    Thanks for this information. Our installer just completed our Encharge install, and we are waiting for our PTO to get them online.

    i was gonna but some maxeon 5 panels but they have inverters in them. would they still be compatible with enphase 10t?

      Hi Paul, we don't work with maxeon panels so aren't sure about the synchronicity between the two technologies. Perhaps a rep at Maxeon would have an answer.

    Every time I research these batteries I hear so much about grid down which is ok I guess. but I want to hear more about Time of Use. Does it make sense to get a battery for Time of Use? I know each location has different power prices and some places don't offer Time of Use however, can we not get a baseline example to explain?

      Hey Craig, here in Ohio time of use rates don't apply. But it is something we believe is coming. Here's how it works: when the grid experiences peak demand, say during the summertime when folks are running their AC's and pool pumps the most, say electricity will cost 50 percent more during peak hours (2pm - 7 pm) than during off-peak hours. If your electric bill is $200, and that half of the electricity you need comes during those peak hours. In this example, your $200 bill would increase to $250. Your solar installer should be able to explain how this applies in your particular situation -- each home uses electricity at different times/ different hours. Thanks for watching!

    I would like to hear about all the parts in the Enphase battery system. Also with the new IQ8s on the panels - how does that change the Enphase battery system?

    • @kokosingsolar
      @kokosingsolar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question and we'll do our best to answer here. Please reach out if this doesn't completely answer your question! Enphase is transitioning many of its components to a new naming system. The components include the Encharge IQ battery (3 or 10), Enpower smart switch, IQ Envoy, Enphase combiner 3, or a third party circuit panel for solar branches. At Third Sun Solar, we also include an exterior battery disconnect for first responders, although it is not required for the state of Ohio. The new IQ8s WITH battery have all the same components although they have been upgraded specifically for the IQ8s. In the same order the components are as follows Enphase IQ batteries(3T or 10T), System Controller 2, IQ Gateway, and Combiner 4. The difference with the IQ8s is batteries are not needed if the customer would only like light backup energy in the event the sun is out.

    Enphase batteries are not available in Australia, as I understand. When it would be available?

      Enphase has a great map of certified installers on their website that may be a good resource for you!

    Thanks for the video! How redundant is the neutral forming transformer in the smart switch?

    • @kokosingsolar
      @kokosingsolar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the question! The Neutral Forming Transformer in the smart switch is necessary, similar to a transfer switch for a generator. When the grid goes down the NFT is needed to create a microgrid.

      @@kokosingsolar thanks for the answer. I guess I should have asked how reliable is the autotransformer and if it fails will only 120 loads be affected? Thanks

    • @kokosingsolar
      @kokosingsolar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ABC-wz2db It works like any typical autotransformer designed within the past 10 years. The Enphase energy storage system is rated to 240V. Beyond that, we won't be able to provide any more specifics. Thanks for reaching out!
