Thanks buddy! I had 1 free slot and there’s nothing valuable to add to the build so I just picked defense which is irrelevant tbh. I have never used or cared about defense decorations or skills in this game cause it encourages you to be a poor gamer and learn way too slow ;-)

I have some questions for you if you don‘t mind :) Is the Alatreon weapon or any of the armor good for cb? Wondered about the latter since you are using resentment in this video which the Alatreon armor gives. It also gives health boost, which while not the best skill for speed running is very nice for a more casual player like me :D Then second are you planning on making a video about cb builds?

You’re always welcome to ask questions and regarding the new CB I think it’s trash at the moment jus looking at the stats since it may have more dragon element but the Crit Element bonus with the Kjarr elemental weapons is far superior so basically the layered CB is the best thing from that. The armour pieces are dope except for the legs so yeah defo got something good from it! Great run, especially with that big tigrex. That missed SAED calculation was painful, you had a chance at sub 3 if you did AED into a stagger or topple.
I have taken a break tbh, I was running Alatreon and the fact I had to wait every other day to run it was burning my out with frustration because I loss my momentum being forced to take 24 hour breaks each time and having a family means I have to sacrifice some days which again losses greater momentum. It’s ok for PC runners since they can mod and practice their runs anytime. With regards to clutch claw mechanics, imo I don’t think my opinion is really valid since I haven’t played MH base game enough to remember what’s it like without Clutch claw. Personally I think it’s a great addition since it makes the runs more varied like do you clutch and tenderise or keep doing your biggest attacks. And for team runs it adds another dimension like who grabs the clagger and when, plus who does dps and this is extra strats depending on your weapon choices between the team. If we never had clutch claw, the game would be way to easy unless they attempted to make the monsters stronger and/or faster to balance it then the community will really complain... the issue with claw claw is that it’s clunky and poorly integrated, not the actually addition to it. But again I’m one of the newest speedrunners in the game so my opinion I don’t feel so valid. Thx for the awesome support and great questions!
With this build I’m using the Kjarr Water CB which has the best natural white sharpness out of all the Kjarrs. You can use a Sharp Jewel which would give you infinite sharpness for 60s once you sharpen and if you partner that up with a Hard Enduring jewel (item prolonger) it gives you 3 lvls and you will get a further 30s for infinite sharpness plus increases your food buffs by 1min 30s on top of the 3min. Masters touch is great for impact CB builds where you need to make sure your hitting weak spots and have 100% affinity where possible. So be patient with your strikes and hit those weak spots. Raising your guard skill to counter knockbacks will also reduce sharpness loss, since guarding the 3 different types of knockbacks will affect how much sharpness you lose too and guarding large knockbacks is the worst way to lose sharpness. Hope this helps!

I just saw the title and thought to myself "CB...Tigrex...in 3 minutes, you must be kidding!" :-D I got back to mhw a few weeks ago and there is so much to do and to learn...when i stopped playing i was at HR 150+ and pretty much endgame. Also i am a CB main and got an embarrasing question, but i still don't really get the difference betwen impact and elemental phials, would you mind do explain that to me? I really enjoy your vids and your skill with the CB!

I know it’s not really related to the video, but do you know of any resources that lists the guard level required for each monster for small knockbacks? This would be extremely helpful for my sets
Excellent question, but unfortuantely no I don't lol, everything is through memory and experience. It's simple, every monster Guard 1 is suitable with the exception of Brute Tigrex who needs Guard 3 until you break it's head which doesn't take long (thus Guard 1 is still sufficient), then you'll need Guard 5 for both Rajangs, Safi, Alatreon and Ruiner Nergigante.
Awesome run, great music choice, this is getting me hype for my night of CB practice. I've a question, I have talked about this with another TH-camr on their stream earlier and there doesn't seem to be a great difference overall but I'm the type who likes the nuances of expert opinion. I have just decided in the last couple days that CB is my next weapon since I have SnS comfortably figured out as my 5th weapon and over 500 SnS hunts. The issue comes that I have ran out of MR KT materials to upgrade kjarr ice CB. End goal is solo Alatreon soon with CB, and which CB should I build around for Alatreon, beo or frostfang cb?

Personally I don't like giving advice unless I've tested something but based on the stats of the weapons if you're soloing and following the current meta in how to defeat Alatreon without any guard skill, than I would probably comfortably say the Deep Schnegel II is the best option, however if you're using Guard 5 build which is completely viable, then that's where it's tough to say... Since the Frostfang CB is an Impact CB and a Guard 5 build playstyle would have a lot more impact to the face and the strategy would be a little different since you will make up the damage from the KO's. I don't feel qualified giving proper advice on this but that is my assumption and hope it helps!
I play on PC and my controller broke during pandemic. All purchases I attempt were cancelled and I was forced to play with a keyboard to this day. I play like an idiot first but I started to like keyboard so much after messing up with the button inputs. Don't get me wrong, I still play like an idiot but it's likely caused by my head not the keyboard lol
You crack me up!! KBM takes time to get used to but i believe the PC users out there is probably 50/50 on using KBM or controller. That’s just a complete assumption but prob not far off, if anything more ppl using KBM.
I'm using KBM, and my main is CB. My first couple of hours was rough (this is my first ever mh), but after that it's quite intuitive, and my muscle memory works decently (well compared to how I first started out at least).
@@zickosaurusrex I play all other games (except Hollow Knight) with KBM. I even got all achievement in Dark Souls trilogy using it. My main problem is that the button mapping in this game is sht. They have patched it multiple time but it's still uncomfortable. I have to remapped a lot of them to make it at least bearable. Oh and don't forget how the button have different mapping with ranged weapon lol.
You are the first and made me correct my mistake, it's my R1 lol!! Whatever button, it's so fucking disappointing considering how much we pay for these things...

I have a question, when I use the CB especially in Savage Axe mode, my sharpness meter goes down very quickly. How to counteract this?

@@PF_Rider I do reverse the button mate because the original Monster Hunter from PS2 got the run on R2 & block on R1 and I'm used to it :P
