I never had heating issues using my S23 Ultra. My 14 Pro Max on the other hand, heats a lot, drops frame rate, lowers brightness, and later lags when playing highly intensive games.
I have seen heating issues in some reviews and comments. I suspect like with all chips there is a percentage that is subpar. Some unlucky people end up with one of these. The Exynos in the S22 line had a far higher ratio of crap chips, maybe 30%+. I suspect that the S23 is a much lower percentage.
That's an interesting note - my unit was purchased directly from Samsung's site but i do see both sides on the heating issue so there does seem to be some quality control tick.
One month on, NO HEATING ISSUES whatsoever! Travelled a few days, 5G Data, DUAL SIM!! Gave me just as good if not better battery than when on Wifi.. Was very surprised! S23 Ultra all the way!!
Battery % on Samsung represents the natural discharge curve of li-ion batteries. In Iphone its manipulated too much staying that long at 100% and dropping faster after that.
Ive had the opposite experience as mentioned in video - i do believe there is a discharge curve that isn't linear but I also think Apple manipulates the reporting to provide a much smoother battery drain that is more predictable than samsung - historically.

Also the middle part last less than 90-95%. It's still somewhat more user friendly, but anyhow S23 improved on the discharge curve compared with S22. S22 used to drop as a rock below 7-8%.
Listen has it shut off on you or done anything weird when hot? If not then not a big deal at all. Just remenber a warm phone can feel hot and not actually be as hot as you think. 40c is pretty toasty feeling in the hand and even that isnt bad.
The bezel problem is your own, NOT the S23U. I've had mine for six months and I just checked as you were speaking of it, and there isn't a scratch on this phone anywhere. And I have a garden center business, so my hands and pockets often get very dirty or dirt in them. NOT A SCRATCH anywhere! So there's either something wrong with your case, or your phone. But it's not a S23U issue. Lastly, in my opinion, no offense to those who like them, but for me folding phones are idiotic. I see NO REASON to have one. If I want a tablet to work on, I can use my Surface Pro. The S23 Ultra is plenty big enough for all of my phone needs, without getting stupid. Nuff said...
That smell is because of capacitor and I have zero issues with it. Also my dog didnt seem to mind. I am usually not putting it in my nose or ears and using it externally as it is intended to.
What tf had they done with the frame this year. My S23U has scratches, especially on corners, and I always use it with case on. It fell from like 20-25 cm on table and already - there is a huge scratch. Insane...
@@aka1721 I wish I didn't take off that plastic. It would help with scratches but not with bigger damage. I just can't believe how soft this frame is. Drop this without a case, even if it falls on the corner of the device - display or back glass will crash 100%.
A protip about the scuffed sides that'll blow your mind: It's a sticker. I had the same issue and was super disappointed that it was scuffed in a case. Even though I thought I was very careful in analyzing it, my better half realized that it's covered by a sticker and that it is in fact the sticker that is scratched and not the actual bezel. Knowing this, I'm now very pleased and have left the sticker on.

Also, the camera is doing my head in. I just want to tap on it and either get it to focus or get the proper hdr for the sky. Nomatter what settings i put it in, i can't seem to get that right. I guess I'm a spoiled iphone user.

Have mine for 6 months, as well. No screen protector (cause YOLO), went to the beach, went to clubs, have not been careful with it AT ALL, but the scratches are minimal, you can only see SOME if you shine a light on a certain way and specifically look at it yet still barely visible.

The Z Flip 5 launch is right around the corner and based on the leaked pics, other than worldwide sales & support, what advantage would it have over the Razr? You might have something wrong with your phone because mine's actually gotten cooler over time which doesn't make sense it barely even gets warm and I play a lot of games everything is gotten even better than when I first got it no issues love this phone

I just bought s23 ultra 2-3 days ago but the cameras are working poorly on social media apps like snapchat. Even my budget pixel 4a from 2-3 years works better on social media apps. Is it just me or is anyone facing similar issues?
Try to check for any software updates. If you have update. Another thing is the HEVC function in videos, some apps don't support high resolution in this way, try to disable it. Brazilian greetings.

There are a few otterbox cases on amazon but they get REALLY bulky and it's already a pretty bulky phone as is - I opt for the casetify cases i linked in my description - those ones give 360 protection but definitely still keep the device looking attractive w/o adding too much bulk to it.

Maybe the plastic is still on? Mine has scratches on the plastics on the side

The frame on the s23 scratches easily.I have been using it from the last 4 months with a case and still there are some small scratches on the frame.

Nope!! I kept a case on because of how soft the aluminum bezels are and the camera bumps - but the screen is solid.

The camera on the back has a lens component that is not fixed so it does rattle and that is the case with all phones with the lens and it is normal!

Nope no update yet i always give it a few days.
To me it sounds like the processor cause my phone does that when switching to data. Allot also to do because I'm out in the sun with it.
