He is machining this all wrong. He did not balance the part while they are spinning in the lathe. The machining of the part is completely off balanced and this person needs to learn how to properly use a lathe before using it. He is going to kill someone!

about shaft- you make it wrong - u-joints should be in same postions on both sides of shaft! its very important, if you didnt fix it you will have braking bearings inside joints

I don’t see the point in the adapter plate, because it would be possible to put on chains or belts, the second would be even better, because the centrifugal, for example, in this case, will not live long and will quickly fail

Ok you have a lathe and machining skills. Please make proper spacers, after everything you made you used nuts as spacers. The nuts make it look horrible. Otherwise it's very cool.

I am gearing up to cast an adapter out of aluminum to mate my opposed twin experimental aircraft engine to a flywheel and clutch for a MGB transmission and then to a driveshaft and rear for a replica 1928 Morgan RIP GN special hillclimb racer. I may do it your way. I wil be video-ing it either way.
You should cut some pipe that fits your bolts and weld them to your motor plate instead of all of them nuts. Looks good man can’t wait to see move great ideas

To mark out the wood/ plate, put it flat on the bench and stand the gearbox on it, it is easyer and you can mark all round in one shot.😀 .

What I have done in the past was used some transparent perspex to make the template for the adapter plate.

All depends on gearing honeslty. But that clutch is cheap and easy so it shouldn't be a huge deal.

Way to heavy.... And once you got up in the RPMS it wouldn't come down very fast if at all. The velocity of a 10+lbs flywheel would eat the engine.

I think I’d put a little longer slip yoke in that driveline. How much suspension travel are you putting in that 4x4?
