I have this phone and it's amazing, fast processor, perfect screen, lightweight, and amazing battery and good sound, I don't care about a camera, and I doubt others do , they are just conditioned to beliving a camera is so important

Just got one of these for £299 as it's a year old now. It's a brilliant little phone, beautifully designed. I like it as it seems a bit different to other phones. When the battery lasts as long as it does, I don't see the need for ultra fast charging.

I just purchased one second hand from electrical exchange shop for £50 it had a fault which ment it would crash and then reboot every three minutes or so. Not a mark on it. I discovered that the fault was related to it's current software which was android 12. I decided to try and update it , it's turning itself off all time remember.. when I eventually got it up to Android 13 it stopped crashing! So I knew I was on right track. Got android 14 installed it's now running perfectly like new. I hope this will help anyone who's Xperia keeps crashing. Took me four hours btw!
@@JamesGadbury I went with Pixel 6a instead. Most bugs have been ironed out and it performs really great for its price point. Recommended for anyone looking for a cheaper model.
Hi thanks for you comment, on Sony’s you can activate it on multi-tasking screens like on other Androids, OR you can use the multi window app from Sony on the desktop of your phone, really convenient and lets you save app pairs as well. Hope this answers your question.
Does it feel smooth to use? My OnePlus 7 pro got water damaged after 3 years... Want a small form factor device. Just worried going from SD865 to 695 will be a bad experience 😂
As I said in the video differences are very slight, it mainly comes down to the hardware shape and the chip inside 👌🏾 So if you have Mark III for example I would not recommend upgrading.

Hi Fred, Dank voor je comment! Als batterij belangrijk voor je is zou ik zeggen 'look no further' dat is echt het meest sterke punt aan dit toestel. De rest van de concurrentie is veel meer vergelijkbaar qua specs en prestaties. Hebben allen eigenlijk minder goede batterij duur, daar staat wel tegenover dat de meeste wat meer rekenkracht hebben. Maar goed hoeven games niet op de hoogste resolutie en framerates en videos niet op 4 of 8K resolutie met 60fps dan kom je qua prestaties niets te kort op deze Sony. Een alternatief voor iets meer geld zou misschien de Nothing Phone zijn, maar ook die komt qua batterij duur tekort tegenover de Sony, wel een stuk dichterbij dan de concurrentie op batterij uithoudingsvermogen. Unfortunately I've been having poor weather over here in Europe however I'm planning on doing a camera comparison in the coming weeks where I will surely compare the zoom capabilities with other devices 👌🏾🙏🏾.
Sadly these new phones seem to have problems with the headphone jack. Does not know my Sennheiser Epos 660 headset is connected, and does not work with the mic of my in ear monitors. My old Asus Zenfone 6 had no problems with the same headsets none at all. This Xperia was serviced twice, did not fix the problems :( New Xperia 5 did not work any better when tested in the shop :( Just the in ear monitors seem to work with micless cable :( and these are not cheap headsets by any means.
Oh that's slightly concerning to hear, I've had good experiences with both Sony themselves and skull candy. I have a sennheiser on deck too I'll have to try that on this device then, thanks for the heads-up and for your comment. Might be an interesting extra video I could do 👌🏾👍🏾

@@TH-camuseritis I know from personal experience with Xperia Phones and international phones in General, is that T-Mobile is the only network that works properly with 5G. As long as you steer clear of what are I believe WCDMA network providers like Verizon and/or Sprint -you should be good 👍🏾
I found out that it has basically no competition. If you want small(er) phone around 400 eur, there's Motorola Edge 30 Neo, Xperia 10 IV, Pixel 6a. Period. And you have to sacrifice 8gb ram, display refresh rate, video quality due to worse processor or something (which is weird, cause 4 years old and twice cheaper motorola g7 plus supports 4k video and has optical stabilization), but both this phone and motorola seem overpriced. And they don't even have much smaller battery. Am I only one who can forgive phone being 0.7mm thicker if it can save 1cm of length? I use it mainly as a tablet, but I want it pocketable too.
I miss compact phones to be honest, all these phones these days are way too big imo, I wish sony would never have stopped the compact series, I like smaller phones.

Hey man thanks for your question friend 🙏🏾 As to your answer, no unfortunately you'll have to go higher up the Xperia line for that. the 10 IV maxes out at 1080/30 10 III still did 4K/30. Seeing as they have almost the same chip I'm hopeful they bring this to The 10 IV too with a future update. 🙏🏾

During the day it will get close in terms of quality, and it will actually provide superior zoom shots because of the telelens. At night though the Pixel reigns supreme also in more challenging conditions the pixel is different class. Thanks for your comment, sound through the headphone jack isn't overly loud, as with previous Xperia's. The quality however remains sublime, even with the most cost effective wired headphones. Even more so compared to Bluetooth headphones and indeed devices with Dolby Atmos presets. And as always Sony allows you to tweak the experience with their built-in elaborate equalizer 👌🏾 which I personally prefer instead of any sound filter tweak like dolby, or Harman.

The processor is fine by me. @@cosmosokpighe4962 I'd say even within the class and price range battery is actually the Xperia 10 IV's edge I managed to get an average of 1,5 days. But this was with allot of testing of the cameras gaming, and installing apps. I believe with moderate/medium use, 2 days should be achievable. Which even with the 7xx series chips is not attainable. So for an efficient, yet plenty powerful experience the 10 Mark IV should be an excellent fit 👌🏾
Thank you for your response. This is quite true, I found out about this device on GSMARENA, when I was looking at their battery endurance test. I was surprised to see the Sony Xperia 10 iv with a 5,000mah battery scoring 163h in total, which surprised me because I own the Samsung M51, which has 7,000mah and it scored 156h in total in their battery endurance test. This made me pick interest in the Sony Xperia 10 iv, and I guess it may be down to the processor, which is the SD 695, which turns out to be more power efficient when I compared it to my Samsung m51's processor which is the SD 730G. And the SD 695 looks to out perform the the SD 730G, and from my experience with my Samsung, it isn't slow or laggy by any means. So I really don't get slating by some fans against the SD 695. The processor is really good. Good enough for the basic things. Other flagship processors like the 8xx series only look good on paper. There's no much difference. I use the Lenovo P2, I had it since 2018, the battery just got bad(swollen) and I can't seem to find a suitable replacement for it. The Lenovo P2 is the best phone I have ever used. So this Sony xperia 10 iv looks like a suitable replacement for me. Thanks for your feedback. I just got the device. First and foremost...it is quite a small looking device, smaller than I expected. It is very comfortable to hold. The device is a solid device. Screen is very good. You get deep blacks like you would from an amoled screen. The vivid colours aren't that overly saturated they lean towards more natural looking. The speaker isn't great to be honest it is quite low, sometimes you will hardly hear the phone ring from a distance. The battery is superb no more words on that. The camera....well I'm not into cameras and I really don't give a shit about cameras so I can't tell a good camera from a bad one honestly. But for me it's good enough. The sound from the 3.5mm jack is not overly loud, but it is crisp and sounds clean, I haven't even gotten a Sony earphone which will make it even better. As for the speed of the phone. I am yet to experience any lags, it handles the basic things pretty pretty well. I don't game with my mobile so I can't really tell you about gaming performance but from my experience with the phone, it will handle most games properly on medium settings. Cellular reception is fine. Download speed is fine too, not using the 5g yet as we are yet to get 5g in our country. This phone is targeted at a specific market. Basic phone users who care about battery life. If you understand this then you'd understand why Sony categorised the series the way they did. The Sony Xperia 1 IV, 5 IV, and 10 IV for instance all have 5,000mah batteries. But the 10iv has the highest battery endurance ratings, because no high refresh rates, no stereo speakers, no high end processors. The 1 IV, 5 IV, both have better screens with refresh rates, stereo speakers and better CPUs, but lower battery life. So something has to give. For me I priorities a long lasting battery over everything else is why I went for the 10 IV and it has delivered well in that regard. Overall a solid device with water and dust resistance with a gorrila glass victus. Just overpriced. But it's a lovely device that will last long.
Urgent* ASAP Please suggest pixel 6a or xperia 10 iv. Since both of them are available for £350 and my priority is build quality, battery life and day time still photos and I'll be using phone mostly for international travel, will it support foreign sim outside UK ... Plz help ... Looking forward for ur guidance..
I don't own neither, but so take what I say with a grain of salt. Pixel support significantly more variety of cellular bands than the Xperia, so I think Pixel will be better for international travel. Both phones will have long lasting battery life, but 10 IV battery is bigger and some reviews like GSMArena suggests its battery last much longer. Pixel camera due to Google algorithm is excellent and very detailed, they have the best portrait mode tech, better than even iPhone. Even though the 6a don't have telephoto lens, they have digital zooming trick that retains details pretty well. I lean more toward Sony because it include microSD, headphone jack, and is trying to do things different than the popular manufacturers. One big bummer though is the 10 IV only have mono speaker, and not stereo like the 6a.

It's purposeful, if you're looking for something unique in the class 👌🏾. And it should appeal to customers for whom stock Android is a must. But having said that it does carry over some weaknesses of its predecessors that is certainly true.

I bought this phone last week, preciously I used 10ii, it feels like a downgrade. Video is suck No 4k for TH-cam I can't edit video on Google photo Uploading big size video to Instagram story always fails! Don't forget it's plastic and not glass!! Bad decision Sony!

This phone is targeted at a specific market. Basic phone users who care about battery life.
If you understand this then you'd understand why Sony categorised the series the way they did. The Sony Xperia 1 IV, 5 IV, and 10 IV for instance all have 5,000mah batteries. But the 10iv has the highest battery endurance ratings, because no high refresh rates, no stereo speakers, no high end processors. The 1 IV, 5 IV, both have better screens with refresh rates, stereo speakers and better CPUs, but lower battery life. So something has to give.
For me I priorities a long lasting battery over everything else is why I went for the 10 IV and it has delivered well in that regard.
Overall a solid device with water and dust resistance with a gorrila glass victus. Just overpriced. But it's a lovely device that will last long.

Urgent* ASAP Please suggest pixel 6a or xperia 10 iv. Since both of them are available for £350 and my priority is build quality, battery life and day time still photos and I'll be using phone mostly for international travel, will it support foreign sim outside UK ...

I don't own neither, but so take what I say with a grain of salt. Pixel support significantly more variety of cellular bands than the Xperia, so I think Pixel will be better for international travel.
Both phones will have long lasting battery life, but 10 IV battery is bigger and some reviews like GSMArena suggests its battery last much longer.
Pixel camera due to Google algorithm is excellent and very detailed, they have the best portrait mode tech, better than even iPhone. Even though the 6a don't have telephoto lens, they have digital zooming trick that retains details pretty well.
I lean more toward Sony because it include microSD, headphone jack, and is trying to do things different than the popular manufacturers. One big bummer though is the 10 IV only have mono speaker, and not stereo like the 6a.

It's purposeful, if you're looking for something unique in the class 👌🏾.
And it should appeal to customers for whom stock Android is a must.
But having said that it does carry over some weaknesses of its predecessors that is certainly true.

Don't like the 21.9 aspect ratio ,looks weird.
I think the Samsung galaxy a53 is better due it it's 4 years of software support and better cameras.
