That's right. These 3 sony never compromises in any of its models. In my 1 mark 3, which I bought recently I'm disappointed with the camera. I'm confused between if I'm using it wrong or camera itself is the issue or if I got the defective device. I still need to test the camera but the my first impression was bad.
I played with both (as a long time Sony user, and also Nexus/Pixel). The Sony gives a far more natural feeling to hold and use, the camera experience is better, the pictures are mostly acceptable, the audio is far better with the Xperia (important to me), also the screen feels better. Software, updates, ecosystem - of course the Pixel is far better, but the 1 VI can expect 5 years of security updates and 3 years of full SW updates (albeit more rarely than the Pixel). Sony has been improving, but still seriously lags on SW updates. However, it's the closest to pure Android this side of the Pixel, a far cry better than other Android makers. I think you cannot go wrong with either, but for my preferences I lean towards the Sony (same story against the iPhone, though it's slightly better than the Pixel). I wish Sony still made an Xperia tablet, too (focusing on screen, battery, weight, speed).
Sony should really start extending their software support. I'm a fan of Sony and have used Z1 and XZ1 in the past. But then I switched to Pixel because 2-year support for a devices that sells for 1K+ is just not acceptable nowadays.
The Xperia's camera has the best color quality out of all smartphone. However they do come with some issues that needed to be addressed such as overexposure, magenta tint and detail problems. I have always love the Xperia btw and I hope they will releases a 1 inch but I highly doubt it.
In fact, Sony camera sensors are in all iPhones, that is why Sony stands out so much and surpasses iPhones in smartphones. i love sony xperia, is the best. I'll stick with the xperia...
Sony's lack of contrast in videos make it so cinematic but I get why people prefer the pixel. Personally, I prefer the muted look of sony which is why I always edit the pictures and videos I get on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.
xperia's dinamic range is superb but not with color profile. it boosted green color too much. pixel's color profile is better. i think android must update their video quality to be more smooth like the iphone and android flagship phone will be perfect. btw, your content is great, keep it up!

The problem is that every device model is a different wattage of power brick you couldn't use your previous charging brick because it wasn't compatible if you were forced to use a previous charging brick it will cause heat the device and damage to your phone
Hey small question. I can't really seem to find anything. What's the thickness of the (phones with the) cameras? The 8,5mm (Pixel) and 8,2mm (Sony) i found, seem to be without the camera. But maybe because the casing around the pixel camera is completely vertical, it seems to stick out rather a lot. Also really good video. I'm currently thinking which of these two to buy (or the non-XL version, because less bulky)

I really didn't expect Xperia to take such bad photos and videos... The contrast is very poor, the background blur is non-existent and the colors are catastrophic!
I never had overheating problems with my 1V. I can record 4k 120 fps HDR for houres... I tested it and had no problems. Gaming in HLS mode is also awesome, you can just bypass the battery. The chip never got too hot.
If you want performance(Processor) and good video,have external card slot,3,5mm jack audio,Compact body,light body,go with Xperia 1 Mark 6. And if you want a Big MP Cameras,Big Ram,Big Storage variant,Big Resolution,and good Pixels on display,go with google Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Cameras and software are better on the Pixel and Audio and performances on the Sony so Sony would be my choice
