Excellent video, Andy! One minor nitpick - it's a good idea to lubricate the filter o-ring before install (although it picks up oil as you roll it into place).
You forgot to take out that black hex head bolt before the oil filter to drain it out to save all the spillage when removing the oil filter just an FYI.
Why are you using a cheap filter you're not using a mobile one or a wix seems odd to me this is why I don't bring my car to a shop to get an oil change done low quality Parts because it's the easiest way for people to make money also in a GDI motor you're definitely want to change your oil every 3000 miles use good oil use a good filter maybe an oil additive personally I like Lucas but to each their own if they want to add one or not the filter is the main thing along with a quality oil just seems kind of weird to me
While I agree and I am using Mobil 1 FS Right meow, a 3 oz per quart dose of motor kote and Mobil 1 20k filter. I definitely had to shoot this video after work and my oil didn't come in time 😅 GDI engine will always deposit on your intake valves so either way that's always gonna be a worry. Gonna have to media blast my runners here soon so I'll be posting that video.
This is why I advise people put a mark (white nail polish works well) on the housing lined up with a mark on the filter housing - that way, when tightening, you'll know when to stop when tightening.

I use syl lube to lubricate o rings same as on an airplane works better than oil..
Don't use oil use silicone lube same as on an airplane o ring for oil..👍

I don't use that port. Just take out the filter housing slowly
Thanks for the video in regards to an Equus. First time seeing it because most vids show a Genesis even tho it’s the same motor. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
The 2011 Genesis has the same plastic housing. I over torqued that on accident and it sprayed oil everywhere. That was not a very good day.

Its that normal that the level of oil was low ? My engine have around 60000miles or 100000km
