RC in Aruba is the worst!! So, an 8 ounce anything that has a bone is total weight, so I recd maybe 3 oz of meat… TR or even Longhorn are better, of course, cooking your own is the best!
This comparison makes no sense. Ruth's Chris is fine dining with Prime Aged cus of Steak.....Texas Roadhouse has Peanuts, line dancing and Choice Cuts. Average person goes to Ruth's for a special occasion.....Texas Roadhouse is for the everyday, its a Corporate Chain McSteak.
Texas Roadhouse might not have the same quality steaks as high end steakhouses such as Ruth's Chris and others, but the difference in quality is not that great. In the meantime, you're paying 2-3x more for a similar cut of steak at the high end joints, and that's only for the entree itself. Throw in the cost of the sides, which are included at TR, then your price is closer to 3-4x higher. When it comes to bang for the buck, no high end steakhouse and this includes Ruth's Chris, can touch TR with a 10 ft pole.
I work for a prime grade serving steakhouse in beef country Midwest, Omaha, Nebraska. We serve A5 Wagyu, among other things. We target approximately $125 a head, not including big wine purchase. We kick a$$. But I still appreciate the reasonable quality, motivated and down home style service, and yes, THE MASSIVE COST DIFFERENCE. The convenience and value of the Roadhouse actually make it superior to Ruth’s Chris.
@clubmogambo3214 I've had both and Texas is fine for the money but Chris served prime aged steaks yes more money $ $$$$ but no comparison. BTW Sizzler was fine for the money
@@waynerogers6621 Well, that was my point - of course in a straight up comparison, Ruth's is going to win every time. What I was saying is when you factor in the respective costs of each, it would be hard to justify Ruth's 2x-3x cost compared to Texas. I love Ruth's and that's one of my go-to steakhouses when I'm up for spending the coinage. But for my normal go-to, it's Texas hands down. Great bang for the buck.
@@clubmogambo3214 Bang for my buck is a prime steak from Costco throw on my grill. I've seen some wet age bags for sale on Amazon some time ago and I may try them in the future,
When you purchase steak cuts from a supermarket, most people purchase choice cut. Look at the price of prime cut and you can see the difference. That’s why when you just want a regular eat out meal you go to Texas roadhouse when you want to eat a superior prime cut steak and it is a special occasion you go to RC.
You could probably feed a four or five adults at Texas Road House for the cost of one meal at Ruth's Chris. However, people dining at Texas Road House know they are not eating elegantly or getting the best steak they ever ate. When you eat at a fine steak house like Ruth's Chris, you can expect elegant service and surroundings and the finest food you ever ate. This comparison is a little silly. Just because they both serve steak doesn't make them comparable. One is a family restaurant with so so service and atmosphere and the other is a fine dining establishment. If you get a chance to visit Peter Lugers in Brooklyn, NY you get something in between the two. The steaks are the best you've ever eaten and the service is top notch but the tables are of plain wood without table cloths and the atmosphere is anything but elegant. The cost at Peter Lugers is about what you would pay at Ruth's Chris.
I went to RCs ten years ago. I got a delicious T-bone. It was $65 for the steak alone. They change additionally for each sides like a potato, broccoli and such. I recently went to TRH and got a T-bone for about half the price and it was still pretty darn good minding were talking 10 years later and sides were included
How can anybody in their right mind compare the high end environment and fine dining and excellent food of Ruth’s Chris to a neighborhood restaurant such is TR? I go to Ruth’s Chris about twice a year for special occasions and if I was wealthy I would go once a week! Their steaks are phenomenal as the beef is the most delicious that I have ever tasted bar none as well as their side dishes and salads. No contest whatsoever! There is a reason they are priced accordingly because you get the best. Also, their server staff is top notch♥️
Comparing Texas Roadhouse to Ruth Criss is akin to comparing a Bugatti to a mini cooper there is no comparison. I’ve been to both and for my cash/budget Texas Roadhouse wins by landslide .
NEITHER is "better" they are very different. I love both for different reasons and for different occasions. TR is the regular place to go, when you want a night out, good food, a well prepared steak and side, but don't want to spend a ton of money doing it, as well as if you may also want a place the kids will be okay and comfortable in without feeling under dressed for the family. Ruth's is a whole different experience. I've taken my daughter there, but she was on her best behavior as she knew it was a nicer place the minute you walked in. But the 500 degree plates aren't kid safe and the atmosphere is more upscale. But it costs a whole lot more for the privilege. The higher level of meat is nice, but TR still is the top level of the choice grading. Compare the choice in your local supermarket, with the ones in the meat case at TR and you'll see the difference. Both are good for the type of places that they are.
@joshnielsen6429 no comparison but to make you feel better my son in law took my daughter to Chris and she didn't like the earthy taste of a aged steak. BTW my father told me a story about a old school prime steak house in Manhattan that would go in the cellar scrape off the mold bring it upstairs and put it in the broiler. Melt in your mouth tender but I'm sure it had a taste some wouldn't like.
It wasn’t mentioned that Texas RH has the highest rated ribs. Bottom line, RC has an elegant and beautiful presentation. Texas RH offers comparable food , but a Holly jolly atmosphere. Your choice and manga!
Sometimes casual laid-back is better than up tight high rent. Sometimes it's the other way around. I wouldn't refuse an invite to either one of those places. 🎉
Very informative. Can you expand your horizons just a bit and do a video comparing the flight experience in first class on Emirates Airlines versus fist fighting the stewardess to get off standby on Spirit Airlines? I'm torn between the two.
They have them, just have to ask. During Covid they bagged them. Once the quarantine was lifted homeless people realized they could grab bags of free peanuts.
Some if not all TRHs also have a table reserved in honor for fallen heroes, first responders and or military members. Texas Road House will always be my place to go. Outstanding menu.
For those who don’t know the difference, it’s comparing apples to oranges! Steakhouses serve dry aged prime cuts of beef that you regular supermarkets don’t carry! A regular restaurant will serve choice grade beef, that’s a major difference that you’re paying for. Also the professional chefs and the ovens used are quite different.
I enjoy both restaurants. I can’t understand why these two are being compared. They are two totally different restaurants! One thing never mentioned was the price difference. RC IS WAY MORE COSTLY.
Agreed, but when it comes down to actually eating those respective steaks, the prime cut might be better, but not 3x better, which is the much pricier cost you'll pay for that upgrade.
@clubmogambo3214 You're absolutely right . I was a sales rep for the 2nd largest food distribution co. in the US for 15 years . There is nothing at all wrong with choice grade beef , especially considering the point you brought up : big price difference .
Our TR is going down hill very fast. When you get a good steak, it’s really good, but the odds are 1 out of 4 getting a good steak. They will give you a thin ribeye that should be for chicken fried steak when they are running low on good ribeyes, consistently overcook the steaks, and most times, the salads come out either with the steak or 1 minute before.
The last time I was in a Ruth's Chris (1 year ago) was terrible, the wine environment was completely empty, the food was only so-so and the bill was huge. RC can keep their so called upscale dining, never going back.
Depends on the occasion. Casual date, or dinner after church? Texas. Anniversary, etc.? RC Not even ENTIRELY for the steak. RC has AMAZING (at least in my experience) service. Made reservations. Server has our name, gets the occasion, is attentive but not annoying, offering suggestions as requested, and furnished a complimentary dessert for the occasion. Between THAT service, and the Prime Steaks? Yah. I'll drop the $$ once every year or two.
Ruth Chris is excellent , I also like Capital Grill , Flemmy and Bern steak house. I would not might one of this fine restaurant be on my dinner list 🤗
I have had both steaks and neither are worth going back a 2nd time. RC beef is drowned in so much butter you would be hard pressed to guess if you were eating steak or a block of dog food. Shalom
No comparison. Ruths Chris is the better steak, but only if you're willing to pay up for it. The one time I visited Texas Roadhouse, I was greatly disappointed.
Texas Roadhouse is awesome but you can’t compare them to the best steak house in the universe in Ruth’s Chris fancy suit and tie restaurant but you’re definitely gonna pay for it
Alas it is no longer a name that draws attention, but years ago Chucks Steakhouse Of Hawaii out did all of them, you went there to eat meat, not bask in the environment. Been to Chris and the Texas a number of times, wouldn’t trade Chucks for either.
You should do a blind taste test with some take out steaks. Thats the real test. It would of course depend on how cultivated your taste buds are. And iif you like the dry aged flavors. Taste is subjective.
Ruth's is way to hoiti toiti and besides, when I order a steak medium rare and it is served on a sizzling plater, it is well done half way through. Ruth's should just tell you that your steak will eventually be well so don't bother requesting a specific doneness. TXR serves you what you order at a more reasonable price. When I go out to dine, the company is entertainment, we don't need the faux ambience.
Texas Roadhouse needs to work on sanitation? I seen a male employee at Texas Roadhouse in Toledo. Ohio leave the men's room? Without wishing his hands? Me and Linda. Don't eat there no more?
This video is just naming two places that serve steak and then going over their menus. Even half of the footage/pictures are straight from the business's websites. Some of the laziest "content" imaginable.
Simple formula of price minus price and quality minus quality. . If the food is seventy percent as good but 70 percent cheaper then ibwould choose texas everytime. A baked potato or a creamed spinich is the same thing. Now compare it to an Ihop sirloin. I prefer the th waffle house pork chops over th high end as i like them thin, but they dropped off the menu. Sad.
If you're comparing the two, which this article doesn't really do, I'd take Texas Roadhouse any day. Family atmosphere with great steaks and sides vs. "Fine steak dining" with stupid expensive prices for what you get IMO. Not to mention, Ruth Chris's doesn't have those delicious rolls and honey butter !! 😂
Texas Roadhouse blows them off the map in terms of steak. I tried a Ribeye at Ruth's Chris; triple price, cooked totally wrong, serve still cooking on a super hot plate. Steak was returned and thrown away so i could go eat something good elsewhere. I have traveled this country for decades eating steak consistently. Ruth's Chris so far is in lower 2% of the hundreds I've eaten at. Texas, while not always top notch is very consistent , and affordable.
