  • This video is going to tell you how to travel Paris in 2023, consider this your ultimate Paris travel guide! We will cover where you should stay, how to get around, what to eat, what to do, and some exclusive local recommendations.
    Where to stay
Since all the major attractions of Paris are spread around the city, there is no perfect place to stay in Paris. Therefore, when picking an accommodation location in Paris, you should try your best to stay within the city center, specifically within the highway ring surrounding the city. There are many types of accommodation; the cheapest would be to stay in a decent hostel for around $25-$40 a night. Private accommodation in hotels or Airbnb will vary based on location and quality of service, but you can find private stays starting at around $70 a night.
    How to get around
There are a lot of ways to get around Paris. The city is pretty walkable, but it will be a trek if you want to go from one end to the other. The metro and bus system is very extensive and is a perfect option to get around on a budget; you can purchase single, multi-use, or day passes. When picking your accommodation, definitely choose a place within a 10-minute walk of a metro station. The RER is another train system, although this is mainly used for connecting the major airports and Disneyland to the center. Uber also works excellent in the city, but Paris cabs are known for being some of the best due to a rigorous onboarding process.
    Where to eat
France is known for many different foods; I'm going to do my best to give you an overview of the best french cuisines you need to try while you're here. For breakfast, pick up a croissant, Eclair, or baguette from a local cafe. There's plenty around the city; feel free to indulge yourself and eat three or more in one sitting. I'm sure you have heard of Escargots; it's one of the most famous French dishes; it is a cooked snail in its shell generally served in a half or full dozen. L'Escargot Montorgueil is known for having some of the best around Paris.
Also, make sure to try a Duck; the French know how to cook a mean bird. Just look for the word Canard on the menu and prepare to be delighted. Steak and fries are also a popular dish, perfect after a long day exploring the city.
For dessert, you need to pick up some crepes from any of the tens of street vendors you will see throughout the city; if you have a sweet tooth, definitely get one with Nutella. On the other hand, if sweet pancakes aren't your thing, get yourself some Macarons from Laduree, and you will not be disappointed. Every time I'm in Paris, I make sure to make a point to stop by Laduree at least once.
    What to do
There is a lot to do in Paris, and it can be very overwhelming trying to make sure you "see everything." So my first tip is not to try and see everything in one go and don't over-plan. Instead, pick and choose from my list of what you prioritize and schedule a few throughout your day while still leaving some time for some spontaneous activities.
On the first day in the city, do a walking tour to get a feel for where everything is. I recommend the one by Sandeman. Of course, if you prefer to go off the beaten path, you can always create your own by just getting lost walking in the city.
In case you didn't know Paris is the home of the Eiffel Tower, the first time here you should consider visiting this, but don't wait in line. Instead, show up right when it opens or purchase a VIP pass to bypass the queue.
The Louvre features some unique artworks; I would budget 2-3 hours here. Of course, you could easily spend the entire day at the Louvre, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're an art fanatic.
Check out the Arc de Triomphe, one of three arches around Europe. The other ones are located in Barcelona, Spain, and Bucharest, Romania. You can pay to go up to the top, but if you're on a budget, you can enjoy beautiful views for free from the surrounding square.
Unfortunately, Notre Dame Cathedral is still closed after the tragic fire a couple of years ago, but you can still view it from a distance if you're interested.
You should check out the Catacombs; it is an underground labyrinth with the remains of over 6 million Prussians inside. It's a super erry feeling walking through the millions of bones that are lining the cave walls.
Lastly, you will want to go to a wine tasting; the French have fantastic wine. Even the cheap house wine will not disappoint. I recommend finding a wine tasting on Airbnb experiences, or create your own with a trip to the supermarket.
I'm giving an honorable mention to Disney land. If you're a Disney fan, I'm sure you were already planning on going to Disney Paris, but I prefer to stay in the city.

You mentioned Metro. It would have been helpful to talk about the Carte Navigo and the weekly pass that you can buy.

Awesome video❤️and what is the best car rent service in paris?

Thank you for the support, it definitely depends on what you’re looking for. I personally don’t rent cars often, but normally just google the lowest rate. Some reputable companies are Hertz, Avis, Sixt, and Enterprise. I would only rent a car if you plan on going outside the city frequently, otherwise using Uber and public transit would be much more convenient!

Were there COVID restrictions? Did you need a health pass to use in restaurants and museums?

    • @KyleSpicklerTravels
      @KyleSpicklerTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes they did check the health pass very frequently, but they also did accept any countries equivalent. Such as the CDC vaccination card, or I believe if you have a test within 48/72 hours it would give you a temporary green pass. There is also a way to convert your countries health pass to a French one, but this would definitely be giving up a level of privacy

Hi Melanie ! Yes, you'll need a health pass at least until February 2022, and maybe until July 2022 if the next covid wave comes to us.
