally, the Log Cabin block had a solid red or yellow center for the strips to travel around. The center was the fire hearth in the center of the cabin. The light side was the side that was lit by the fire to represent the common part of the cabin (the kitchen, the living room) and the dark side was the sleeping area and was behind the fire.
love that you have kept the 'sit & knit for a bit' going, i think you saved a lot of us during the pandemic, love your creativity, enjoy your travels thanx for sharing
The cruises are so much fun. Arne taught me how to make the Christmas balls and do color work. Plus the other knitters are always willing to help. So much fun. Take one of their cruises.
You guys are amazing and absolutely interesting with everything you do! I mentioned you too friend saying how you like Farrow & Ball and Little Green paint! And you like William Morris fabric etc! Thank you as always! Xx 😘
❤ The hexagons are lovely! I would wear the ties, with a loose knot, with my linen shirt as necklace alternative! In art school, we start printmaking with woodblocks and once mastered, we go into linocut - they require such skill! - then etching/aquatints and lithography. Arne, you might enjoy collagraphy! I am very much looking forward to a trip to the grocery store! 🛒 Happy Sunday! ❤
Have finally joined as member looking forward to catching up with the extra videos etc! I have been following you from pandemic when i really appreciated your daily videos, made a difference! I remember watching you while making masks!
Happy Sunday! I will miss SAKFAB over the summer, but look forward to seeing all your Summer time adventures and gardening. Have a wonderful vacation! Hugs for Freja! ❤🤗😘
Good morning! I would love to go to the supermarket...I have heard about the food in tubes! You are always so much fun as well as inspirational and genuinely lovely people. A big thank you for all you do.
I found Kate when I had Covid and she talked about you,so looked you up and so so happy I did…I also watch Ant’s country living ,he’s Kate’s friend who is building her cabin…Arne will enjoy his woodwork…
Love the idea of recycled fabrics for a patchwork. Little worried about fraying,,so it will be interesting how to tackle this. You both looked so smart in your tuxedos.
Couple of comments about using ties. There is a great book called Daddy’s Ties. A lot of tips on using ties in quilting. You can get them used. Also, please make sure the tie fabric is colorfast before you put in a quilt. They can bleed pretty significantly.
Can't wait for the grocery shopping episode as well as the crazy quilt episode! You two are so inspirational to the rest of us-- Thank You so much for sharing your interests and processes 🩵
We have yellow-billed magpies here in Northern California that I’m obsessed with. They are beautiful birds! I’m so glad you put them in your collection!
Have a lovely summer in your wonderful garden enjoying your crafting. It will soon be August so make the most of the summer. Thank you Sian from North Wales 😊
I have used ties many times, wash them 1st to make sure they can handle it, then fuse to a lite weight pellon, use a good 1/4 " seam because they fray quite a bit. Love you guys. Tell Arne that Lodge has an iron skillet with Dolly on it....
I look forward to your show each week. Thank you for taking the time to share with us your life and inspirations. I had to look twice - thought the person peeking through your window was a real person. 😄
You guys inspire me so much! I loved you way before the pandemic, but I must say you made it so much better. The knitted squares kept me so busy I didn’t think so much about isolation. I still knit squares and Christmas balls all the time. Thanks so much for sharing your lives with us.❤️
I had a friend who made a Dresden Plate quilt from the shorter ends of ties. Mainly purchased from what we call here in Australia as charity shops and then when friends found out she was donated lots more. ended up making about three quilts in total and donated one to be raffled to raise funds for charity. Love that someone else is doing a similar project. Will watch with interest on your progress.
Have a wonderful vacation! I, too, so appreciated your videos during the pandemic. You are both amazing. Looking forward to hearing about your summer adventures😊❤
Have been watching you for ages it seems. Have you noticed that most of the people involved in knitting, crocheting, home sewing, etc always love to watch similar podcasts and encourage the participants to learn more and are available to help in whatever way they can. Congratulations to you for all you do and it is enjoyable to watch
It will be fun to watch your new quilt project. Making triangles out of fabric on the bias sounds like a challenge. I watch the youtube program called the catbird quilts. She uses mens shirts and has many videos about how to determine how much fabric you can get out of different size shirts. Keep up the good work
I discovered you when you designed those exquisite knitted Birds!! I loved them, so much❤!! I'd love to go on a cruise in Norway!! I saw the English lady who makes quilts had gone on the trip with you, and shared video, and pictures! I loved the grocery stores in Sweden and Norway! Especially the cheese, and chocolates!!
Standing and ironing fabric (for sewing a legging) for this sit and knit 😉 Can recommend the regular cruise! I met some nice people there, including Arne and Carlos 😅, still in contact with 2 of them, even visited one last year. And even my boyfriend enjoyed it a lot, without any knitting though. But he did take pictures of the northern lights (we were the lucky bastards that got to see it 5(?) nights in a row) and do something on his laptop 😊 Urke was a really small town just one supermarket (no yarn) but we reminisce about it and dream of relocating there and enjoy the nature and quiet... 👋 Oh and the Trollfjord 😍⛰️
This was great ! I love the crazy quilt fabrics- and the idea of using ties. The hexi is beautiful / magpie too . I always enjoy hearing about your travels , the stories are interesting . Thanks for this. You always inspire . You kept me company today on my walk . Crochet bags are lovely ! ❤ Marilyn xx USA
Hi guys loved the video today i love the fabric you enjoy your summer and will see you in August i will be watching for your podcast and emails so take care ❤
Carlos your hair looks great! Hello from Wisconsin….all is well here weather wise. Our prayer shawl group bought 300 dollars of yarn on sale this week. I’m trying to figure out where to put it. Steady group of knitters and crocheters. You both look healthy. I gave up caffeine three days ago and I feel so much better. Plenty of herbal teas out there. I need a vacation. If I go to Dollywood I promise to somehow text about it. If I see Dolly I will get her autograph for you! 😊❤
Yay! I just sat down with my toast and coffee and you had this lovely video ready for me. How did you know I needed it? Thanks and going to go watch it now.
Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces again at the end of summer, but will enjoy the tutorials every Sunday. Arne, you may not use that tiny scrap in your quilt, but I think we know you well enough by now to doubt that you will ever actually throw it away!
It would be a dream come true to go on a knitting cruise and meet both of you. Although I am painfully shy ❤. Speaking of Christmas, I am about to start knitting some Christmas balls from various years of your beautiful patterns for my children as a gift.
Another great video, so many new ideas to look forward in September. I love log cabin quilts and crazy quilts, so I'm excited to see them!!! Enjoy your summer, love from NC, USA.
Such a fun variety of topics in this episode! I have already found Mari Boine on Spotify, and my brain is teeming with ideas to make something with my husband’s old ties. And I got some knitting done while watching! I hope you have a wonderful summer, and I look forward to seeing you when you get back ❣️
My daughters partner is the PRinter at ADAMLEYS the last silk printing factory in uk..it has a wonderful archive of wooden Blocks for hand block printing. It prints silk for Saville row and liberty...in macclesfield which it part of the silk triangle of macclesfield, Leek and Congleton...macclesfidd has paradise mill fab museum which has all the jackard looms for weaving silk Leek is where wlliam morris went to his friend thomas wardle who discovered how to dye tussah silk in raven black...was not done well before ...also using organic dyes for morris fabric. Amazing history
I’m late to watch this one, but so glad I did! Thank you for the vinyl episode! So excited to check out the beautiful music recommendations - I learned about Kim Rysstad from your Setesdal series a few years ago, and I’m sure I’ll love these just as much. As a fellow American country music fan, I was blown away by Beyonce’s “Joleen” cover on American Requiem - and her “Blackbird” is superb as well (some trivia - the guitar accompaniment on her cover is Paul’s original master, which is the first time he has allowed it to be resampled in any version other than the Beatles’. Its an awesome rendition of an awesome song). Thanks as ever for your podcast and work in the world!
Very much looking forward to touring a Norwegian supermarket! Enjoy your summer 😊

Love your tie log cabin quilt Idea with dark and lights. Crazy quilts are my favorite😊
Wow. There is so much fun and interesting information in this video. ❤🎉 the crazy quilt I fantastic! I love it!

I love seeing your wonderful creations.
Hello Arne and Carlos! It's always a good visit with you both, thank you for sharing your stories!
Thanks for another great post 🎉
You truly are wonderful ambassadors for Norway! It sounds like a really wonderful place full of interesting people, customs and so much art in all forms! Thank you so much for your videos!
Thank you so much!
Enjoy your summer! It's like catching up with two wonderful friends every few weeks!
Like crazy quilts. Tie fabric works well in crazy quilts.

Love the log cabin quilt ,the first quilt I ever made was the log cabin….

Thank you boys. I’m so happy to hear that book will come out in English eventually. Thank you for the regular videos.
I was riveted while listening! And I agree with others about the Pandemic days. 4 years...unreal.
Have a wonderful vacation. You have earned it.
Agree with the Beyoncé selections including Blackbird with Paul McCartney mix. Happy Juneteenth America!
I love the log cabin idea. I have a silk Tie collection also. It’s a bit tricky because ties are generally cut on the bias of fabric.
I look forward to your pods ! So, so inspirational, funny, touching and informative! Keep up the great work!
I love Lewis & Irene fabrics, they are quite expensive but worth splashing out if the designs are really nice.
Yes, tell us about the loufoten cottage please!
❤ The hexagons are lovely!
I would wear the ties, with a loose knot, with my linen shirt as necklace alternative!

Arnie, love your humor! Many times what you say goes by really fast so we have to listen carefully!
Happy Sunday! I will miss SAKFAB over the summer, but look forward to seeing all your Summer time adventures and gardening.
Have a wonderful vacation! Hugs for Freja! ❤🤗😘
Thank you, loved hearing about the Queen’s awards. That crochet tote makes me want to learn to crochet!- Mary
I was looking for crazy patch work quilting and saw a video from you. I have been watching you since then

I'm so glad you are still doing these. Your creative and design backgrounds is such a gift to all of us. Plus, you're nice guys. Win Win!! 🧶🧶🪡🧵🎨
I love the magpie fabrics and the one with pinecones. ❤

Love the tote bag !!!
Wow! That is beautiful! Cannot wait till September!
You guys must be millionaires because of all the work you do

One of my friends made a whole dress from unpicked ties, it was stunning!
Enjoy your vacation! Looking forward to seeing you in August!
I love your new fabric, I live in Mexico and we don't have a lot of diversity in textiles but next time in the US I hope to buy some yardage.
Have a good holiday !
You as well Nicole!

You could make a tiny quilt for your dollhouse with the tiny scraps!
You have such interesting podcasts! ❤
Thank you!
You need a quilting design board like Kate @ The last homely house. Xx
Love your channel! Your quilt squares are awesome. Can't wait to see what comes of your log cabin pieces.
Love your shirts! The two colors complement each other.
So interesting!! I will be looking up the musicians you talked about!
It would be a dream come true to go on a knitting cruise and meet both of you. Although I am painfully shy ❤.

I love the parody that asks Jolene to take her man😮😅🎉❤🎉😊
My cousin is an artist and does oils but also prints in many mediums. She loves that medium. So many types to pursue.
Enjoy your time off ❤❤❤
The ties will make a beautiful quilt…
Thank you for this 'boys'!
😍
I was looking at the triangles in your door when you were talking about triangle quilt ❤ thank you both for another interesting episode ❤
Arne and Carlos I hope you have a wonderful, well deserved holiday. Please pet Freya for me
Log cabin blocks can be set into an 8-leaf rose layout. That would be a touch of respect to the Scandinavian tradition.

Ha, I mis-typed - Cowboy Carter, not American Requiem (which is track 1)
😍
