Around 2:33 you didn’t show how to get rid of the pointer tool. I click in the middle and it’s still trying to draw point for me, but I’m just trying to move it now.

@@SamAngello i got a question. I did it once and it worked. Now im doing it again and once I connect the points, the draw mask i drew, moves by itself the min the last dot is connected, then as i try and mask the object, its not covering up the object. Got an Idea?
What about if you need to remove a big non moving, poster behind moving people? And even after doing the keying there is no other big patch in the video that could replace the poster. What can I do in that case??
@@SamAngello Thank you so much for your prompt response! 😀 So I would put a picture of the poster on the first layer and use the second layer on top of that layer to use keying to remove the part I don't want. Then position the poster underneath the video to let it show through? I'm gonna try that. Thank you so much!!
Hey Sam....I love it, I did it and it worked! But now I can't get it to work again on another clip! I followed everything, restarted FCP and re-booted....nothing! The mask does not hide the object! Help?
pls help now i can no longer move the masked portion with the masking pen. i chose it already and then before i can move it to the plain portion, now. no longer! pls help
If you're stuck inside of the drawing tool with your mouse I would call the Ghostbusters lol. All joking aside you should just be able to click off like I did in the video. I would try maybe restarting Final Cut and see if that helps out

Same here. It's almost like there is a missing step when moving the mask off to the destination. It's like you need to tell FCP that it should copy from here. The process as described is not working - well certainly not on my version of FCP X
I ran in to the same issue. If you look at his screen he has an earlier transformation open. Click on the original video, then click transform (don't change anything) just click DONE in the upper right. Now when you create the duplicate video Option/Drag - Mask - Select Edit Points - Drag Out to Good Area ---- Then leave that Effect Edit block and scroll down to the earlier Transform block. Use those (X/Y) values to move the original footage up into the newly masked space. Hope this helps...

How to remove a wire in Fcpx ...when we do product shoot or rotate objects with the help of wire ....
For this type of operation I would definitely recommend using adobe after effects

Make a poster to replace the poster then you will need to go in and manually mask the poster behind the moving people

Can’t drag option because the mask tool won’t vanish

Did you duplicate the layer And make sure you're working on the above layer with mask

The duplicated layer controls The masking and gives you the texture you need to get rid of the exit sign
