I really prefer that one at least for combat gearsets, for crafting/gathering gearsets i use the function included on the teamcraft website
I've been playing for years and use a lot of these tools, but this video has highlighted so much of the tools I didn't even know about. Zepla, you're an absolute font of knowledge and experience
Most people use Teamcraft these days but I'm still a devout Garland Tools user. I've been crafting since HW and Garland is what I started with and it's great.
One thing Garland tools really helped me with was glamour - I would type the name of an NPC I saw that I liked their gear and it would tell you exactly what they're wearing and where to get it
I use Teamcraft a lot, so here are some other things I've found it's really helpful for: 1. This doesn't give Good/Excellent conditions. This is worse if you're going to be doing things manually (you won't know when some abilities will proc), but is generally better for macros (because it assumes worst-case non-Poor conditions). 2. You can drag and drop the order of actions even AFTER you're "completed" the item. This is helpful for trying to find more efficient orders of actions. 3. You can save rotations and you can export as macro code. Saving rotations without macro is handy when you're working on things that are at the top of what your stats CAN craft (it serves as notes/reminder for you); saving WITH macro is helpful for crafting 1000 items for Ishgardian Restoration or collectables. 4. In addition to adding your stats, you can specify HQ mats (which ones and how many), food and drinks. Again, this can help you figure out if it's worth spending a bit extra for an HQ material or a food.
xenoveritas timers truly helped me out, maintenance poped up and I couldn't find anywhere how long it will go on for, but I came into this video just to watch you, didn't expect to learn something that is super useful and just what I needed. Thanks:)
I’m getting back into FFXIV and so I always looked for like a TH-camr who post content of it like you have those creators who focus on one thing like LoL channels I wanted one for FFXIV and I’m glad I found your channel cause it’s filling that position in for me
Thank you thank you thank you! These are amazing, I just started FF14 a week ago, And seeing all of these has really lifted a huge weight off my shoulders cause I was freaking out trying to find stuff and feeling very overwhelmed learning an entirely new MMO especially coming from WoW.
I knew some of these (2 or 3), but I've been thinking how badly I needed something like wowhead for 14. I feel all we get from this video is much better than that! Thank you so much for the value
Garland Tools is a godsend. It's my favorite database hands down. I'm always crafting HQ gear sets for jobs I'm leveling, so being able to create and organize crafting lists is indispensable!
Ariyala is also a really good resource for planning out gear builds for your jobs and seeing what your stats will be with those builds before and after materia/food. You can include every piece of gear available within whatever ilvl range you need, and you can see the stats for those gear pieces, “meld” materia to them to see how it will affect your stats, and even tells you where the gear comes from.
Things i use that are missing here are: Ariyala, that was the biggest "why isn't that here" for me. It lets you plan out gear sets and melds, but more likely when you search for any meld guide, bis list or whatever you'll get an Ariyala link. FFXIV Cactpot Solver, a smart little script that helps you with getting the most MGP out of the daily cactpot. and finally the FFXIV subreddit. This one is definitely a mixed bag. You find all sorts of useful information about the game in between a million self indulgiance, fanart posts. Also i prefer using FFXIV Hunt over the site you're suggesting. XIV hunt has all the spawn location for the weekly B ranks, plus information about every other hunt in the game.
I'm new to FFXIV and saw you video, thank you for making it. Very helpful! I love your Alpaca sweater! I grew up in Arequipa, Peru and wore them all the time, not as nice as yours, but always the most comfy!
I'm just sort of dipping my toes into this game again after a few years away from it, and beginner's guides like this help to remind me of all the fun stuff I used to do. Thanks! It's very helpful! By the way, I noticed you struggling a bit with the word oubliette. It's pronounced oob-lee-ETT. It's French for "little place of forgetting." You know that medieval trope where you're talking to the king, and he grows displeased with you and pulls a lever on his throne to open a trap door under your feet, and you end up falling down a chute into a cage full of bones where you're sure to end up starving to death (if you didn't already die from the fall) and becoming part of that pile of bones? You may have also seen something similar in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, where Jabba the Hutt would drop people down a trap door into the rancor pit when he was bored or displeased with them. That's what an oubliette is.
I personally always have a tab open on my phone for the Lodestone's Eorzea Database. If I'm looking for items, like skins for leather, or what dungeon a piece of gear comes from, I can type it into the search bar, and it'll bring up an entry for the item, which in the case for skins will say what drops it and give coordinates to where they can be found, or in the case of gear, what dungeon it can be found or how it's made. You can even search dungeons and find out which chest the item you are looking for will be in. There really is a TON of useful info there, and even if it's missing something in the main description, there are often times comments from users that give further details, as well as pictures of gear and mounts and such so you can get an idea of what to expect.
This was an insanely helpful video. I have been playing since 2013 on and off and it blows my mind that all these sites have existed without me knowing XD. I'm so excited to play around with them
Teamcraft is invaluable when trying to make a set of armor. I used it when I finally got my crafters to 80 so that I could gear out my other jobs. Making a list and seeing all the mats I needed made it so much easier than trying to organize it in my head or on paper, plus it will tell you all the ones you can buy to skip some of the grind as well as where to get the timed nodes.
I've been playing this game for several years and I've only ever used one website to date, which was some kind of tracker for sightseeing logs IIRC. When I actively played WoW I felt like so much content actually required some external help to know what you were supposed to even do half the time. But in FFXIV I've never felt the need because it's just such a lovely streamlined experience with excellent tooltips and tutorial popups for new things you encounter in the world. That said, I'll definitely be checking some of these out. Can't go wrong with having more tools at my disposal :3
Oh my jeezus... just started playing 2 days ago and my brain is melting. I think I'm going to go with the "learn as I go" method. Except I'll use the level unlock list.
I'm just migrating over from WoW (which I think I'm finally over) to FFXIV, starting 2 days ago. Your videos are such a huge help, especially when I know basically nothing about the game.
Your videos are so informative and entertaining to watch. I'm so glad I found your channel, otherwise I wouldn't know what to do. lol I've never played any games like ffxiv before and I only just purchased the game a month ago so I didn't know where to start. I had no idea what "msq" was so I would just do every side quest I saw. When I finally figured out that it meant "main story," I jumped right in and zoomed to get through msq so I could level up faster. Made it all the way to level 50 and other people would always tell me to turn my "tank stance" on. I had no idea what that was, of course so I just assumed it meant to hit as many things as possible so the others didn't get attacked.. I also thought the flower icon next to player's names meant that they had a lot of experience in game. Turns out that it's just meant for returning players who took a month long break or so from the game and came back.
These are exactly what I'm looking for. As someone who transitioned from WoW to FFXIV - it felt really odd not having more reference sites. THANK YOU!!!
Hey zepla , just wanted to say that I started ff14 after watching your vids. I've always been a big fan of final fantasy. I played ff7, ff8, ff9, ffx , ffx-2, 12 and 13 trilogy. I didnt really like ff15 and I wasn't too interested in mmorpg but ff14 is amazing . I love how they have the job system implemented like on older final fantasy games . My favorite class is white mage. I still got some learning to do and getting use to the controls but I like how it gets everyone involved .
Best thing about garland tools is that you can search for item you want for glamour and then look "similiar models". So for example you like that world of darkness skirt but want to dye it..there's list what shares model of it and where to get it.
That feature is a GODSEND. Whenever I see a nice piece I pop up the data, check to see if there's other equivalents, then be greatly disappointed I can't wear it with my healer glam.
@@AFKei some stuff is so weird. Like the lvl 80 facet caster gear shares model with...aiming gear from lvl 60 alliance?? Tho it does look good and fitting. But why did aiming have a wizard hat XD
Not even done with the video yet but thank you for this amazing list. I didn't even know what The Balance was yet but thank the 12 I learned before hitting endgame with my DRG. I really am glad you're a part of this community!
I have been looking for over a year for some of these sites you named off. Any time I try to google for the ff14 version of Wowhead or Icyviens I never find anything. Just scattered info and low quality sites. Learning about AkhMorning and Garland Tools was amazing. Thank you so much for this video!
I just hit lvl 32 on my starter 'class' and I was looking for FF14 resource websites that WoW has and this video has been an amazing help! I know Ill be referring back to this video often for a while!! Thank you
I cannot thank you enough. I'm new to this game and I had not heard about any of these sites, every time I search on google I find either a reddit thread or the eorzea database. This is amazing, thank you.
Thank you for this. As a new player it can be intimidating starting a new game sometimes. Knowing good resources for information is paramount, it's made my experience that much better.
Great Job Zepla ♥ I feel like these Websites and Discords should be more prominent in the FFXIV community. Even more so for beginners, since infos such as the ones you've shown in the video are so hard to find on your own ingame if you have no idea how to search for it. All those websites are (i would almost say) a must-have for every ffxiv gamer, because they just make your life ingame soooo much easier. finding the mats you need for a craft, keeping track of timed nodes, finding the perfect glam for your class and more. But what i love the most are the websites teaching you about class-rotations, fight-strategies and mechanics. I feel like FFXIV does a good job at showing you mechanics so by the time you've seen the 20th stack-marker, you usually know what to do....and then SE comes up with the great idea of changing it up xD But jokes aside, those websites help so much in getting better in the game and having a much easier time learning the fights or just get an idea of how others are playing. So thank you very much for this and I hope you can help even more people with directing them to these sources :D btw, I actually mostly use garlond tools for translations xD I am playing with the german client and can't describe how much it confuses me, when friends (who use the english client) tell me about some skills or rotations or items xD sometimes the names of these things are just so different, you can't quite piece them together. so searching the item via garlond tools and changing the language to german, shows me its german name quick and easy :D
Great video! Thank you for your content. I just switched over to FFXIV after 15 years on wow. Im a mythic raider and I push M+ but it just wasnt fun anymore. I feel I can find plenty of ways to push myself in FF all while having tons of new things to do.
I used Garland Tools for helping me figure out what I should be doing for quests, as well as figuring out where Fates should be popping at. I mainly use Team Craft nowadays to help me craft/gather. The list it creates is a lot easier to use than the one in Garland tools because I can hit a check mark when I gathered/crafted somethings. When i'm close to being done, if I see an item that has a dotted line around it, instead of a solid line, it means that I have not gathered/crafted something to finish that item. Unlike Garland tools Team Craft's website does show you both monster drops and vender's and their locations as well as their form currency. The timer for gathering in Team Craft is about the same as Garland Tools. The community rotation is extremely useful for crafting, with some modification if needed to the rotations is easy to do and can be saved and turned into an ingame macro that can make it so you can go walk off knowing what you will get to so long as you aren't lagging bad or did bad planning, I'm looking at you people that don't plan for poors.
As a relatively new player I find myself using Heavenswhere a lot when looking for Aether Currents, its honestly made my life easier when unlocking flying in newer areas.
Heavenswhere is also useful for a number of other things, most notably for looking up treasure hunt map locations or sightseeing logs. I use the map location feature a lot.

THANK YOU
Omg this is so useful. I think the problem I have had with FFXIV is that I just don't know where anything is. I always play the story of the expansion, but I tend to drop of shortly after I complete the main story, and only come back a couple times to finish the patch stories. Like, me trying to just figure where to get a certain item left me scratching my head, googling and searching everywhere. In the end I would find it, but it was like that with most things I wanted to find out. This might really change that. I think it's probably too late for me to really get into it in this expansion. I did recently resub, but I'm mostly just gonna prepare for Endwalker, and see how much I have time for besides that.
I have never played any MMO my entire quite long life. I watched a few of your vids and am now a level 22 arcanist. I like your passion, knowledge and humor. Keep up good work.
Wonderful video! I'm new to FFIV and played WoW for 15 years.... The game is overwhelming (in a good way), and these sites were just what I needed. Future AST inc!
Yo, started playing a few days ago after seeing so many people praising the game. Liking the game so far but will have to see when I get to harder dungeons at max lvl. Thanks for all the useful info so far !
There's a bit of a language barrier, but I say check out a site called "Housing Snap". It's in Japanese, but it's basically Eorzea Collection for housing. You can filter by ward, size, and even the scene (if you just wanna look for garden ideas for example).
I hadn't heard of any of these except Garland Tools and Gamer Escape >_> and I only know of those two because of googling stuff for fishing/gathering or my friends on Discord showing me Lahabrea in his speedo. The sites that I use are basically Cablemonkey's Hunt Maps for B-ranks every week, and then TH-cam for guide videos on Extremes/Savages if my static is behind the curve. Occasionally Ariyala's toolkit to compare gear.
13:23 - you can get around the adblock thing for catbecamehungry, it just requires some janky setup to do so... (ublock origin along with certain filter lists to prevent it from seeing that you're blocking their ads) I haven't seen an ad on there in years \o/
Garland's ffxivfisher is great for keeping track of multiple fish though (kinda like Garland Data vs gamerescape). Especially if you use the colors to make it so it only shows the fish you need. And it actually tracks weather, which ff14angler doesn't. Also all the stuff on ffxivfisher is clickable and links directly to the corresponding page on ff14angler if you need more info. :)
Hi Zepla, first timer to your content. Happened to came across it by chance (God blessed the algorithm) and I have been liking it so far. Been on and off FFXIV on Trial Account, but I think I'm ready to give it a go now. *Off to buy the Complete Edition*
This is great. I stopped playing wow for about a month now and i did use Wowhead alot. I never knew what website to use for FF14. This video is great. Thank you. I now subscribed and will bing all your video to learn more :)
Finally some websites to look into, I just jumped ship to FFXIV from WoW with the discounted complete edition offer and I'm a bit lost with some aspects of the game. Currently level 25 Arcanist and loving it so far, but still on solo mode with hope that I come across some friendly community.
I'm enjoying my Dragoon and the story so far. About done with ARR and hopefully close to starting Heavensward. I usually don't get into any collection stuff or crafting until I finish the story, which I have 3 expacs to go, prbly 4 by the time I get there! ha Enjoying the journey so far.
Concerning countdown timers, they're present in the game..... the Tomestones, for example, your currency count, has a "Reset" time that counts down the minutes and gives you the normal time the weekly reset is in (ex: 8/3 1am is the reset for Pacific time, so.... yeah, that's just a mention on checking when the reset is), as I pretty much am fully aware of when the week resets, smaller resets though, or ones that don't sync with server reset, that's a different case, and can see the need, but I wanted to bring up that one subject matter. Also, I found a site for R. Weapons, what quests need to be done, what gives you X,Y and Z, if it is a one time grind or repeatable, gets you through to the final Relic Weapon Form as well as who to buy the replicas from, so you could, stylize with it, if you so desired. ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Resistance_Weapons Link there.
There's a lot of cross over with Teamcraft and Garlandtools, I ended up on Teamcraft first so I'm more comfortable with it's gathering timers, lists, crafting sims and macro creators, but I do believe they're pretty equal all over.

this was probably one of the most enlightening videos I've ever seen for XIV. haha also nice sweater.
There's a comforting aspect of Zep's vods. it feels very warm and fuzzy
like we're all sitting around a fire with cups of cocoa
I use Teamcraft a lot, so here are some other things I've found it's really helpful for:
Great video as always Zepla 🎉. Your channel has always been a chill place to come to for a laugh and useful information.
Things i use that are missing here are:
Ariyala, that was the biggest "why isn't that here" for me.
XIV hunt has all the spawn location for the weekly B ranks, plus information about every other hunt in the game.
how the fell is the first time i'm hearing about Ariyala? i've been doing all of that on paper in a notebook 😭
I've been playing since 2.0 launch on ps4 and hardly ever heard of, let alone used most of these. Super useful and neat info.
OMG TY! We are doing E10 atm with our group and the shadows make perfect sense now with Katori Mizuno's power point guide.
I've been playing for years now and I've never heard of salted xiv..... thank you so much
I've been playing this game for several years and I've only ever used one website to date, which was some kind of tracker for sightseeing logs IIRC.
Been playing for over a week..brain is still melting with the overload of learning
Just getting into FFXIV, this is definitely a big help. Thank you so much!
Great Job Zepla ♥
I feel like these Websites and Discords should be more prominent in the FFXIV community. I feel like FFXIV does a good job at showing you mechanics so by the time you've seen the 20th stack-marker, you usually know what to do....and then SE comes up with the great idea of changing it up xD
But jokes aside, those websites help so much in getting better in the game and having a much easier time learning the fights or just get an idea of how others are playing. So thank you very much for this and I hope you can help even more people with directing them to these sources :D
btw, I actually mostly use garlond tools for translations xD I am playing with the german client and can't describe how much it confuses me, when friends (who use the english client) tell me about some skills or rotations or items xD sometimes the names of these things are just so different, you can't quite piece them together. so searching the item via garlond tools and changing the language to german, shows me its german name quick and easy :D
It's totally offtopic but i'm just melting listening to her. Her voice is so calming and pleasant xC
I've been playing for 1.700+ hours and have only just discovered some of these sites. This was really helpful. Thanks!!
Great video! Thank you for your content. I just switched over to FFXIV after 15 years on wow. Im a mythic raider and I push M+ but it just wasnt fun anymore. I feel I can find plenty of ways to push myself in FF all while having tons of new things to do.
Thank you. I just made the jump to FF after 15 years of WoW and was literally looking for websites for help. Also found your channel and subscribed!
Thank you SOOO much for this video!! i have been playinf for years & had i known about all these sites... my life on FF would have been ALOT easier & not wasted soo much time!!
THANK YOU!!!!
I have no glamour space left and now I'm going to be looking through Eorzea Collection even more now. Thanks for all of the useful links, Zepla :)
Thank you so much! This is exactly what i need. Your Guides helping me from the start so it was really fun playing FFXIV "with you" instead of painful not knowing things :D Thanks !
I was 3 quest away from HW. Sped home picked up a 6 pack of buds and was ready to settle in for the big night. But there’s maintenance till 3am. I am sad. Great video.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I feel like you actually may have read my comment on your previous video. This is awesome information. I really appreciate it.
This is so helpful! Ive been casually playing FF14 a long time now and know about Gamer Escape and Eorzea Collection yand FFXIV housing but some of those sides will make my achievement grind/ collectionist journey so much easier! Big thx :D
This video was incredibly helpful and I just wanted to say thank you. Your content is so helpful and I can't thank you enough for all the time you put into these videos!
As others have said, for people looking to do their Fishing Log (especially Big Fish), Carbuncle Plushy's fishing tracker is absolutely invaluable. The data is a little easier to see than CBH, and is collated and condensed rather than letting anyone upload stuff.
i didnt struggle but i also did all of the hall of the novice read all my tooltips and read through all the help provided by the game im now learning extreme fights blindly taking advice from others to develop the skills and communication required to fully do something smoothly and am starting to work in DRS groups
I recently started playing FFXIV and lemme jus say your content is AMAZING!
This video is incredibly helpful. I’ve been playing a little bit now but am still not through msq or max level and knowing all these tools exist will help me when I get further invested and learned! Thank you!
10/10 great video I recently got hocked into the ff14 quicksand and have been playing the trial as annoying as it is to find certain items that I can't buy on the marketplace. cuz of trial thankfully u came along with this il 100% be useing most of these till ff14 gos on sale
Awesome idea for a video. Everything I need all in one spot! I am coming up to the end of post-msq quests and going to be getting into crafting and EVERYTHING else in the game xD so this is going to be SO helpful!
Garland Tools is an *incredible* resource. In about half an hour I went from "where the hell do I go" to "so this is exactly what I need to optimize my gear" and it's awesome.
Heavenswhere is really good too. We use it for maps alot. If you're having a hard time finding your map location, this is the website to go to. Love your vids!
I've been playing this game since 1.0 and have never heard of some of these sites. Thank you so much for the information
OMG! Now I know how to use this!! Thank you! I needed to have stuff show up on the map so I know where to go to get it.
OMFG you are a life safer, I looked about to find info and most has been out of date or just confusing then I see this check out you just made things a lot easier for my FFXIV experience. totally adore you and yep Most of these sites so much better than the wow resources I seen over the years. THANK YOU
Omg this is so useful.
Started 2 Weeks ago with ff14 and am lvl 64 dancer right now. This was a very informative and helpful video, thank you :)
As always, you’re a treasure! Thank you Zepla!
As I'm new to FFXIV, this is all great info for me! thank you!
Great video, Zepla! I'm approaching level cap for the first time and the end game is very overwhelming so this is a great place to start!
Thank you for all of your help. This is invaluable to me and my son, as we are just getting started with FF XIV :)
I haven't seen anyone mention Universalis yet. Very useful if you need to quickly check the prices of something.
I love your channel so much! I just got back into it after 2 years not playing and this channel has been a blessing 💖
I just lost 20 minutes on Eorzea collection (again) because of you XD awesome vids very helpful !
There's a lot of cross over with Teamcraft and Garlandtools, I ended up on Teamcraft first so I'm more comfortable with it's gathering timers, lists, crafting sims and macro creators, but I do believe they're pretty equal all over.
