When I think about it as the products are now... 16" MacBook Pro, 12.9" iPad Pro w/ Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard, 14 Pro, Apple Watch Ultra, AirPods Max and Pro, Apple TV, HomePod and Mini...
Oh wait, minus the MacBook Pro, I already have all of that, just the previous year model of the iPad and iPhone. I grabbed the M1 iPad Pro just after the M2 came out, got $400 off of that.
Totaling it all up, $2800, $1700, $1300, $800, $550, $300, $250, $150, $100. $7950 before any sales tax, but also not counting any sales. Got my iPad for $1300, Apple Watch Ultra for $740, AirPods Max for $430, AirPods Pro for $200, Homepods I'd buy openbox/refurbished for around $200 ish (got the first gen for that much), then HomePod Mini for around $90.
$740 saved from sales. MacBook could likely be found with a $300 or $400 discount to save even more. Just have to keep an eye out for the prices at different retailers instead of buying from Apple directly.

    iPhone 13 mini (256 GB)
    AirPods Pro

I’d go with pretty much what I’ve already got.
    - Top end iPad Pro 12.9” with v2 Pencil and Magic Keyboard
    - Latest iPhone Pro non-Max 256 GB for now (the smaller one is perfect size for me)
    - Watch Ultra
    - AirPods Max
    - Apple TV top end model - expensive for a set-top streaming device, maybe, but also by far the best set-top streaming device on the market by a very wide margin. Only thing close is Roku and they cost almost as much for a less pleasant experience
+ Mac Mini or Studio with an M2, whenever that’s available and when I’m ready to spend more on more Apple hardware
+ MacBook Pro M2, probably 14”, maybe 16”, 32 GB RAM and probably 2 TB SSD depending on when I’m ready to spend more on more Apple hardware
? Maybe some kind of HomePod at some point just to compare it against the competition because sometimes Alexa ticks me off and I’m not sure it’s actually the best option
I’d skip the high end Apple monitor due to the price difference between it and non-Apple versions of it or competitors to it. I don’t do anything that would warrant spending the extra money on the Apple one, but if I did, then I’d consider buying it because anything actually better costs many times more money. It is one of the best displays you can buy for under $10,000, but while I’m willing to spend money on good products, I’m not made of _that much_ money.

This was a fantastic way of showcasing just how versatile the options really are at this point. I'm in the process of updating everything, and it really made me go back and question what I *actually* need for my work.
So, ideally, my perfect setup would be:
Macbook Pro 16'' M2 - Perfect for the work I'm doing and works just as well docked as it does on the field.
iPad Pro 12.9'' + magic keyboard + Apple pencil - when I can't take the Macbook with me, this will serve perfectly for notes, writing, drawing, and even recording.
iPhone 14 Pro Max - I need the battery life and the cameras, although if I got even a tad better battery life, I'd go with the Mini, and I'm devastated that Apple killed the model.
Airpods Pro Max - I've tried them before and came away super impressed. I travel often, so anything with noise cancellation is a must, but I've found that my ears can't handle the plastic tips that in-ear models use. The blue ones are also gorgeous.
Expensive, probably, but I figure these would last me the better part of a decade without any issue, and at that point it doesn't feel like that big of an investment. There's a level I'm willing to invest in things making my life easier and my workflow faster - and I feel that Apple offers that better than anyone else right now.

I'm with Anthony. It actually makes sense to have both the laptop and the iPad pro with magic keyboard. My current Apple setup is the M1 Pro 16" MacBook pro, Studio display and 12.9" iPad pro. I might feel differently if I had gone with the 14" MacBook pro because it would be much closer in size to the iPad. It is really nice to have both Mac OS and iPad OS. I also have the iPhone 13 Pro Max, pair of homepod Minis and Apple TV in my living room to link my TV to the rest of the setup. Once you are hooked in the ecosystem, it's hard to stop building it out.

My current Apple set-up, in terms of newer devices that I use regularly, consists of an M1 Mac Mini, an iPhone 11 and an iPhone 6s (which I use pretty much just for music, as it's the last iPhone with a headphone jack).
I would probably get an M2 Pro Mac Mini, an M1 iPad Air, a current Apple Watch SE and the upcoming USB-C iPhone 15 as my dream Apple set-up.
But I do already kinda have my dream set-up, in the sense that I've recently acquired and upgraded several amazing vintage Macs.
I upgraded a 2013 trashcan Mac Pro with 64 GB of RAM and a 1 TB Samsung 980 NVMe SSD; I'd wanted a 2013 Mac Pro for ages, and now it has some awesome specs. I upgraded a 2010 5,1 cheesegrater Mac Pro with 48 GB of triple-channel memory and a 500 GB NVMe boot-drive (I installed the NVMe SSD earlier today, in fact). I installed an mSATA SSD, dual-booting Mac OS 9 and Tiger, in a beautiful iMac G4. I also installed dual SSDs in my 2008 first-gen MacBook Pro, which I named "Steve Martin".

iMac 27" 5K has always been the sweet spot for me in terms of capability, form factor and price. The screen needs to be 5k or nothing, in my view. 4K doesn't do it. But, in its absence, the fact that a base Studio and Studio Display combo weigh in at £3,500, no longer in my price bracket. Mini Pro probably closer in terms of keeping the cost down, but £1500 for that Studio Display is insane! Got my eye on the Samsung Viewfinity S9 when (IF!) it ever comes out - not confident it's going to cost any less!

First of all, fantastic video! I loved the whole setup and the range of people you got to play the game. I'd love to see a followup where they use their dream setup for a while to see if they like it.
Anothony was great as always, very practical and got a setup that while not inexpensive was very good value (as far as Apple goes).
I'm now convinced that Dan needs to be in every video. His humor and insight is exactly the kind of thing I love to watch. What I'd really love is to see him talking about what he would use for a professional audio setup, what his process is like, and other educational stuff in the audio space.
Nicole strikes me as a pretty well informed Apple enjoyer, she also got a pretty sensible setup, and her presence on screen was very nice.
Dennis' purchasing decision, much like the rest of his on screen personality, is silly.
Finally, Jonathan still seems to have the critical fanboy perspective nailed down, and I think that both his setup and reaction to the price showed that pretty well.
Great work to the MA team, keep it up!

    Here's what I would pick:
Mac (Desktop): M1 Max (32-Core GPU) Mac Studio, 64GB Ram, 4TB SSD
    Mac (Laptop): 16' M2 Pro, 32GB Ram, 2TB SSD
Monitor: Pro Display XDR w/ Vesa Mount Adapter
iPad: iPad Pro 11", 512gb w/ Apple Pencil 2nd Gen
    iPhone: iPhone 14 Pro, 256GB
    Watch: Apple Watch 8
Accessories: AirPods Pro's Gen 2, HomePod Mini, Apple TV + Ethernet
I'm mainly a writer, but I've also been getting into directing, editing, filming, among other roles. Thing is I dont actually need that much power for most of it, my daily driver is a M1 Mac Mini and it handles everything I throw at it without breaking a sweat, so I'd mainly be going for storage on the desktop. The only reason I went with the higher GPU option was because I view animation files from my team, so I'd need to make sure I could actually watch them.
M2 Pro for the laptop as, again, it will handle all my video editing, and the lower powered CPU will make the battery last longer. I'd only really be using it as a laptop when I go out every so often with the intent of finishing the edit of a video or going on a trip, so I'd want it to last as long as possible while still getting my work done.
Lol I dont actually want the Pro Display XDR, but if I HAD to pick one from that table, I'd rather that over the Studio Display. Otherwise, I'd pick a 4K 32" Dell Monitor.
The iPad with apple pencil would be perfect for sketching storyboards or concepts to hand over to much better artists so I wouldn't be ripping pages out of my sketchbook anymore. The only reason I'd go with the pro is for the extra storage, but I'd be perfectly happy with a iPad Air with 256gb of storage
The only reason I'd take the iPhone is cus my current one's battery is cooked. If it wasn't, I'd actually stick with my iPhone XR.
bro i dont need an apple watch but sure why not lol
And finally; AirPods Pro's are already great, heard the Gen 2's are even better. HomePod Mini to replace my Google Nest. Apple TV because Apple TV.
    Total Price: £15'630... Damn.
Please dont make fun of me for being dumb / a nerd / an apple user, I just have no life and daydream way too much about my dream set up

We have an m1 green imac in the music department and EVERY TIME I WALK PAST IT i feel like i want it more and more. But theeen again, i really do want to buy a second hand m1 pro macbook 14 for the same price AND you get that portability that comes with a laptop. ALSO i would LOVE the 2021 ipad mini.... ITS JUST SO CUTE! As someone who grew up with a first gen ipad mini, it just adds that little touch that reaches out to me over all the others, although the deal breaker for me is the 60 hz display.... if it had 120?
