    Okay these pricing is beyond craziness. With the new 16kw LG you can do so much more and pay allot less. Even the old 10 KW LG's we were selling for $7,500 in Costa Rica and that included a 32% tax 🤯.

      This is honestly the biggest thing holding me back from buying a home backup battery system. The price per kWh is insanely high vs the rest of the industry. I’m more inclined to get an EV that has vehicle to home capability to get the best value for my money and a higher capacity battery.

    I already have an 11.1kW Enphase (IQ7) system installed on my house. You talked about how much it would cost to install a complete turnkey solar PV array WITH Encharge battery back up. What I want to know is how much it would cost to install a minimal (but scalable) encharge system on my existing PV array.

    These prices are hilarious, even at the supposed discount. You can DIY a 10 kw PV system with 30 kwh worth of battery and 20 kw worth of inverters for $20-25k. That is some impressively inflated install and profit overhead.

The truth is that 11,500 for an encharge 10 OTD is a killer deal and the solar companies aren’t even really making that much money from them. Batteries are more being used as an area to prove you’re an expert and to help get the solar contract.

Tesla wants 17k for two powerwall+ units if I buy their panels. The Tesla battery is at minimum 30% better specs of the encharge 10. I'd have 26kWh vs. 20. Installation cost of a battery system should be 2-3k. So I'd expect 2 encharge 10's for about 15-6k all in is a fair price still leaving profit for the installer.

      I'm just a consumer who tries to do as much homework as I can. Both Encharge and Tesla have similar battery warranties. Actually Tesla is better with 10yr/ unlimited cycles so tell me what the battery composition with Encharge gets me for about $5k more per battery. I honestly think both over engineer so it's likely they go past 10 and maintain a decent capacity. You know more about the install, BUT as a consumer if I get one battery installed, the second battery should be much cheaper to install. At least they are with power walls where they stack them. I was just quoted $25k for two encharge 10 batteries. That's $12.5k per battery. It's $14k for one. If someone could explain why that is, when I could buy the battery for $7k on the encharge site. How much is labor and how much is other product needed to install the battery? $250 x 8 is $2000. Does it take 8 hours to install batteries? Does it take double the effort and double the product for two encharge batteries? Enlighten me please.

    As of 1 week ago now a solar company in OKC OK will install an Encharge 10 financed through them for $15,300 OR it's $12,000 cash installed (you could finance it your own way and use the cash option). Don't forget the 26% tax credit!!!

    With the current iQ7 microinverters customers do not have ability to produce power (directy from PV system) ; with one Enphase 10 battery does it contain the NEW iQ8 microinverters installed and allow the PV to function grid down sunny day while keeping the battery full saving battery energy for sundown/grid down time?
    I believe many people, including myself are holding out/waiting for iQ8 PV microinverters release. But, if customer goes with older iQ7/cheaper inverters (when 8's releaseed) and plans to immediately add Enphase battery, would customer not get the same affect just by adding current iQ8 installed battery backup making the PV iQ8's a moot point?

    • @jerry9195
      @jerry9195 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You need both the battery AND the Enpower switch for the PV system to function if the grid goes down. In other words, with just a battery, you can't go off grid.

    • @ABC-wz2db
      @ABC-wz2db 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      IQ8 in the battery can provide the frequency and voltage reference for the IQ7pv to function in a grid down environment. The beauty of IQ8PVapor wear is it’s supposed to not need a battery to provide off grid power when the sun is shining.

    • @Taedrin
      @Taedrin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I understand it, in an off grid system the number of operational IQ7s in your system is limited by the number of IQ8s in your battery. So if you have 20 IQ7s and 12IQ8s in your battery, the Ensemble system will shutdown/throttle 8 of your IQ7s when the grid goes down so that the IQ7s don't "overpower" the IQ8s.

      @@totesmagoats1985 Once again the 8 minutes is not the issue!! That is the greatest gift it is the hours of labor, research, and cost of natural resources (just like for oil) it takes to make the panels and batteries and keep replacing them that is the complete puzzle. If sun light was 24/7 your argument would be valid but it is not so for a fair comparison power 24/7 has to be part of the puzzle. I envision a simple over night power storage like a tank that solar fills with water over night and then a highly efficient turbo generator (with friction free magnetic bearings) that uses the potential energy in the water to generate power overnight as the water is fed back into a tank at a lower elevation. Pump and tank size could be matched to demand over night. Greed with always increase the cost of ANY power source. Eliminating the resources you have to purchase to use power is the key to freedom from greed to get energy. Buying panels every 20 years and batteries every ten years is still keeping you tied to a resource flow that can explode in price once you have no other choices.

      @@btrotta Yes, it does include the solar panels and the micro-inverters and everything else you need for a complete "turn-key" solar system as stated in the video. If just one battery costs $41K, then why does adding a second battery only cost $11K more? I suggest you re-watch the video.

      It is for a turnkey solar system using 21 QCELLS 380 and IQ7+ micros. Pricing is a little more generally in our videos to account for more complex battery backup installations. Most customers have and will pay less than what’s shown.

    1) How do these compare to the Generac Powercell systems? 2) Why don't you tell people the truth, that they don't get those tax credits if their income comes from a non-taxable source.

      Maybe that’s why they’re called tax-credits? 🧐

    Okay we can see there's a lot of bias here, let's talk about the stability of the corporation of enphase. Who has a history of almost going bankrupt but had to be bailed out. Why would you build a battery that's only 3 KW when the industry for homes is above 10.

      He's a Tesla hater. Every video he does he has to say something bad about Tesla. I'm definitely not a Tesla fanboy, but his obsession with badmouthing them is really annoying.

      If you live in a area that has mild weather and do not need a/c and plan on using your most electricity using equipment when the sun is shining, you would be fine with 3 kWh.

    A Tesla Model 3 with a bigger battery pack costs less than Enphase 40kwh storage kit. Enphase are definitely ripping people off.
