Hi! Sorry for the delay replying. So many good unis for this combo - the ones you've mentioned are the big unis with huge campuses, opportunities and student bodies. So if you're looking for a big uni, those are good choices. I'd also throw UTS and RMIT in the mix in those categories. If you're looking for a slightly smaller university that still has good programs in those areas (in Sydney and Melbourne, since those are what you've chosen so far), I'd have a look at Macquarie in Sydney and Deakin/Swinburne in Melbourne. A few broader comments: don't stress too much about your choice... you can always change. If you're taking arts/media subjects, those will generally transfer pretty well between unis, so you won't be "wasting" time if you end up deciding to move unis. I'd also think about what city you want to live in. Sydney and Melbourne are great cities, heaps going for them. But they are certainly more expensive than somewhere like Brisbane. As an exchange student from the US, how will the trimesters work? Only looking to do "1 semester." Which is the spring term for me starting December or January. Thank you!
This depends on your home uni dates. Normally you’d do 1-2 trimesters at UNSW but check with your college as to what you need to do to get enough credit because it depends on their agreement.
If you had to chose between UNSW and Macquarie University which one would you chose? Especially for someone going into first year undergraduate study, doing a double degree of commerce and economics....

Hi! Great video. I plan to study at UNSW next year February as an international undergraduate student. I successfully applied to the commerce/media program and I would like to know how hard for an average student like me to successfully graduate from UNSW because I heard the failure rate of UNSW was quite high like 20%. I have no intuitive sense of how hard the Australian uni courses are gonna be.
Students fail only if they are unsuccessful at completing course requirements. If you work hard, communicate well with your teachers, and take advantage of support services on offer (if you need them), I have no doubt you’ll get through it.
All are excellent unis. I can’t speak for you, since I don’t know you’re interests and goals. If it were me I’d probably look at UNSW and Monash for mech eng. but then I’d also consider other unis like UTS, RMIT, QUT and Swinburne too. Mech eng is a huge field so try to narrow down your specific interests and look for the uni with strengths in that sub discipline.
For an international student, would you say that UNSW has ample opportunities in the comp sci or engineering majors? I've heard that it ranks quite highly in employability rankings, but does that vary from faculty to faculty? are there any specific sites/apps that have reviews on teaching faculty and staff of UNSW that I can check out? just one last question, are the societies and clubs truly good for networking and socializing? I've just heard so much mixed opinions about them from people so I'm a bit skeptical.
Heaps of opportunities at UNSW. Details about discipline results for employability can be found at compared.edu.au For clubs - watch the section on clubs in this video: th-cam.com/video/SlTgmd2tKDM/w-d-xo.html
Great review! I just got two offer letters from monash and unsw for an engineering course... Which uni do you recommend? I am leaning towards unsw because it ranks higher however it is still tough to decide. (International student btw)
Congratulations, those are two fantastic engineering programs. I don’t like to make a specific recommendation without a lot more info about an individual but I can say that both unis are excellent. I’d probably prefer uni location of UNSW more than Monash. Monash clubs and societies are pretty awesome. All up, a line ball choice and you’ll get a great course either way.
if given a choice between ANU, UNSW, QUT and Monash University for a business and Economics related degree...which one should I go for? I'm an international student from India btw who plans to get her bachelor's done from a highly reputed Australian uni. thanks
That depends. What else is important to you? Reputation and…? Work integrated learning? Part time work? Leadership and study abroad opportunities? Climate? Research?
Could anyone give me some advise plz🙏🏻 I got offers from UNSW and RMIT for studying interior design (or interior architecture in unsw) and I am really struggling now! I really love the vibe of unsw as saw from this video, but rmit has a really high ranking in design. Wt should I choose?
This is a good question. Both universities are fantastic. Why I would choose RMIT: - Inner city location, tonnes to do. - Excellent university. Probably one of the best in the country for practical work integrated learning in their degrees - Tonnes of overseas study opportunities - Huge uni, lots of clubs etc. - Melbourne is a great city with a vibrant culture. Less expensive than Sydney (once you're outside the city centre a bit) Why I would choose UNSW: - Single campus with a great vibe (RMIT is a collection of buildings in the CBD of Melbourne). - Outside the city centre of Sydney, not far from the beach and not far to the city (20 minutes on the new tram). - Group of 8 "prestigious" university. You'll notice I have framed these as positives. You should choose based on the things you like and are interested and how they align with the strengths of each uni. Let me know what you decide!
I am currently studying a postgraduate degree at UNSW. The both universities are good, it depends on what you are looking for in the state though. The kinda people you will find around, study methods etc. You can send me a text I u want more info though....Sydney has more internationals than Melbourne though...and I am currently having my Christmas break at Melbourne
Oh wow, what are you looking to study? Like undergraduate or what and which degree? I’m in Victoria so results haven’t even been released yet so I don’t think I’d be able to get an offer yet. I really want to move out of Vic because of the better weather in other states which would be much better for my health and wellbeing, but financially it could be difficult moving out so idk.
Ewroiguqergb Wergewqrhgwe Undergraduate. For UQ, I got offer under Business Management and for UNSW, I got Commerce. I don't know which university is better because I live far from Australia.
Both of these unis are excellent. Either one makes a good choice. Both unis rank well, have good teaching, beautiful campuses and are well located in relation to the city (so there are work/internship opportunities). Brisbane is warmer than Sydney, but UNSW is close to the beach. Either way, you're on a winner. Congratulations.

@@desesseintes604 An update. I'm a 2nd year engineering and science student at Monash. All going well so far. The weather is annoying but it's still a good place to live. I've opened up to politics and everything, and Victoria is by far the best in Australia. Which degrees are you looking to do?
Not sure you’d need to check. Will depend on the courses you’re looking at. Many unis are offering great scholarships for students who start their studies soon (ie start online while borders are closed then come to Oz once they open). Definitely a good time to be looking at it.
Just a question for computer science what should I choose between-monash, unsw, rmit, usyd please all advices needed which is the best in terms of education, jobs, reputation, satisfaction and is the best overall. Specially "life that travels " Please give your opinion on it i will be highly thankful.
Did some CS units at USyd, just don't.. compared to UNSW pretty much all Aussie unis pale in comparison when it comes to CS given just how much UNSW focuses on CS & Engineering. USyd CS has solid research but the undergraduate experience is a pain due to certain lecturers being difficult (Intro to Programming and 2nd yr Algorithms in particular).
According to both the QS and the Times higher education, "USyd" is the best for Computer engineering. But the department of Computer science in Monash university's is not that good as evidenced by its THE subject rank.
I think the advice from others in the community above is probably good. It's not my subject area so I think looking at the rankings and qilt.edu.au about student satisfaction/graduate outcomes is the best way to go to decide between those universities. On a macro level, all of RMIT, Monash, USyd and UNSW have many strengths. If it were me, I'd look in the details of the qilt.edu.au subject website. Let me know what you choose, I'm interested!

I applied for the Bachelor of Science/Computer Science program, a 4-year degree but I just couldn't make up my mind whether the September intake is a good option. Is there any difference if you compare the September intake with Feb and July intake?
@@vhahahahayea they do provide the 3 year degree for Computer Science, but I would want a double degree in Bachelor or Science/Computer Science. What are your thoughts on UNSW and the September intake?
A lot of core courses are available across several study periods. Honestly, it’ll make little difference over the course of your life if you start in September or next year, so just do what works best for you ie if you feel it’ll be too rushed for Sept, just start later.
Can you tell me how popular is psychology in this university and and acceptance rate of international students and also do we need ielts to get into the uni

Right now I am currently undecided between macquarie and unsw for commerce. I have gotten an offer for both unis. Which do you think you would be the best for commerce?
Both have good business programs imo - UNSW maybe just ahead for UG. However there’s more to the decision than just the course. Have a look at MQ’s PACE and Global Leadership Programs as extras. Both unis are in interesting locations, UNSW with better access to the city if that’s important to you.
Both have strong engineering programs in that space so I'd look at some of the other things that the universities offer: extracurricular opportunities, clubs, leadership programs, work integrated learning and study abroad.

Each uni has its own admission requirements. The SAT is a US admissions test, so it won’t be that. All admissions requirements are on each unis’ website, under the relevant degree program.
All unis will consider this for standard admission. There are alternative entry pathways for most unis, though, that consider other factors like relevant work experience etc

Students fail only if they are unsuccessful at completing course requirements. If you work hard, communicate well with your teachers, and take advantage of support services on offer (if you need them), I have no doubt you’ll get through it.
@@ChoosingYourUni Thank you for replying me!
Great Review!! I have gotten offers from UNSW and Monash for Bachelor of commerce, which uni would you recommend?
Both great programs. Sydney and Melbourne are quite different cities though.
@@ChoosingYourUni which city would you recommend?
You should choose the one that suits you. That’s a personal choice that I can’t answer for you.
@@ChoosingYourUni thank you so much!!!
🙌🙌👍
Which University should I choose for Mechanical engineering
1)Unsw
2)Usyd
3)Monash
All are excellent unis. I can’t speak for you, since I don’t know you’re interests and goals. If it were me I’d probably look at UNSW and Monash for mech eng. but then I’d also consider other unis like UTS, RMIT, QUT and Swinburne too. Mech eng is a huge field so try to narrow down your specific interests and look for the uni with strengths in that sub discipline.
@@ChoosingYourUni Thank you I am interested in aviation and automobiles
For an international student, would you say that UNSW has ample opportunities in the comp sci or engineering majors? I've heard that it ranks quite highly in employability rankings, but does that vary from faculty to faculty? are there any specific sites/apps that have reviews on teaching faculty and staff of UNSW that I can check out? just one last question, are the societies and clubs truly good for networking and socializing? I've just heard so much mixed opinions about them from people so I'm a bit skeptical.
Heaps of opportunities at UNSW. Details about discipline results for employability can be found at compared.edu.au
For clubs - watch the section on clubs in this video: th-cam.com/video/SlTgmd2tKDM/w-d-xo.html
Really nice campus. Hopefully I get accepted this year.
Fingers crossed for you!
@@ChoosingYourUni Thank you so much for such a quick response! I’ll look into it a bit more and come to a decision. Keep up the great videos👍🏽
Thanks mate, will do!
if given a choice between ANU, UNSW, QUT and Monash University for a business and Economics related degree...which one should I go for? I'm an international student from India btw who plans to get her bachelor's done from a highly reputed Australian uni. thanks
That depends. What else is important to you? Reputation and…?
Work integrated learning?
Part time work?
Leadership and study abroad opportunities?
Climate?
Research?
Could anyone give me some advise plz🙏🏻
I got offers from UNSW and RMIT for studying interior design (or interior architecture in unsw) and I am really struggling now! I really love the vibe of unsw as saw from this video, but rmit has a really high ranking in design. Wt should I choose?
This is a good question. Both universities are fantastic.
Why I would choose RMIT:
- Inner city location, tonnes to do.
- Excellent university. Probably one of the best in the country for practical work integrated learning in their degrees
- Tonnes of overseas study opportunities
- Huge uni, lots of clubs etc.
- Melbourne is a great city with a vibrant culture. Less expensive than Sydney (once you're outside the city centre a bit)
Why I would choose UNSW:
- Single campus with a great vibe (RMIT is a collection of buildings in the CBD of Melbourne).
I got offer from UNSW and UQ but I'm still thinking of where I should go 😭 Both university look perfect 👌🏻
@@BSingh-on4qr Aw yeah the better weather! I've been struggling to make a decision between Melbourne and UNSW for weeks and now I'm definitely going to UNSW thanks to your comment xx
@@desesseintes604 An update. I'm a 2nd year engineering and science student at Monash. All going well so far. The weather is annoying but it's still a good place to live. I've opened up to politics and everything, and Victoria is by far the best in Australia.
Which degrees are you looking to do?
Is the tuition fees for bachelor programs (international students) in UNSW higher compared to UTS or Macquarie???
Not sure you’d need to check. Will depend on the courses you’re looking at.
Many unis are offering great scholarships for students who start their studies soon (ie start online while borders are closed then come to Oz once they open). Definitely a good time to be looking at it.
Heyy!! Can you tell me which university is best for IT UNSW OR UTS??
Both are great unis for IT
Just a question for computer science what should I choose between-monash, unsw, rmit, usyd please all advices needed which is the best in terms of education, jobs, reputation, satisfaction and is the best overall.
Specially "life that travels " Please give your opinion on it i will be highly thankful.
I got offers too from the same unis you mentioned except USyd. Are you going for Feb intake 2020?
Hiii, Im quite confused whether I could choose NSWU or Macquarie University to study abroad at a major Business. Im Vietnamese student, could u help me review about the academic structure, I mean, does UNSW is really harder than MU ? Because Im worried that I cannot handle when choosing UNSW ? Thanks mr.
That depends very much on you and your aptitude and work ethic. I’m not sure I can comment on that but both unis have good business programs.
I am a prospective international student from India planning to do undergrad in Economics. I am stuck between UNSW, USYD, University of Melbourne, and UQ. Which one do you think would be a better option in terms of uni rankings, employability, international opportunities and subject rankings. It would of much help if you could share your opinion on this.
All excellent uni.
Hi, what are some of your views/understanding about UTS? Is it a good school for business? Between Macquarie and UTS, which is better for a business degree in terms of like industries stuff, job outcomes, how practical it is...

Hey Rob! I'm thinking about studying masters in mining engineering in UNSW. Could you please tell me how is it??
Engineering is a very strong discipline at UNSW. Not sure about mining specifically. The top uni in Oz for mining is Curtin in Perth but you probably can’t go wrong at UNSW.
@@ChoosingYourUniso it won't be a problem according to you?? I'm not choosing Curtin cuz it has a campus in Kalgoorlie which is a very remote area. Not sure about the part time jobs as an international student in Kalgoorlie..
Engineering is a strong program at UNSW.
Looks like there’s a bit of casual and part time work in Kalgoorlie: www.seek.com.au/jobs/in-Kalgoorlie-WA-6430?worktype=245%2C243

for comp science which uni should I choose? unsw or Monash? which uni is better for comp science? better for employability and the course?!
Both awesome unis in this discipline. Melbourne and Sydney are quite different as cities so you might want to consider that as part of your decision.
Is it better to study environmental management in UQ or UNSW?
Both are awesome. Excellent unis, beautiful locations, lots of extracurricular opportunities. Big cities.
Hi, is it possible to get scholarships in UNSW for international students? If how can we get scholarships? Thankss
Yes it’s possible. Details on their website.
UNSW is my dream school, unfortunately it's out of my price range and well such is life😢. However I will recommend that those who can should not pass up an opportunity to go to this place.
👍
anyone here planning to do a PhD at UNSW?
Great uni for doctoral studies. Solid global reputation... which helps open doors.
Hi, I have applied to UNSW and received an offer from them with a 15% scholarship. I applied for the Bachelor of Science/Computer Science program, a 4-year degree but I just couldn't make up my mind whether the September intake is a good option. Is there any difference if you compare the September intake with Feb and July intake?
Hi, I'm in the same boat as you, exactly so lol. If I remember tho, this is a 3 year course with an option 4th year honors right?
@@vhahahahayea they do provide the 3 year degree for Computer Science, but I would want a double degree in Bachelor or Science/Computer Science. What are your thoughts on UNSW and the September intake?
A lot of core courses are available across several study periods. Honestly, it’ll make little difference over the course of your life if you start in September or next year, so just do what works best for you ie if you feel it’ll be too rushed for Sept, just start later.
Dude could u help me with my ps for the scholarship? It would be amazing just a short look is ok too. Anyway to conatct u?

Both have good business programs imo - UNSW maybe just ahead for UG. However there’s more to the decision than just the course. Have a look at MQ’s PACE and Global Leadership Programs as extras.

Each uni has its own admission requirements. The SAT is a US admissions test, so it won’t be that. All admissions requirements are on each unis’ website, under the relevant degree program.
