      These scammers sold these people a illusion, and a dream. Same with "Herbert the pervert" visits Ukraine, and Russia. It's a lie that these women are desperate to get out of the country. In most cases, they don't want a man that is 50 years older. Heck, I'm 38, and even I would not go for someone 20 years younger. Maybe 10 max.

    When you are lonely. This type of attention from any man could feel intoxicating. The attention she craves has given her new purpose to her day. She clearly was willing to do anything to keep that feeling. Most men want a younger woman. So I think it would be very rare for a younger man to genuinely desire to be with a pension aged woman without an ulterior motive.

    What I find astonishing about these scams, is how easily the victims hand over increasingly large amounts of money, to someone they have never even spoken to, with no questions or real inquiries, as to why such large amounts of money are needed in quick succession. No one on earth would nonchalantly, part with their money, in the way that these hapless victims have, so why have they? None of it makes sense, hasn't everyone felt lonely and sad at some time in their life, but that doesn't make us vulnerable to heartless online scammers does it? it's like saying that being on one's own, and not enjoying it, would predispose anyone to online romance fraud, it's not true for all but a small minority, of very gullible women and men alike.

    I'm looking for advice or answers on what to do if you've had your pictures and name stolen by a romance scammer. Apparently, someone is using my pictures and name on tinder in a city I don't live in. I'm worried that someone might get scammed thinking they're interacting with me! (I only found out by pure luck, when an old friend who was recently divorced found my supposed "profile" and sent me a text saying they didn't know I was single!)
    FWIW, I'm not even sure how they got my name and pics, since the few social media accounts I have all have the privacy settings locked down as tightly as possible, and only one even has my actual image. Could they have gotten it from pictures of me that someone else shared or posted and tagged with my name? I'd feel so awful if someone was scammed by someone using my image!

    • @maneckineckbeard1749
      @maneckineckbeard1749 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ladygumshoe7402 Apparently the "money recovery agent/PI" scam is actually often carried out by the exact same scammer or scamming syndicate that initially defrauded the victim! They already have all the victim's info, so it's relatively easy for them to just morph into the new identity of savior once the victim has finally well & truly realized they were scammed and is therefore desperate to regain their lost money.
      These scammers are organized and cunning enough to know that just because a victim has finally caught on to the fact that they're being scammed, it doesn't necessarily mean that the cash flow has to stop; the scammers know that the victim will not only be desperate to regain the lost assets, but will also most likely still have their minds clouded by emotions of rage, humiliationand desire for retaliation...thus making the victims perfect for the next stage of the scam.
      It's really almost beyond my ability to comprehend how these scammers can be so utterly devoid of basic human compassion for their victims, despite spending so much time getting to know them. The level of dehumanization of the victims is horrific. As I've said in previous comments, my family came to the USA as penniless ethnic minority refugees fleeing nightmarish persecution...but it never occured to them to dehumanize others en masse, and they even made a point to speak about how not everyone in their homeland was evil and deserving of punishment, despite the hideous persecution they'd suffered. It also never occured to them to steal money from random members of the culture from which they'd fled.
      But the scammers seem commonly claim their actions are some sort of general balancing of the scales of justice; they often claim that western white people as a whole have contributed to their poverty and powerlessness, so they often claim that they're righting injustice and inequality by assuming that any white western person "deserves" to be defrauded. However, whilst watching these videos, I have been shocked and horrified to learn just how many nonwhite, non-western people living in desperately impoverished conditions are ALSO scammed...so that to me at least shows that any talk of the scamming somehow being about righting the injustices suffered by African people at the hands of whites is all just an excuse. In reality, it appears that literally *anyone* with a few spare dollars is a potential victim. It's just so sickening and makes me SO angry!!

    I met a lady who was caught up in a scam . She knew her “fellow” was a young Doctor ( ha ha) Africa. Now this woman was a retired ( in her 70’s) teacher. She lived in the hotel I managed for a few years . ( I don’t know why, we had several resident guests) she would come to the front telling us all stories of how her young Doctor in Africa was going to send for her as soon as he got things straight. They were buying a mansion there and have servants. She even said if I was nice I could come along as a servant ( riiiiiggghhht). At this time I didn’t know she was sending money to this guy, but figured this was a scam. One of my guys had a family emergency so I took over his shift so he could go. She comes to the office looking for the staff member. She said he helps her take pictures . She asked if I could take pictures of gift cards and send these cards to her Fiancé in Africa. I asked her how long has she been sending this person money.. she stopped and thought then replied at least a year, he needed money for the house he was building them. I told her I believed she was being scammed and wouldn’t help.
    I saw a sweet , kind , meek woman turn into an emotional wreck. He was going to loose everything and it would be all my fault, blah blah blah. I asked her what was she going to do if she lost everything to this scammer, she started screaming about he loves her and is a man of God. (😳🙄, big red flag) I was going to hell.. she ended up eventually homeless because he told her to send basically everything she had and sell everything but a few clothes he was coming to get her that weekend and fly her back to Africa to their home. She was selling her jewelry that was her mothers ( she said) , what she couldn’t sell she gave away so all she had was a bag of stuff , because he was getting her all new stuff in Africa. He was to arrive by helicopter in the field by the motel, she told him he could land his helicopter there. She was paid up through Saturday. He was supposed to be there.. nope. Then Sunday.. she called him and called him no reply. Then he blocked her. She ended up being evicted due to not being able to pay. She was welcomed to come back once she had the funds to pay rent. We never saw her again.
    She told the guy she was going to be homeless for a month .. and he kept up with the scam. Worse than seeing these scammers have no empathy was watching her act like a mad woman trying to get these scammers money. Nothing you say could have stopped her from giving this scammer her last dollar. She wanted that fantasy so bad. It comes to a point to where when do you stop feeling sorry for someone you can’t save from themselves.

      in america money grows on trees. people outside of the US dont realize that. you can live your entire life borrowing money from banks and not paying it back. the banks harvest the money from the trees and so it is virtually free for them. so they don t care if you return it back or you do not.

      Well they use manipulation tactics to get you to doubt your reality. I know I almost fell for it but my logical brain won. They get you hooked with love bombing. You feel like you are on some type of drug and also extreme gaslighting.

      God...your comment is so awesome. I agree with you on everything you said...from what she said, it sounded like she would still want to be with him if the photos were actually his. Pretty sad when physical appearance is what moves the world, and if you're attractive you can get away with anything.

      She was scammed before and went back for a second scamming. I don't feel any sympathy for her. It was probably her husband's money that he left her. I doubt she earned it herself, she would be a more savvy person.

      @@deeandrews7051 you'll be surprised how many intellectual people get scammed. I saw 1 and she was something on the lines of a solicitor I can't remember exactly but she was a well educated woman and gave her scammer a million in all. Wow I just don't get it, and this woman really believes that he wanted to be with her come on. And this is not the first time she's been scammed. She doesn't even seem really bothered by it and she will get scammed again. I just hope she has no children cause that's their inheritance gone.

      It's a very, very small minority of elder women who develop these addictions where they lose their life savings. They are dirty old women looking for young studs.
