@@muajin Yes, focus on building 3 workshops, before the 2 granaries. Get the workshops up and running asap to maximize the xp potential/cowries gain. Remember to look at the supply/demand of the items you plan on crafting AND set an order so you gain efficiency increased (this is done by having items of the same type (woodwork, food, ect) produced after each other, but it cannot be the same item ei. potion -> potion -> potion. Go for something like necklace -> chair -> necklace. That being said, the granaries are still important, so you should get those going asap aswell to get the spruce you'll need later. I build 2 workshops -> 2 granaries -> last workshop, in that order and that worked fine aswell.
I found a spot that is in my opinion a little better... Coming out of your town there is like a lake, to the left of that in the river there is a bunch of rock nodes. In there you can do a path of 13 nodes that are beside each other. Thats the place i use to farm xp.
That seems to be the number one mistake I've seen from TH-camrs who vlog on Final Fantasy XIV was that they bought glamour items with seafarer's cowries and then got stuck because they couldn't upgrade. As soon as I saw that I had to pay 1,000 cowries to upgrade my island the first time, I figured it was going to be like that several more times so I opted to just save all my cowries until I fully upgraded my island, then start buying the collectibles.
Tip that I've been using: Dancers at lvl 90 have 3 dashes, which seems to be the fastest way to move from node to node. Reapers are the better alternative only when you use dashes whenever they're up, but if you alt-tab or take breaks than dancer is the better one.
Reaper is actually the better choice. Hell's Ingress is at a 20 second Cooldown for 15 yalms, 5 more yalms than dancer. En Avant is 10 yalms for 30 seconds recast. Not counting the 3 initial charges, Reaper gets 1 teleport more and further away than dancer every minute.
@@Gameshunter92 Peloton stacks with Sprint for a minor movement speed gain, so you need to take that into account as well. It probably depends on what you are harvesting, I have found Reaper to be useful for routes that have an infrequent 15+ yalm gap, and Dancer more useful for a route that has small gaps, like the hemp farm on the east side of the island.

If you go to your challenge log and look under the "other" tab, you'll see that there are two challenges you can do for 2k Seafarer's Cowrie. If you're power leveling, then you've probably already completed it.
Build everything, plant and harvest crop when ready, fill the animal pen, take care of the animals and collect their resources when ready. Go to 5:40 There, I saved you 5 min and 40 seconds of useless information designed to bloat the video for max ad revenue. You’re welcome.
FYI to anyone who doesn't want to rush: There's really nothing after rank 8 to rush for. Another landmark for fractionally more seafarers from workshops, and flying which is nice but only really unlocks an extra farm animal. You will casually hit rank 10 by next weekend so long as you operate the workshop efficiently, and complete the new stuff as it comes available. Keep in mind that once you hit rank 10, you will no longer get experience from gathering, afterwhich doing so will feel far more of a chore.
@@ioverslept. Right, there's also the fountain for those really keen, but these are cosmetic and won't assist in progressing the island, and will be there when you reach rank 10 regardless of when. Whereas prior ranks up to 8 unlocked methods of gathering, and upgrades to buildings and plots. Not having these will mean losing out on seafarer earnings.

Okay so originally I wasn't going to comment on your videos, original I think you do a great job overall of explaining things, however I must point out that some of your information is just straight wrong. I am about halfway to level 10 in my island. I leveled up to 9 maxing out both the animal stables (pokecenter) and cropland. When I dinged 9 I was given 2 quests from both mammets to create tools and give them to automate caring for the animals and crops. Once after that a few workshop runs later I hit 3k cowries, and was prompted to make the tools to unlock the final landmark area. I farmed the 2-3 mats I was insufficient on to build said landmark Came back 12 hours later, collected that, crops and leavings. Completed the vision for 'Hideaway of your dreams' got 5500 island xp and 6k cowries I'm now at 26,781xp at time of posting out of the required 41k to hit level 10.
I've been cycling between 3-4 decent spots (meaning not clumped up together like this but mount is not needed) to spread out the inventory, but mainly to keep my sanity in check.
Rank 8 and 9 in under 8hrs just today on the 4day of release. I can do 566 exp in 5mins just over 1000exp in 10mins tops . Rank 8 to 4hr and. 10mins tops
I'm rank five, taking my time with it. I really don't want these people maxing everything out in the first few days to go and complain to square enix that we need more stuff to do.
In case people that are considering doing this content are like wtf this is nuts grinding like this, you don't need to in order to level if you want to take it slower. The leveling benefits you get from gathering crops, gathering animal leavings, crafting/upgrading tools and facilities, and waiting for foraging expeditions and handicraft production with the workshops is super beneficial to get large chunks of experience, but all of these methods require you to wait real world hours or in the case of crops, 2 days. If you do some gathering and set these up and then wait, you can level in a decent period of time without hardcore grinding. Just in case you are wondering if this content requires you to no life it to get anywhere:) This is what I am doing and I am at rank 6 after 3 days and close to rank 7. This is of course only possible if you have not spent your seafarer's cowries on glamour from the get go.

Honestly, xiv is a game where it's really hard to actually run out of content While yes, crafting, gathering and combat have their relative caps, there's everything in the saucer, TT card added all the time, island sanctuary, mount/minion collecting, glamour grinding, base game and 3 expansions worth of relics, literal hours of sidequests, and so on. I'm kinda burnt out on FF not because there's nothing to do, but because there's so much to do.
@@flipnskater did you people forgot there is more than just two way to play this? (very low speed or speedrun) when people say "go with your own pace dont feel forced to min max", it meant go with your own pace not go with very low speed.
I'm half way through level 7, but just doing what I thought was logical and seem it wasn't that farfetched :) Although I have more important things to do than going the hardcore grind way to level to 10, by simply gathering mats, guess I just wont be max level as fast as some xD I would like that there were more customization for the housing.. Its kinda bland and would be nice if one could put a personal touch on it instead of this standard look/interior decor

But as someone who don't have a house or are in a FC with a house, the island could have been my way to be able to build my own little spot. But, yeah, as you point out, only difference from other peoples islands are the pets and locations of the workshops, granaries and landmarks.. Which is really not that much and a damn shame.

I am honest, i am not sure that there IS anything to enjoy. Its mindless grinding one way or another. So honestly i am doing it to bridge time and one i got the glams never touch that with a pole.
What fun! Can't get in! It's a lot like trying to buy a house in game... click, click, click over and over and over and over... and still can't get in! "Travel to my island." Ya sure! Server too busy because of a big shifting blob, a cluster of names/characters with that little pink "chair" by their names... using a ruler it shifts but is at times approximately 6 inches wide left to right and 2-4 inches top to bottom on screen. Bloody humbug! From post 6.2 login early yesterday and still after 5:30PM today absolutely worthless! ... ... until now!! Finally in!

I was lvl 10 at 1pm. My Trick and ist was little bit boring but effency, was Farming on a little Spot. It was 1200 routine in 10 minutes. So i had lvl 9 to 10 without everthing in 5 hours. But congratulation.
unless you mean 1200 xp in 10 mins not items lol. But his spot gets 150 per 10 mins / 1500 xp and I didn't even use dashes testing. So its actually a lot better. 1800 xp more per hour 🤔
how many Blue Stones i need for the next terrain? i,m lvl 8 and i think with lvl 9 i set free this one with the boulder. if its to much i think i offer my stones for the 3th Animal and Plant Terrain

@@annoxshishi-za2574 If you have the landmarks they increase groove with the workshop which in turn increases production. That get you more blue coins. If you have granaries the landmarks increase how much your workers will bring back from explorations. If you want to increase maximum blue coin output you need Efficiency bonuses and chaining them together.
or they could just maybe oh idk... not require a player base who are paying them a monthly subscription fee to have to spend more hours than the active job they are working to pay the subscription fee to continuously play the game to have to keep running back and forth collecting rocks in a game that's supposed to be entertainment for 10xp at a time, but I guess that's asking too much, if what I'm gathering is there's really no point for the place other than some cosmetics, a few exchange items and island expansion, then there really shouldn't be a reason to time-gate it so hard either, if someone wants to speed run the island in a few days why should I care that they are bored with nothing left to do afterwards when it was their choice to do so.
Here is another tip. Take it slow and don't grind. This content is limited and once you are done, you are done with the content for next few months. Take your time and enjoy the content.

"well when you rank up and get access to your tools upgrade them this will unlock access to mk.3 to make a new/upgrade site blah blah blah Why shouldn't I be spending my sea coweries? I think ninja shikuchi is better, but the passive speed doesn't matter because you have sprint and sprint overwrites it

Landmarks increase workshop groove , if you check it with 3 landmarks you'll see it's at 25 where it starts at 15
I also advise if u have a dancer / reaper the dash is a major time saver
Yeah! DNC is my default for side quests/event quests that don't give exp, and was a no-brainer for island sanctuary! I love the mobility.
Ninja has 2 dashes and passive movement speed!

You start off with a cap of 10, each one adds 5.
I have two landmarks and can go up to 20 groove.

Another small tip: use reaper if you've got it. Ingress is an excellent mobility skill that can cut down a lot of time and deals with terrain well.

I was lvl 10 at 1pm. My Trick and ist was little bit boring but effency, was Farming on a little Spot. It was 1200 routine in 10 minutes. So i had lvl 9 to 10 without everthing in 5 hours. But congratulation.

unless you mean 1200 xp in 10 mins not items lol. But his spot gets 150 per 10 mins / 1500 xp and I didn't even use dashes testing. So its actually a lot better. 1800 xp more per hour 🤔
how many Blue Stones i need for the next terrain? i,m lvl 8 and i think with lvl 9 i set free this one with the boulder. if its to much i think i offer my stones for the 3th Animal and Plant Terrain
You'll need 1500 seafare coweries for the 2nd expansion for the Pasture and Garden.
For the final area, you'll need 3000 seafare coweries.

@@annoxshishi-za2574 If you have the landmarks they increase groove with the workshop which in turn increases production. That get you more blue coins. If you have granaries the landmarks increase how much your workers will bring back from explorations. If you want to increase maximum blue coin output you need Efficiency bonuses and chaining them together.

I've been using reapers teleport personally. Using it to hit a node near the start of my loop then warp back to start the loop again.
Collect nodes on a controller. Much less cumbersome than M&K.
or they could just maybe oh idk... not require a player base who are paying them a monthly subscription fee to have to spend more hours than the active job they are working to pay the subscription fee to continuously play the game to have to keep running back and forth collecting rocks in a game that's supposed to be entertainment for 10xp at a time, but I guess that's asking too much, if what I'm gathering is there's really no point for the place other than some cosmetics, a few exchange items and island expansion, then there really shouldn't be a reason to time-gate it so hard either, if someone wants to speed run the island in a few days why should I care that they are bored with nothing left to do afterwards when it was their choice to do so.
