There are many other phones using the same chipset at half the price of Xperia 10 IV. But the main attraction for Xperia is the form factor and the near stock android experience.
If Sony wishes to attract buyers with a midrange device at the Company's chosen price point then it really needs to drastically improve specifications to compete with those of other brands at a similar price. Since you have decided to return the Xperia do you intend to replace it with another brand at the 10 IV's price point?
Most of the time it's not about the sensor but the software and the person editing the raw files (if they know how to edit). Sony makes more professional phones, if you don't know how to use the manual settings, then maybe Sony is not for you.
How is the video mode at night? Does the it have jerky movements? The video mode seems relatively stable during the day, despite having some weird coloration.
@@lltechview Been watching your videos and asking all questions. I'm thinking of getting an Xperia 5 mark V or an Xperia 10 V or even a ZenFone 9. Yes, I've seen your Xperia 5 IV Vs Zenfone 9 video. currently have an older Xperia 5 mark 3 and as it will not get the newer Android 14. So, what would your suggestions be my friend?
@@lltechview Currently the Xperia 5 v is priced GBP849 @ Sony's website; not many on ebay. But in your experience /opinion would you say the Zenfone 9 is second best than the 5 v or even an older 5 iii or the newer 10 v? I'm really torn between the Zenfone 9 or wait till the 5 v price goes down but needed a phone this week as I sold one of mine. Looking at the photo comparison tool on GSMArena between the Zenfone 9 and my old Xperia 5 iii the Zenfone sometimes show blurry rendition but sometimes it is sharp as well. Not that consistent but colours seems OK. What do you think?
There was an update that improved HDR in video mode when recording SDR (something like Wide Range mode from the other highend phones turns itself on in HDR situations)
Sadly these new phones seem to have problems with the headphone jack. Does not know my Sennheiser Epos 660 headset is connected, and does not work with the mic of my in ear monitors. My old Asus Zenfone 6 had no problems with the same headsets none at all. This Xperia was serviced twice, did not fix the problems :( New Xperia 5 did not work any better when tested in the shop :( Just the in ear monitors seem to work with micless cable :( and these are not cheap headsets by any means.
Thats odd. All the ones I have work just fine. Maybe CTIA vs OMTP connection? That needs an extra adapter. I know Sony had compatibility in older phones for this old standard that they created but its long long outdated and building in support for it costs some extra work in adapting the Android software to support those. Anyway I tried various Sennheiser Over Ears, Sony Over Ears and In Ears aswell as FinalAudio & Moondrop IEMs. So far all of them worked also with the inline mic.
I cant believe how such brand that even produces dslr cameras has so bad cameras on their phones, just look at night photos, even on dxomark rating for night on this phone is too low
I bought Pixel 6 today. How good it really is. It works very smoothly and the photos are great without body heat. Android 13 beta and pure. In general, I can say that when you have a Pixel, you can immerse yourself in the world of Google and enter the Google ecosystem. Because everything is integrated by Google.
Yeah the video is a let down. 1080p for sure but not that great. The stabilisation is ok for sure and the latest update fixed HDR for video kicking in which helps a bit.
Do not buy this phone, a lot of users are experiencing microphone issues. The phone can't even do the basic job of a phone properly. Battery is perfect but it is of no use if your microphone is faulty

Weirdly good! Much less flare than even the 1IV! Great one!
