it’s amazing how you go on Arne, unraveling the yarn and form a “cake” Cannot use that word, it’s alien to me. Een garen oprollen tot een bol. Maybe it is how you do it since childhood. What we used to do is always do it with two persons. One holds the ball, the other has the yarn around his or hers arms and then you both can have rolled it loads in a quicker pace because there is less entanglement during the rolling if both persons are attentive on the possible hiccups. With threatening knot forming the one who holds the yarn can turn or step back or avoid the knot by a preventative step. Cannot explain it very well but I did it many times when I was younger, because my mum was always knitting things for her 4 children and I learned to do the procedure with her from an very early age. You both have brought back memories. Anyway, together you can prevent entangled yarn. Possibly if you never did it that way it will not work for you. I really enjoyed the gardening shorts in pyjamas. You made me laugh a lot and I am looking forward to see more this summer. Thanks for sharing this with us!❤❤❤
You guys are just the best! First, I just smile listening to you talk about anything and second I have never thought to hold the yarn in my arms to wind it into a ball. You taught me to knit about a year, year and half ago and I love it.
I love being part of the Arne and Carlos family. I am just like Arne. I have a craft room that is filled with yarn, fabric, etc & it is completely disorganized. I am going to organize it this summer.
Yes, people are very nice. You both are lovely …you are kind and entertaining and talented and so much more. I feel very blessed that you share your adventures with us..🌸💕
Oh my goodness, you two....!!! 🤣🤣 I had to laugh when Carlos described Arne unearthing his projects the same as a Roman archeological dig and then later as the opening of the grave of Tutankhamon. LOL!! Arne, on the other hand, has youth on his side, as he looks great for 29.❤❤ I really enjoyed this Sit and Knit for a Bit. I just love love LOVE the dead woman's/blind woman's needlepoint picture. What an idyllic setting. Winding yarn is something I really enjoy doing; it's so relaxing, especially at the end of a work day when I'm brain dead. Usually I rely on the back of a chair to do it, but seeing both of you using your arms inspired me to do the same last night. Love all the other projects on the table. You are both an inexhaustible source of inspiration. 🥰🥰
I truly enjoy your podcasts not only because of our love of wool and knitting, but because of all that I learn from your wonderful experiences. You travel to parts of the world I’ll never see (80 years old) but envision through your descriptions and stories. You brighten and enhance my world each time I watch an episode. Keep up the wonderful work. You are like family!😊
So I’m sitting here listening to your redecorating adventures when I began watching Arne wind the yarn and noticed he has yarn on both arms and is winding off his arms! I’ve never seen this before now! Being that my life has been turned upside down, I’m having to hand wind new skeins into balls without my useful tools. This is great!
Shrink, shrank, shrunk--- Arne, you're precious! 🩵 Thanks for sharing and bringing us up to date on all the goings on around your beautiful home-- the new window sounds amazing 🥰 Take care, guys ❤
Hello Arne and Carlos. It's funny you mentioned excavating your projects. I recently did a 'stash dive' so deep that I told my friend I felt like an archeologist. The yarn I'm using for a baby blanket was purchased decades ago. I originally used it to make a blanket for my oldest niece, who turned 40 last year.
Shrink and shrunk LOL! Arne you're so good and absolutely brilliant. I love the needle cases and I would also be very interested in a video on draping. Trying out techniques on a doll is good practice without using lots of fabric. The garden looks beautiful Carlos. You both look great in your T-shirts too. It is the middle of winter here in New Zealand so seeing you outside in the sunshine helps me forget how short our days are right now.
I have never seen anyone undo and ball up a hank without a swift or the back-to-back chairs. 😮 Arne and Carlos, you are an amazing wealth of knowledge. I was almost dizzy seeing all of the finds from your archeological "dig". 😉 I try my best to be monogamous within each of my 3 crafts - quilting, knitting, and crochet. I think if one has a lot of projects to finish they will have a long life. 😊❤
Hello from the driftless region of Wisconsin. Saw you rewinding yarn so I did the same. Going to recycle into baby socks for my first great grandson. Thanks for keeping me company. Enjoy your boat trip!
I’m not much older than Arne, but have nowhere near his level of energy! You two fascinate me with all your different activities! Thank you for letting us share your lives! X
You can’t be doing everything, both of you, however enjoy all we see and sharing time with you. So thank you for that. I like those two colours together . The colours of my living room they look good together. Sounds like as ever, you start a job them you end up.changing everything , then all other rooms end up being sorted. Sounds like all should soon be sorted fingers x. Yes I love the teal colour. I bet your happy you were not walking the wall this week , it’s been up to 31 deg. Really warm. Sounds like been warm where you are as well.Poor you Carlos you were trying your best, getting rid of rubbish. Look forward to seeing your new window. It’s nice to go out in your pjs. Nice and relaxing to wear. I do the same very often. Your shorts are good. Rub a bit of Vaseline in the bottom of your nose it helps stop the pollen going up your nose. Really helps. The black and white item looked very complicated. But nice. Wow the picture on the canvass will take you forever, but will be something special. Are you sure Carlos that Arne tidying his room was a good idea. Hehe.
I am not a knitter but I always enjoy your videos. I got started on your channel after watching Kate’s videos at The Last Homely House. Those were wonderful too. Thank you so much for sharing of your time and talents. You are both so talented and kind.
What a lovely gift this episode was! At the end of a stressful day, nothing is better than sitting down with you two (as if I'm there with you) and share in the latest on your activities and adventures. And, by the way, nothing sounds more enjoyable than a knitting dinner cruise while discussing knitting with you! I look forward to a relaxing summer of viewing your videos. As always, that you for your sharing! 🥰 P.S. Love the Pajama Gardeners shorts!
This reminds me of the "old" Sit and Knit for a Bits. I just love the casual talking about your day and all of the projects. I feel like I am in your summer garden space just listening to you. Wonderful! Thanks so much!
Arne is right- just following the chart is the solution. 😊 Both the pattern and charts worked for me. I tend to count the repeats until I can follow the “knitting”.
It was very sweet for that lady to send you the tee shirts. I am amazed by all the projects you have on the go. I am happy you got a new window. I do enjoy your chat. ❤
My husband and I visited the happy sheep while on the Lofoten Islands in May. I bought some yarn and the young lady working there explained the dying process and we saw some yarn being dyed. It was a lovely visit, and we also met another young lady there who was a designer. Your friend was away that day. The happy sheep had babies and the little lambs running around were a joy to see. Thanks to you we had a lovely time on the Islands! ❤
I didn't stop smiling the whole time I listened to this chat. It felt like I was across the table from you enjoying a beautiful day and talking about favorite things. Thank you!
Love your tshirts and accomplishments in everything you do! I’m exhausted just listening to all of your activities but they are all so rewarding for you and invigorates us viewers ❤
I love thinking of cleaning as an archeological excavation. Inspiration for me cleaning my sewing room after I had the new windows installed. Thank you! I am currently buying men's shirts from thrift shops and using them for the fabric.
About the Telemark Canal trip…I think the word you were looking for is “lock”, which is that “bathtub” that fills with water and raises boats to the next level. Not far from where I live (Ontario) are the 2 highest LIFT locks in the world…kind of like an elevator for the ships. One of these is about 20 m high, there other lifts the ships 15 m.
I have at least 4 pairs of garden gloves. I've used them 2 or 3 times in 45 years. LOL I NEED to feel the plants and the soil when I'm weeding and cleaning the garden.
I haven’t started the Peacock Scarf yet but Arne’s explanation of 3 & 4 & 7 stitches, and the marker being the centre of the chart, sounds really helpful. I understood it. It’s my holiday project in Austria next week. 😊
Great update. Lovely to see some of your older projects like the horse shirt and the steeked black and white cardigan. It’s interesting to look at unfinished projects with fresh eyes and make tweaks to them. Happy for your windows and all your other projects that are keeping you busy.
It’s always so good to see you both! I love the view of your house from where you’re sitting! I also love the beautiful colors in the scarf you’re going to finish as well as the gorgeous yellow yarn you’re making into a ball.
This was lovely, thank you!💖 I hope you really enjoyed traveling through the lock system on the canal. I know the Lunde bird on your yarn as a Puffin. Very delicious wool! I never get to watch when you are live on Wednesdays, as I am taking my mom to Aquafit... but I always catch up in the evening!🤗
I have a bird nesting in a fake plant basket hanging off a hook on my porch. I was going to trash it this year but I can't until the babies fly away now. The handle broke so we had to replace it with wire so the mom can finish raising the babies LOL. It's a chipping sparrow and she has 5 little ones in that tiny nest. I really like climbing Clematis. Love the goblets and the yarn. Fun needle cases.
WOW! A very wonderful episode!!! So very many beautiful and wonderful projects and colors and ideas!!! I lost track of how many projects you had on the table and how many balls of yarn! Thank you all very much for making and sharing this video! I loved the entire episode! I hope you have great time on the locks (lochs ?). Best wishes always and thanks!
Hi guys, watching SAKFAB, and knitting the scarf 😊. I had to unravel twice because I made mistakes, but now it is coming beautifully, and once you get it, it's very easy. Love the stitch. I'm glad about your new window and being able to have that amazing view of the lake. Enjoy your trip 😀.
Yes! Arne please do a tutorial about tailoring for dolls. I have an English Sasha doll who needs a dress. She has nothing, poor dear. I found a blue and white check women's blouse at the thrift store yesterday that is perfect for a classic Sasha dress. but I need help.
I use to hand pick my weeds from the gravel when I had my big property then I started using the vinegar, salt and dish soap spray, ta da…love it and highly recommend it. Just catching up on all the episodes after a 3 week trip to Italy.
Such a lovely episode. Just like you Carlos I like to get my hands dirty while I am gardening. Arne will you ever finish all your projects? They are all so pretty but where will you find time. Wishing you a lovely weekend and trip and see you next time. 🧶🧡
It is fun to see all the things you are finding as Arne cleans especially that large needlepoint! That will be amazing when it is finished but will definitely take some time. My Mom used to do needlepoint and did many over the years but nothing as large as that one! Carlos I understand about picking the weeds out of gravel as I have to do the same as we have a few flowerbeds with gravel in them. It is a job I don't like but have to do it anyway!
Finally catching up with you guys, after some busy weeks. While listening to your videos, I was handsewing a cover for the inside of a cushion (in which goes the filling) (boring to do), but found myself very motivated to hear about your travels, projects, gardening, etc. I share a lot with Arne: I am a Cancer too (will be 70, and I can assure you that age doesn't prevent to be creative and enthusiastic about a lot of things). I declutter my yarn wardrobe from time to time and clutter it again; I buy 2 of a thing almost all the time; I have a childish mine. So, I think Arne is my twin brother. By brother and brother-in-law!
Hi boys! I hope you were able to get a refund on the “black hole” window. I was enthralled watching how easily Arne hand wound his yarn. I use a swift and ball winder or back of a chair. It’s so nice to hear how caring you both are about the “widow” bird. Looking forward to more shorts! 🥰
Such a lovely episode! 😊Catching up on Thursday afternoon, as I’m always at work on Wednesdays when these go out live. Knitting (a Swedish mitten pattern), and sitting in the garden enjoying our fabulous weather in the UK, listening to you both. Perfect! 👍🏻🤗
hi guys so happy with all your things you talked about today i enjoy the pj videoes your shirts looks great that was a great walk you did i hope you enjoy your boat trip which i know you will so have fun and i will see you on the next one i am here crocheting a little bird while i am watching you take care
I’ve finished watching now, great episode boys. Have a wonderful birthday Arne. Thank you for the discount on the pattern, I bought it. And yes, yes, yes to anything doll related.
The word for water gate on a canal you're looking for is a "lock"... we just got back from sailing in the Netherlands and Germany and there were a lot of locks for us to get through, but we've now done it so often, we're old hands lol One day we'd love to go through the Göta canal in Sweden, one day...
I haven't finished excavating my studio, neither, Arne. It has been overwhelming. I also discovered stuff that I didn't remember!. Time to become minimalist.
Hi from British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦 wondering if you could show your new bedroom window from the inside and from the outside? The window sounds lovely 🏡
hah, i'm trying to knit socks but i have trouble watching & knitting, tend to drop stitches.... love your shows, a lot of fun & you keep it real which is wonderful. thanx for sharing
Oh, I'm so impressed that you can wind a ball with the yarn around your arms! I have to put them around two chair backs or around my knees! I have one of those sneaky shrinking closets, too! Your horse shirt, Arne, is quite cool! You are so good! I do hope you give us a sneak peek at the cabin...I've been curious about it for a long time! I'd also love to see the new and improved windows!
Don't count, just knit. Love it! I agree, some people over think things way too much, just knit! Thank you for another lovely episode Arne and Carlos! Have a great week!
I empathize with Arne. I recently unpacked a box from my last move in 2007. A beautiful hoodie made of brown Icelandic wool. No sleeves, no hood, no pattern, no needles and 1 ball of yarn.. Oops! It will be delightful if I can find the rest of the pieces!
Arne maybe it’s hay fever with so much pollen! Love the finds Unfinished projects are amazing ! I can remember you knitting sweater the ones blue sleeves you showed on camera just now! Your garden looks amazing! Love T-shirts ! Thank you as always! Xx ❤️
It’s amazing how items shrink in the closet! Found quite few in mine closet these last weeks 🥴. Yes it sounds like allergies for Arne. Love your videos ❤
What a wonderful podcast. I have to say I like your prerecorded ones better the the live casts. I feel like you are more relaxed and conversational. I love seeing you each week either way. 🙂
Love seeing all of Arne's UFOs as he sits and winds wool to start a new project! Glad to know I'm not alone! Love your shirts and the view of sitting in the garden today. Hope you have a blessed day. Hugs for Freja. ❤️🤗😘
I do not have as many projects as Arne, but I love the needlepoint pictures! I was a professional stitcher for a couple years for a design company based in California. I got horribly burned out on it but loved it while it lasted. We collect neuronss from Mother Earth so I go barefoot as much as I can! Good to see you both looking so content.
Arne! I *adore* that needlepoint canvas “of your childhood.” If you get stalled on completing it, I volunteer to help. It is charming. I want one exactly like it.

I love to sit in a recliner with my knees up. I drape the hank around my legs and wind my ball of yarn.

🤣Arne is having difficulty with conjugation today. Shrink, shrunk, shrank😂
So funny watching Carlos having tangles issues💕🎶. I must focus when winding yarn😊
Shrink, shrank, shrunk--- Arne, you're precious! 🩵 Thanks for sharing and bringing us up to date on all the goings on around your beautiful home-- the new window sounds amazing 🥰
Take care, guys ❤
You as well Cindy!

I enjoyed the archaeological dig. The grey/yellow colourway is lovely and I have bought the wrist warmer pattern. Your garden is looking lovely. tfs 😀
Videos about draping, pattern making and tailoring would be incredible, and a great addition to your channel!
Hello from the driftless region of Wisconsin. Saw you rewinding yarn so I did the same. Going to recycle into baby socks for my first great grandson. Thanks for keeping me company. Enjoy your boat trip!
OM I’m in Baraboo!
I truly enjoy listening to you gents recite your adventures. Your joy is palpable. It reminds me to live, love, laugh, create!
I’m not much older than Arne, but have nowhere near his level of energy! You two fascinate me with all your different activities! Thank you for letting us share your lives! X

Welcome to our channel Pam! No need to knit
A boat gets raised and lowered on a canal via a lock.
A thoughtful gift that fits you both so perfectly. How did Linda know your shirt sizes? Looking good in your "I walked the wall" tees.
Gul Lunde is a puffin? Very cool bird.
The talent never ends! Knit, embroidery, sewing, fashion design, yarn winding- it is endless…
Arne is right- just following the chart is the solution. 😊 Both the pattern and charts worked for me. I tend to count the repeats until I can follow the “knitting”.
Arne, those horses are amazing! What a fantastically talented person you are! 👏👏👏
It was very sweet for that lady to send you the tee shirts. I am amazed by all the projects you have on the go. I am happy you got a new window. I do enjoy your chat. ❤
Arne’s discarded yarn would make a fun prize!
Such adorable needle quilted cases! Love your design!
Wow Arne, look at those floats. Beautiful work.
My husband and I visited the happy sheep while on the Lofoten Islands in May. I bought some yarn and the young lady working there explained the dying process and we saw some yarn being dyed. Thanks so very much for bringing sunshine to this rainy day in Wisconsin, Arne and Carlos!!!
Wisconsin, represent!
We want to see the cabin project. Do give us a tour.
Love your horses on canvas inserted on your shirt. Great idea.
Love your tshirts and accomplishments in everything you do! I’m exhausted just listening to all of your activities but they are all so rewarding for you and invigorates us viewers ❤
Keep up the great work! Love hearing about your projects, days events and all your many interests. ❤
I love thinking of cleaning as an archeological excavation. Inspiration for me cleaning my sewing room after I had the new windows installed. Thank you! I am currently buying men's shirts from thrift shops and using them for the fabric.
Nice
Beautiful canvas, I remember when you bought those! That farm scene is big enough for a headboard!
The mountain lake scene will make a lovely backdrop, Arne!
True

I love the horse shirt project! I've read recently about using needle felting to patch/repair a wool garment, I'm anxious to try that!
I haven’t started the Peacock Scarf yet but Arne’s explanation of 3 & 4 & 7 stitches, and the marker being the centre of the chart, sounds really helpful. I understood it. It’s my holiday project in Austria next week. 😊
Have a wonderful holiday! Austria is my all time favourite destination (next to my home)!
Great update. Lovely to see some of your older projects like the horse shirt and the steeked black and white cardigan. It’s interesting to look at unfinished projects with fresh eyes and make tweaks to them. Happy for your windows and all your other projects that are keeping you busy.
What a thoughtful gesture to give you the shirts. And she got the size right 😊
It’s always so good to see you both! I love the view of your house from where you’re sitting! I also love the beautiful colors in the scarf you’re going to finish as well as the gorgeous yellow yarn you’re making into a ball.

Arnie and Carlos thank you for your video. It is wonderful visiting with you. Love your stories and seeing your work. Good luck with the yarn!
Your thumbnail looked like an armful of spaghetti. 🤩Who knew that I could be my own swift when winding a ball of yarn from a skein. Great tip!
Hi guys, watching SAKFAB, and knitting the scarf 😊. I had to unravel twice because I made mistakes, but now it is coming beautifully, and once you get it, it's very easy. Love the stitch.

Such a lovely episode.

Thank you for joining!

For your canal trip it is a lock when the water level changes and the gate opens. Love barge cruising. Enjoy your mini cruise!
Thank you so much Yvonne!
hi guys so happy with all your things you talked about today i enjoy the pj videoes your shirts looks great that was a great walk you did i hope you enjoy your boat trip which i know you will so have fun and i will see you on the next one i am here crocheting a little bird while i am watching you take care
I know that bird to be a Puffin, a burrowing shore bird! Cute as a button!
Thank you both. My mum (Belgian) used to wind wool like that. She didn’t like “caked” yarn so never wanted to change. 😉❤️
I’ve finished watching now, great episode boys. Have a wonderful birthday Arne. Thank you for the discount on the pattern, I bought it. And yes, yes, yes to anything doll related.
Arne, is that beautiful picture a needlepoint picture? It is gorgeous. Those quilted needle cases are lovely, good job!
Hope you had a great tour. Happy birthday to Arne, and have a nice tour to Lofoten. Thank you for sanfab!
The horse shirt up cycling is brilliant!😮
We all have our own yarn winding methods!
I really like to listen to you guys. So happy to see you.
I love your conversations. Arne unfinished projects, makes me feel okay to have mine. Some day they will all be done. I hope.
Don't count, just knit. Love it! I agree, some people over think things way too much, just knit! Thank you for another lovely episode Arne and Carlos! Have a great week!
Just started the peacock scarf. Loved this episode so much. ‘Excavating Rome’ just knocked me out.
Would never have thought to wind wool holding it across my arms. I just love to listen to you both and watch what happens next.🌻🌻 From South Africa 🌻🌻
I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Thank you Leanne
Lovely video, so enjoyable watching and seeing everything you make. Motivates me to get on with my own projects. Love the teeshirts!
Thank you!
Arne! I *adore* that needlepoint canvas “of your childhood.” If you get stalled on completing it, I volunteer to help. It is charming. I want one exactly like it.
We are getting ready to move, and I have definitely found old projects haha! I love that colorful scarf Arne!
I have been busy, but I am so glad I was able to watch and catch up abit. Hope your boat ride on the canal was fun.
I haven't tried because I don't have any gravel areas, but I have read that if you don't want anything to grow there ever, you can salt the ground...
WOW YOU GUYS ARE SOOOOOOOO LOVED 🥰💕
Lol! I saw your clip of gardening in your PJ's. So Im not the only one wandering around my garden in PJ's!! Kim from Australia
I also garden early morn in pj's...actually I go out with my morning coffee on the deck and see a weed.. an hour kater I have to rewarm my coffee .
OMG I love the orange jumper - I would have loved to see it finished.
