Hi Aju. what settings do you tend to use the barista express at? Also the preinfusion affects the time of extraction. is there an optimal time for a double espresso extraction or is it just down to the variables of bean quality, dose and tamping?

It's positive Celsius and snowy in NS. I ate a lobster roll for dinner last night! I did not know such a setting existed on the BBE. Certainly worth experimenting with variables, especially the beans and grind. Show more video of Skittles too. Take care!
Hope you enjoyed your Lobster roll 🙂. Yes you can override by programming it again OR use Manual Extraction for 45 sec or as desired.

Preinfusion is always ON by default in any mode. Unless you manually bypass it in Manual mode.

You said at 20sec the coffee is more diluted than 12 seconds ? Wouldn’t it be stronger if it’s slower ?
Hello Aju! And thank you for these excellent videos. I just got my new Barista Express yesterday and my first espresso was a total disaster. I found your videos last night and this morning I was able to make a much better cup.
Question I have, do you start measuring the time the moment you press the button for the extraction, or the moment when the water/coffee begins to flow?
Congratulations on your new machine. You asked me a tough question, as there is debate between which of those is correct. Personally i think, if you are using a professional machine then start timing as soon as you press the Extraction button. In BBE machine I'd start timing from the first drop.

Is there a program mode for the hot water dispenser in order to vary the amount of hot water used for a Americano? Thanks in advance.
No. Its fixed at 8 oz. By that time water gets cold.

Best way to do this is to program by extraction to amount on single/double dose and not just by time.
Thanks for the video. I've programmed single shot to 15 seconds and when I extract it never stops. I've to manually press the button to stop it. I've gone through your video several times to ensure I've followed the correct steps. Without the beans when using just the water the extraction time stops as per programmed but with the means it never stops. Can you please help?

Good question. I would say yes it will reset to Factory default. But I'm going to test it.

That's normal. You need to clean and Descale manually.
@@AjusCafe I tried to clean it just doesn’t let me it just cut down or trip machine and goes off but some times it works fine out of 10 I would say 3 times works fine

i pushed the power button with single shot and double shot button to clean it back flushed and now the water is not coming from brew head. if u guys know anything for my help
During backflush water won't come out of Portafilter. But if the water flow stopped completely, then does you water pump work? Does it try to pump water?
What about dual boiler?
I think there is a Manual mode in dual boiler. I don't have one.
