    Amazing to see how far you've gone in 7 years, keep it up guys! I've been looking at something similar to the E30 smileys but bigger to retrofit to 7" sealed beam cars. The idea is to keep the fluting with a clear area in the center for the projector. That'd give us the amazing beam pattern of a projector with the more period-correct look of a sealed beam. I know the Holley Retrobrights exist but their reflector pattern is a compromise some are not willing to make (like myself). Hope you take this idea and make something like that in the future!

    • @theretrofitsourceinc6346

      +MikeandSamonPC thats done before the lens cover is resealed on the housing. Mount the rear buckets to the vehicle, and use JB Steel stick to tack the projector in place (While lit up so you can see the beam) and then go over that with a full layer of JB weld to make it permanenet once you've got the alignment right

    I feel you skipped the most important part. Aligning up the the projector inside the new headlight housing so the aim is correct. It would totally suck to get it all glued in and find out it was set in pointing down, up, left or right too far to be adjusted.

    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re absolutely correct, I would always recommend mounting them to the vehicle and making sure you’re good to go rotationally before making it permanent!
