    Some things to note!
    In some shots, like at 11:34 for example, the microphone (Rode wireless mic, looks like a black square) is situated RIGHT on top of the mechanism arm, which may isolate and exaggerate the mechanism's noise somewhat.
    The silliness at 22:23 is only created by setting the 'Brake Threshold Vibration' feedback sliders to ridiculously strong numbers which you would never ever use for real. The noise is likely coming from some reverberation elsewhere, such as the heelplate (which is a plate of sheet metal). In other words: No, it's nowhere near that loud during normal use.

    As an Active Pedal Ultimate owner, I completely agree with Danny's reveiw. The summary really is spot on. This is truly an enthusiast product, and I love it. But it really is not possible to outright justify the price for the normaal sim racers straight up needs.

    Honestly, you have actually covered the one thing I don't think anyone else did: the noise.

    Hi Danny,
    really liked your honest review.
    Even though you nearly convinced me not to buy them, I just ordered them! 😅
    With the Black Friday deal I felt that having staggering 5 years of warranty makes this deal a bit more able to justify. That‘s at least what I am telling myself (and my wife). 😂😂😂

    DL, always appreciate your authenticity. As someone who recently upgraded from years on Clubsport V3s to the AP Pro bundle, I'll just say that to anyone with an intention of taking the hobby seriously, I'd recommend these without reservation. Pedals are one of the most important pieces of kit in your setup for realism and consistency. These are forever pedals. They have basically no wear parts and are infinitely adjustable with mouse clicks, not wrenches. So yes, you need to "buy once, cry once" but then never again.
    There are a lot of folks out there that seem willing to snap up the latest GPU, invest in an 8040 aluminum rig, plus triples or VR (actually the budget choice), load cell pedals like HK similar, a DD wheelbase of some kind (and a wheel), etc... At that point you're already in thousands upon thousands of dollars. If you're anywhere near that budget level, these would be at the top of my shopping cart, probably right next to a SC2 Pro or SC2 Sport wheel base, and I think the capabilities of these pedals (the infinite adjustability) are accessible and valuable to drivers of all skill levels.

    The most honest review I’ve seen! For example revealing the crunchy sound was very surprising. The sound on comparison is the kind of detail that also sets this review above others. My Heusinkveld sprints do a great and much quieter job tho hail to the chief is not possible 😅Thanks 🏁

      Thanks, I really appreciate it and cheers for watching - I think I'll pin a comment to make sure it's very clear that the microphone for some shots was placed RIGHT on the pedal, which will undoubtedly isolate and exaggerate the sound somewhat.

    Great review Danny. I love mine. Had them for a few weeks now. The lack of full support for iRacing is not an issue for me as it's not my game. I was using pedal haptics before but these are like going from SD to HD. Are they worth the money.......too soon to say but my PB's, that had plateaued, are starting to fall like dominos. Thats a win for me.

    Hi Danny great informative review I think the best one I have seen yet - I don't own a set & currently run Imsim Talento with Haptics - the SC pedal is a great design etc but man NO the average sim racer would not be able to justify the spend when other more important upgrades are required like GPU's, CPU's & MB's etc...... Love the National Anthem too - great job

    I've had 2 of the original ActivePedals and a Passive Throttle for over a year now. iRacing is my only sim right now. But I do load up WRC and Le Mans Ultimate every so often for a bit of a change.
    I personally don't run any of the effects on the brake. For me, having the brake fine tuned so my muscle memory does the work of making sure I don't lock up or use the ABS is a much bigger advantage than any vibration. Because of how easy it is to change pedal settings. Since I use only the two ActivePedals in iRacing because I prefer a hand clutch, the Passive Throttle goes unused. Then when I jump into something like American Truck Sim/Euro Truck Sim where having a great clutch is important, I just change the brake to clutch settings, the throttle to brake settings and then use the Passive Throttle. Then when I'm ready to go back to iRacing or over to ULM, I just change the settings back.
    Having a full set of three ActivePedals though is a waste of money IMO.
    Also, I am a bit shocked by how the ActivePedal Pro in this review sounds. My Passive Throttle is similarly loud. But my ActivePedals, while not smooth like a normal a normal sim racing pedal, they make a much more pleasant sound than that horrible, almost metal scraping sound in the review. I wonder if Simucube sent out a dud unit for review?
    Overall though, they are very cool tech and have helped me significantly. But that's only because of the fine tuning, not the various effects.

    Thanks for the review Danny. I’ve got the SM Haptics and any company that doesn’t allow for SimHub integration is simply affecting their pull on the market. For example, I could never swap the SM haptics for these, as drive LMP2 in iRacing and need that wheel lock up. Also I think the effects on SimHub are just more clearly defined than native support for anything. Also have the SRS UShake6 for my seat and ran the native support for around 6 months before hooking up to SimHub and couldn’t believe the improvement for the same effects loaded.

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I fear that Simucube's perfectionism is probably to blame for it, they do state publicly that they're just not comfortable relying on simhub for an essential part of the experience, but I can't see why they wouldn't aim for both. Simhub for those who want to use it, and Simucube's own system for those who want to stay in-house.

    I think im going to buy this. Simply because on iRacing, i suffer from being lazy and not adjusting the brakes between cars, especially between GT3 and Proto. So having software controlled adjustability is really ticking my boxes.

    I agree with pretty much every point and view you had. I will say i dont pike the sound and grain feel. Me i did in fact feel it when trying it. Its a point i do bring up and its why simagic stated themselves they wont be doing the same deisgn internally because they found the same issue. So they are using a belt with there motors which you cant feel or hear and its very smooth. They also stated it wont have latency issues. So I think that was very good of them to think about. Excited to see theres on the market next year.

    21:18 Hi Danny. Great work on the review and tons of points covered. Could you give g-force another look? Can that effect help you to know how much the car is diving in heavy braking? Or squatting during acceleration. And can it help you know if you got too much or too little weight transfer on the front wheels? As you don't want the rear to get too light or else the car will slide to the left or right.

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say no, the g-force effect can't help you there. It's not quick enough or reactive enough to be useful or informative as an actual driving tool. I can see why - if it was any quicker, it'd probably interfere with your inputs, but the result is that it's too slow and floaty to be anything more than a background sensation thing, not a feedback thing. The absolute best thing for sensing weight transfer will be your wheel's force feedback.

    Why are none of the 'big' sim youtubers (that use Iracing the most) talking about this? Seems like the pedal suffers the most in that title.. they def should send out telemetry for lockups ...
    Thank you for your opinion Danny! Almost bought it, gives me a lot to think about.
    Do you think Iracing will solve that telemetry issues at any point in time? Maybe new tiremodel? As an Iracing and open wheeler (without abs), there is not big advantage next to the customization?

  • @slaphead90
    @slaphead90 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I'm definitely in the camp of the sim racers where this would be serious overspend.
    I really wouldn't gain any advantage from these as I'm very much an out of the box, on the rig, couple of minor adjustments and that's how the pedals will stay forever more kind of person.

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely, for a lot of people these would be excessive - Simucube has nonetheless successfully created something that we all definitely want, even if we'll never buy it. For a company that seems dead set on invention and innovation, that's probably what they really hope to hear!

    What wheelbase are you maining right now danny?

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The VRS DirectForce Pro wheelbase is being used until my focus can turn on new territory - I've never used or explored a Simagic or Simucube wheelbase so they could be next on the hit-list, maybe even revisiting Fanatec if they ever get their act together with Fullforce, but for now I'm just eating what's on my plate, so to speak! I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with the VRS wheelbase, it's been reassuringly heavy duty and I don't hesitate to recommend it. VRS's new wheelbase has a hard act to follow, and in time I hope to give it a try.

    • @reviewforthetube6485
      @reviewforthetube6485 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @dannyleeracing yeah for sure! Vrs has a great raw feel. I own to many wheelbases now lol. Dd+, simagic ultimate and now the invicta and the invicta is much baby! Probably the fastest wheelbase ive ever used. Pb after pb which I've never experienced from changing wheelbases before. So yeah I'll be stuck with it for a while. Its so good in fact that when I go back to my ultimate I acdually feel like it's a slower wheelbase which i never would have felt if I never used the invicta. I remember you loved the invicta also when you had it in for review.
      At the moment the top 3 wheelbases ive tried is asetek, simucube and vrs. All feel so incredible and can feel very raw
      I think what sold me most on asetek was thw 3rd party wheels making native qrs for asetek and aseteks 3rd party qr they sell which plugs any wheel into the usb on the qr. My pc is a distance away so it helps alot.

    I have the Invicta pedals from Asetek and I've been considering purchasing active pedals for a long time but I've always had several questions that I saw answered here in this review.
    One of them being the fact that the pedals are not very different in behavior from other highend pedals. The noise they produce also seems like a negative point, especially for those who live in an apartment like me. Regarding the effects, ABS is the biggest asset, as is the adjustment of the pedals.
    I hope to one day acquire active pedals... but that day hasn't come yet as I need to see more developments to convince me to change.
    Thank you for the review, which for me is the best and most detailed I have seen about this product... Well done!!

  • @jasonsitu

    Seems like this pedal would be perfect for someone who drives various type of sim, various type of cars and prefer to have pedal feel to match different cars. However for someone who has found their preferred pedal setting, only drive one sim (IRacing in my case) and prefer to have consistent pedal feel for competitiveness even when driving different cars, the active pedal has very little appeal. So I should stick with my p1000 with haptic.

    • @dannyleeracing

    if u use the motor vibration on the brake pedal , how is it behaving?

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's actually the opposite - when you just rest on the brake, you don't feel the vibration as it doesn't seem to engage. As soon as you press the pedal, you start to feel it. It's like it can't produce the effect unless you're pressing it.

    • @cncskn
