@Dave062YT But this is just a variant on an already released product. This is like saying that EVERY load cell pedal released after the first one is going to change sim racing forever
I’ve fully invested in the Simagic eco system and currently on VRS pedals but that active pedal looks exciting, if the price is competitive they will steal the market for sure.
Definitely an easy option if they make them compatible to the P1000 and P2000 pedal plates, would possibly the best pedal set, P1000 throttle with damper, clutch and active brake on the plate would be a done deal! Nice to see innovation to make it so compact, using a belt to reduce worm drive ‘feel’ is a good and quiet option. Good work.
I love that brake pedal. I’ve got the p2000 with a lot of upgrades to them. I hope I can just add that brake upgrade to my p2000 Can’t wait for it to come out. I’ll be looking to upgrade my p2000 as soon as it’s available 💪✊🔥🔥🔥
I would love transparent case parts to see the inside (working) :))) i'm thinking about buying p1000 but now with the moza mbooster and THIS pedal upcoming, i'm very hesitant... when will this pedal be released?
Would there be a cheaper/simpler design for a clutch to accompany this brake pedal? You know, not everyone is focused solely on GT3 and its sequential tranny. Some of us actually enjoy driving cars with a real manual transmission, as we do in real life and enjoy having a H shifter in our sims.
Should have asked Tyler about an estimated price? Will the software/firmware have updates? Will spare parts be available from Simagic? Warranty period? Different pedal faces?
A worm gear seems like over time there’s a ton of revolutions on the movement of the pedal. Over time the amount of revolutions is going to have a lot of wear.
MMM appear an overdesign of a Brake pedal... on a car the pedal never generate force to come back like this!... is really needed increas complexity of this device?
If you actually were a dedicated journalist within the field of motorsport, you would be the Gold Standard to which all others would aspire. A wonderful interview, Kireth, as they always are, 🔥. Like deployed 👍 😎🎙✅️
@Kireth A great attitude that seems to eminate from you, which in turn goes in someway to put the interviewed at ease very possibly. That and, of course, being researched and well-informed on the topic at hand and, most importantly, having the confidence to listen, also know doubt helps, 😊.
I'm curious to know if they though of using a set of *"GEARS instead of a BELT"* , much like a "F1" engine that uses gears instead of a belt/chain to turn a DOHC system..??? 🤔💯👍🏽
The belt drive will allow them to cut the price. Manufacturing those worm gears will be very expensive. Tolerances have to be very tight for them to run smoothly.
I own SC AP. My biggest gripe is the size. But seeing this prototype I'm afraid AP looses it's biggest advantage - adjustability without having to go unscrew, move etc The lesser size makes it less adjustable. We get tactile from exciters nowadays anyway (I still have exciter on my AP).
I have the P2000s and I'd like to replace the brake with this one. Without a hydrolic brake, it would be nice to invert the set. I'm excited about this Simagic active pedal!
simagic does great products at the right price, i don't understand why they continue to use a low resolution encoder in the dd bases and a non simhub compatible display wheel
Cool but... reducing length only to double the height isn't really making it compact. Most plates can accommodate the length of the Simucube pedal. Also, and that's a big one, their trick is to separate the actuator from the drive unit, and connect the 2 with... a belt?!? That's a big point of potential failure there. That's one of the reasons even entry level steering wheels have moved away from belts
Engineering this active pedal to perform just as good than Simucube and be significantly cheaper should be the first goal. Hopeful for the Pedal, but I do not see this releasing anytime soon.
No! How could ANY active pedal be an upgrade for a non-active pedal? 🤔It’s simply impossible to add the motor and gears/belts necessary to transfer the motion to the pedal and have that somehow be an upgradeable option for any regular pedal. 🧐Not gonna happen, so don’t hold your breath waiting.😢
If you are somewhat DIY savvy, you can source one yourself for around 300$. Max 500$ if you have to use services for 3d printing and cant do it yourself. If this is in your budget you are on the same level as the offered products right now. Setup and configuration of the effects happens in simhub.
