    Awesome walk around on the mods Vance. Like Duane Taylor, I too have tricked out my Pelican with most of your mods and videos. I've only got a couple that are different than yours. I put regular high back boat seats on mine for comfort. They are a little heavier, but man are they ever a LOT more comfortable. I also put some plywood under the seats to raise them up about an inch and a half. That made a tremendous difference on leg comfort. We tried the risers and took them off immediately. It just felt too top heavy with a 7" riser on the seats. I also took the top off of the boat and ran all my wiring under the top cap. It's a chore, but it was really interesting to see whats on the inside of the boat. You will NEVER tip that thing over the way it's designed and constructed. You can however throw yourself out of the boat. My fishing buddy did that himself. Once I found out he was ok, I couldn't help but laugh. Lesson learned. LOL If you want to see pictures of the inside of the boat, hit me up on FB and I'll send them over.

      Hey Sam, I forgot about your idea about the plywood. I definitely need to try that. I would love to see the pics. I will reach out in FB. Need more into on the seats too.. Thanks Sam.

    Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I believe I've seen all the mods you've discussed. The good ones and the ones you don't use anymore. Almost every mod I've done on my lil boat has come from watching your videos. Thank you for the content. I am going to try moving my battery to the middle also. With myself, the battery and the motor, there is a lot of weight at the back of the boat. Fish on!!!

      Hey Duane, sorry for the review content. Can't fish right now so thought I would go over the Pelican. I love the Battery in the middle. It used to get around my feet all the time. I think I am going to shrink the table down again over the winter months. I don't need all that space and find myself fishing alone a ton now so don't need a huge table. Those Anderson connectors were the best thing ever too. How has you fishing been going?

      Fishing With Vance the fishing for me has not been very good as of late. It’s been very hot and we’ve had a ton of fires here in Northern California, so the air quality has been terrible. But with all that said, I still try to get out at least once a week and since I don’t catch fish, I call it casting not fishing. It’s still fun. I’m looking forward to seeing your videos of you catching fish.

    • @fishingwithvance

      Sorry about the fires. I really hope somehow those go out or are put out. I can't wait to catch some fish. Haha. Wife broke her leg so lots of care for her. She is getting better and ill be back out there soon.

    I did a table after seeing yours.. love it! I have an 8’ pelican and slid the table over the battery in the back. This gives me the rest of the boat open to fish. Thanks for the videos and great ideas.

      Thanks very much Steve. I am glad the videos helped you out. How do you like that 8ft Pelican? Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it.

    +1 on the Anderson connectors! Rewired my 10e after watching you guys and will never be worried about electrical probs now. I also use a Minnkota power ctr, love it. Thanks for all the help!

      Thanks Big D. The seats are nice in that they are not too heavy but yet really make enough difference with just a small amount of padding. Fish on Big D

    My favorite mod is (1) my used jet ski trailer. Got it a month after picking up my pond prowler. My truck bed is always full and without it, my fishing would be a quarter of what it is now. (2) moving trolling motor up front. After first trip, I knew I wanted to move it up front. Much easier for me plus weight is better distributed since I keep two batteries in the back (3) working on a table (I’ve changed it up 3 or 4 times so far) The event that has messed with me the most is catching musky fever and doubling the amount of gear I want to take, especially the giant net.

    • @fishingwithvance
      @fishingwithvance  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to try trolling motor in the front. Single man trips. Has to be great. Hope you are catching fish. Thanks for watching.

    Great mods Vance! Thanks for the battery tray idea. Definitely using that one. I need to wire up some lights next for cat fishing. Fish on!

      Thanks Mike. The Battery one works pretty darn well for tip overs for sure. Ratchet strap can be a little bit of a pain but helps as well. Went out today... Skunk city...

    Great mods Vance I recently installed a fish finder and made a power switch box with a plastic ammo box. I’ll try and make a video on it soon. Also I like that table but it won’t work on my boat because of the casting deck lol.

    • @fishingwithvance
      @fishingwithvance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is great DRock. I look forward to seeing the power switch box mod for sure. I am thinking of making my table way smaller. Probably a good winter project. Thanks for watching. Fish on!

      Fishing With Vance I look forward to seeing the new table I might make another floor and just switch from deck to regular floor depending on the fishing I’m doing if so I’ll make a table. And I’m already editing the power switch box should be posting it soon.

    Yep, you've got that thing tricked out! Modding your boat is all about personal preference. There's tons of mods people have done, but you only need the ones that work for you and your style of fishing. You guys have had time to figure out what you liked and what you didn't like by now. For the most part anyway. You're at the point now where it's pretty much just go fishing and enjoy everything being how you like it. :)

      Pretty much CCF. Could fix a few more small items but nothing major like you said. Looks like you have been doing well on Kerr.

      @@fishingwithvance Not too bad. The nights are getting cooler so the water temp is dropping a bit. The bite should get better and better over the next month or two. Hopefully I'll be there often. :)

    My best mod would definitely be buying a used jet ski trailer. My truck was always loaded with construction materials and it would take 20 minutes just to unload truck before starting to load boat. Now I don’t have to unload a single thing, just park in my one car garage and all good. Plus don’t have to lift anything including boat. Also makes loading / unloading at ramp so much quicker and easier.

    • @fishingwithvance
      @fishingwithvance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree Patrick on the trailer. Makes a huge difference to prep and getting late starts to lake and like you said end of day if way easier along with loading of course. Thanks Pat for watching.

    • @patrickfahie8671
      @patrickfahie8671 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fishing With Vance my fishing would be a quarter number of times from what it is with no trailer. I would dread unloading all the construction materials in my truck, lifting boat, putting everything in. I would feel so rushed. 90% of hassle is immediately eliminated with a trailer.

    Looks like my Garage needs a cleanup watching this... Sweet Jesus.

      Fishing With Vance my one car garage is packed, just barely enough room for boat on trailer to snugly fit in...but it fits 😁

    With all those rods sticking up in all those rod holders that limits your casting and flipping room. Those 2 rod holders on the back look too loosely secured.

    • @fishingwithvance
      @fishingwithvance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have had those rods up there for 4 years and not once have they hindered me from a casting perspective. I can drop a lure in a bucket from 20 yards away with a flick of the wrist. As for the back rod holders, again, not once have I lost a rod. Granted these are not made to put poles into and fish out of them. These are used to hold the rod while I either rig or get fish unhooked. Thanks for the feedback. Fish on!

      For the table, you can make them out of PVC.

      Sure is to me Ranger Danger. With my bad back, it would be modified if I kept lifting it into the back of my Tacoma. Thanks for watching and comment. Fish on!
