Sorry for the unedited video, I just knew I had to get this information out ASAP cause people in EST are starting to get off work! So here is this video, I genuinely hope it helps!
Wow thanks for this! Despite missing a workshop day due to forgetting about the emergency maintenance, I'm already halfway to rank 11 from mostly workshop. I'll have to give this method a shot, though since I have CTS (carpal tunnel), I'll have to be a lot more circumspect with this method. I think it'll still be useful as long as I'm careful.
Thank you! You are a life saver! For those with bad eyes like me here's the macro you can quickly copy and paste: /merror off /micon "Duty Action I" /ac "Duty Action I" /targetnpc /lockon on /automove on
Tried this out, this works great on controller if you set the macro on the same button as confirm (im on PS5, so X). Just press X over and over and over, just holding R2 to pop the macro, and just X to gather. Only thing is the Duty Action doesnt pop, but Ill mess around and see if I can fix it. Thank you for the macro!!!
If you start at the right spot and gather one round manually clockwise you don't even get stuck. I've been doing this for hours and it works perfectly :D
if youre going to automate this with a keyboard macro, i recommend throwing in a Q press after 2 to do a little strafe just in case you get stuck on a rock or something.
Don't forget you can sort of "map" a route since once you mine everything you will only have 1 node up at a time and they will respawn in the order they were mined, so you can brick your route if you just blindly start mining and the next node to spawn is behind a rock or behind the camera causing your character to run into the edge of the mountain, so there is definitely a route you can create that will never ever get stuck and will run forever, too lazy to post a pic but basically: mine the nodes manually at first in an order that makes sense and wont get you stuck in a rock or spawn out of camera, then once you are down to 1 node start the "automation". making around 10600exp per hour.
If you have access to your old computer, you can just transfer your information from your old client to the new one. You'll have to download from the ffxiv launcher and reupload on launcher on new pc. You'll have all of your hotbars, macros, everything set up exactly like it was before. It's easier than it sounds. Just google UI transfer for 14. Took me 5 minutes.
in best case you can get 18 gathering spots per minute this way. 180 exp per minute = 10800 exp per hour. You need 42000 exp just to get from level 10 to 11, so that means almost 4 hours of nonstop clicking. Yeah, no, i rather sleep more
for me it doesnt seem to work for some reason, the macro only targets the nearest thing visible on my screen and if there is nothing visible instead of snapping to something off screen it will just make my character auto run in a straight line breaking the cycle :c
imagine using your mouse/keyboard software to make a macro that does 1...2...1...2...1...2...1...2 on an endless loop while using this macro. i totaly didnt use this while i was afk 👀 (idk if it was due to an ulttawide screen but i never had targeting issues and never had to turn my camera)
After work later I'm finally planning to get back to Island Sanctuary and just do a straight grind as well. Anyone have any estimates on how long it may take to get from 10 to 12 just grinding?
This absolutely does not work. I execute the macro and it locks on to the nearest node but my character just runs forward or off in a random direction. I also just continue to run without stopping. Even if I aiming my camera at the node first I just run past it. I changed from legacy to standard movement mode in case maybe that was it but nope, so what am I missing?
or you could do a combination of the 2 methods and grind spesific much used materials like Salt. to then just let the factory's work. its probably the least efficient at the start but hey i got time to waste.
I have tried this but I can't leave my pc because with this macro my character will run to the closes node in that is on my screen, so i will have to turn my camera towards the closest node. Anyone knows if there is an solution for that? Thanks for the guide btw!
This doesn't work for me. Everything works fine, but usually once a cycle or so my character will end up just going into an autorun towards a wall or something and the 1 key just won't find the next target. I have to adjust the screen and then start again. I don't know if i'm getting too far away for it to target the next one, or what. I'm in the same mountaintop spot, so it's got to be a setting or something.
It's feeling a century doing this grind but there is no other easier way... just hours and hours clicking 2 buttons but still hours and hours why Yoshi P do that at least make stuff give us 20 xp or more when collect -_-
I hate Island sanctuary with a passion .... so I might take this and automate it with a Keyboard-macro and just let it run for a few hours. ... I don't want to spend any more time than absolutely necessary on this damn island. XD
Does anyone have a tip for what you do when you are capped on the reccourse there? I cant farm there anymore because I am at 999, are there other places? Or can you delete recourcces somehow?
If you're at 999 I'd recommend selling them, you can go in your cozy cabin to the NPC in there and do exports. I had to do this MANY times for stones. I hit 999 cap for stone so often leveling D=
if youre lazy like me you can use mostly all the mountain items to let you buddys craft stuff for some extra blue cutrency. (i never bother looking what to craft for efficency since i have nothing left to buy)
same thing I was wondering? I guess you just grind anyway so I mean this is helpful for some I guess but ya not really impressed but thanks anyway? I guess?
this is the leveling guide, the only other way to level up is to do what you usually do in the island which is workshop and other things, hes showing another leveling way by using a macro thats the point

@@wasdfit yes, thats annoying
This is incredible. I wish I knew about it hours earlier, cuz I've been clicking the past 25k exp haha. Thanks for this

I saw your Gator vid and knew I had to grind from level 10 to 12 so I watched this video and you helped me so much with that, thank you!!
Glad I could help! :D
Thanks for this Cole, I can always rely on you to guide me through my descent into further island sanctuary madness haha
Any time! MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Thank you!! Very helpful
Awesome guide again, ty for making ^^ I shall be sharing the link with my FC

This really changed how I gather in IS, ty.
Dude you earned a sub today :D
Woah! Ty so much for this! Now I can put my time in my studies while auto and forget this is going on 😊
You're welcome 😊

Cole, you are one of the most magical creators on this app, we loves you mate! Thanks for the wonderful guide!

would really help if the macros were in the discription... not sure what it says as its a bit blurry :(
So much fun. 😊
Can confirm this works. And if you have a keyboard or mouse that can be macro'd as well, well....that's all I have to say right? XD
peak ff14 content
You can set your confirm key to something like F and use legacy movement. You can do all this with 1 key press and no macro
YOU rock. Ultrasound? I hope you are OK!

Critical thinking.
For a second, I thought you'd put the macro in the description XD
Sorry D: actually I really should have my bad!

start on the copper node next to the granite node, zoom cam all the way out and look downish

try to zoom out to max and set the camera mostly from an overview. wors fine for me like that
Hello, is there a way to use this for PS5 ?
I'm laughing my ass off trying to use this macro. My lil lala is just trying to run away rather than going to a node lmao 😭
