Just ordered a pair of D2S's and 5800k 50wt bulb from you guys last week to retrofit my 2005 Tacoma. Perfect timing! What brand housing was that you guys are using?!? I bought one that looked EXACTLY like it and was Spec D brand. The G DAMN thing was sealed with permaseal and I demolished them. Wound up salvaging the clear reflectors and clear turnsignal lens. Please for the love of all that is good and holy link to where to get those headlight assemblies that look like that but are sealed with butyl?

Very close to what I’m looking for. Do yall have a video of a hid retrofit on a 2011 Tundra? I guess they Tacoma and Tundra would be wired differently? Since my 2011 Tundra isn’t bi xenon.

I want to get the ACME universal Retrofit kit for my 04 Tacoma, but the info mentions a recommended "optional precision bulb holder" yet nowhere in the selections menus does it have for me to select it for order.

who manufactures or sells these headlight housings with the grey reflector? are they the Lumen brand from CarID? or could you post a link to where they're from
There are many different manufactures but the was a custom job.
Does a 2015 Tacoma need the hi/lo beam connection or does it have the h4 style connection?

By taking the reflector bowl out and placing it on a bench ~25' from the wall, why wouldn't it be more beneficial to leave the reflector in the housing? Do y'all use a jig to place the reflector bowl in to align it perfectly? I'm installing 4.0 d2s in the same headlights, will the alignment washer set the projector level regardless? Thanks in advance! I'm very excited to complete my install!
We left the reflector out of the headlight incase the reflector needed to be trimmed more when aligning the beam pattern up with the factory beam pattern. We don't have a jig, but we used tap to mark where the headlight/reflector is sitting to ensure that it's in same spot as before. The alignment washer will set the horizontal level, but may still require some tweaking. You'll also need to trim the back of the reflector as well so that the nut will thread to the threads.

I would say 90% solid install vid. But please give this guy a script to read. I lost count of the number of times he says “now’’ after 1237.
Also do not skip parts where you make the actual cuts. Would like to have seen you start the retrofit using the factory removed headlights. What you stated with was not the same factory headlights.

So these things arent street legal? I want to do this 13 taco, but Im not trying to be getting pulled over for headlights, especially living here in California where everything already ridiculously expensive. I dont want any tickets added to the list of things I have to pay
They are unfortunately not street legal, I wish they were! What I can tell you is that in an off-road application, these lights will produce a totally safe and usable beam out front!
@@RetrofitSource Well I understand that you guys from TRS cant say it, but Im sure most people are doing these retrofits for vehicles driven in the streets. Id like to know from anyone that has done this retrofit. What are the chances of actually being pulled over for it or is it really something that as long as the headlights are properly aimed and not glaring the shit out of people cops wont be able to tell the difference.
Those projectors should produce a safe and accurate beam pattern, and shouldn't bring any extra attention, other than positive, to your headlights!
Technically these setups are highly illegal, but you're not gonna be "that guy" with the PNP HID kit or jumping forward to present day with the replacement LEDs that's blinding everyone on the road at night. With lenses in good condition and the the headlights aimed properly, you shouldn't be causing anyone any grief at night.
You already have a trim tool that you call a " spreader" the actual reason for the tool is to remove clips

Everything in this tutorial was so clean until he got to the OEM plugs, ground bolt(s), and battery positive terminals LOL

You didn't explain how to align and aim the beam at all.
