I watch a lot of camera and editing related content and very rarely as a result do I now come across any hints, tips and tricks that I haven’t already heard and seen before. However in the past 12 minutes I’ve just picked up more learnings than I have in probably the last 3 years. Stuff like this is golden, and is more valuable to people than you’re probably aware of. Already implemented the prism thing in a job today, (always previously tried creating similar effect with masks, layers and gaussian blur, but could never quite nail the desired result. Tried this today, half the workflow, twice the gains. A very sincere THANK-YOU!!!

I use FCPX myself and didn’t even know I could bring that line up 😂 Just want to say you inspire the fuck out of me and I’ve learned more than half of what I know about cinematography from your channel. Coming from skateboarding to this art form, there is something about just falling in love with the process and creating your own style along the way that really shines through in your channel. I was super heavy into skateboarding myself and still pick up the board every once in awhile and I too see how my mentality from those days, helps me now with my drumming and my TH-cam channel. Quick summary to improve moving shot:
    - Stabilize
    - Add scale/zoom
    - Keep horizon even
    - Center subject
    - Add LUT color grading
    - Sharpen specific point on subject (subtle; keyframe to motion)
    - Add prism to background (subtle; invert mask after selecting shape; keyframe to motion)

Mind blown. Your initial footage looks like what my camera produces lol, then you turn it into the quality of footage I look at and think "I wish mine looked like that". Hopefully I can replicate, but I do struggle with color grading being color blind. There is a tutorial for you, how to color grade when color blind :P

The middle part of the clip where it goes off the center a bit looked more fluid and realistic to me, I wouldn't change that. But that's just me, I feel that being perfectly in the center the whole time gives that omniscient camera look from Fincher that I'm not particularly a fan.

HoLy CrAp the fact that your mind can think up those ideas to add to a 2 second panning clip of an object is ASTOUNDING. After each thing you'd add, I'd specifically think "well that looks great! He can be done with the shot now." but nope. This is just freaking cool.

I can see you don't like decimal number in your settings. Like that sharpening, you just type in 4 instead of leave it at 3.xx
