    *This replaced a smaller Keurig that I owned for 6 years **MyBest.Kitchen** I wanted the convenience of the water receptacle and while this unit is much larger than the previous one, I'm very happy with my purchase. The only downside to this larger model is having to move it from under the cabinets to place the pod and refill it. I was able to rectify this by purchasing glide mats for small appliances. Now, it's perfect!*

    You can also adjust your distribution tool by un-threading the halves, and spinning the polished tip outward a bit and re-tightening. That is 3% more time resulting in a 33% increasing yield weight. Hmm. 🤔. Thanks for the instructional video it's very informative :)

      It wasn't the same shot, if we look at the pressure gauge it was lower on the second shot, that means more water went through the coffee as it didn't put the same resistance.

    I’ve found that depending on roast type how dark the bean is will effect timing, grind ratio darker roast at 18g is heavier and fills the Portafiller more to a light roast. Also the pressure on the Breville for a dark roast never gets as high as what you and others get on your bean.

    • @jakevan1969
      @jakevan1969 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kociarz46 I think it is 10 seconds all together but you have to factor in the time it takes for the vibration pump to ramp up to full pressure. If you hold the button down you can extend this pre-infusuon time which could be good for lighter or fresher roasts. I would also measure yield in grams not ounces, grams in, grams out, as I am sure you have come across in most other videos on TH-cam. A smaller ratio for dark roasts, and larger ratio for lighter roasts.

    This is a great video! I have a few questions:
    This example was done with a double shot. Do I have to dial in again using the single shot, or will the Breville remember my programming for the double shot and divide that by 2 for the single shot? Or do I need to program it again?
    Am I still going for 20-30 seconds on a single shot? Or should that number be different?

    • @eosme
      @eosme 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HoonsCoffee I leave my machine on warm for at least 20 mins with PF on. then before pulling my shot, i would pre-flush the grouphead as many single boiler systems tends to over heat the block. so even though breville says it's at 200F, chances are, it's probably hotter than that. so i even purposely reduce the temp down (pressing the filter size in program mode).

    My pressure doesn't go up to the espresso range at all, even though I programed a manual double shot to the max to see if it will reach that range and I also let the machine warm up for more than 30 mins, do you think I got a defective machine or there is something else I should know about?

      the size is different from machine to machine but I usually start with 7 or 8 for all my coffee beans.
