I must admit that I'm not really motivated to start pouring my own soft plastics BUT I REALLY REALLY like the idea of recycling all this plastic. Anything to make our passion greener is always welcome!! I will definitely buy some recycled soft plastics if they were available on the market... Go job to steer people in the right direction.

I went the whittling route and have made about 15 baswood lures of varying sizes that are all hand painted and coated in D2L epoxy. I love the DIY lure videos with plastics and i might just have to do this next. Keep up the lure making videos 👍
I've been watching another channel (don't hate me) that does soft plastic molding of fishing lures. He preheats his molds using either a heat gun or by placing them on an electric griddle. Thought you might find that tip useful. I haven't tried lure making myself but am interested in it. I'm looking forward to seeing more lure making in your shop.

Awesome Jay! Baits look great. Do you every have problems with bubbles? I guess you are new to this world. My first pour had lots of bubbles. I don’t have a vacuum pot yet.
Freaking good idea!!! They are more bass guys than multi species BUT I'm sure they'll do great footage (used to be in front of a lens and just nice guys).

I’ve seen guys keep their molds on a heated griddle. Helps keep that plastic hot. Check out Worlds Worst Fishing too. He has a great channel with some really sweet molds!
For safety's sake, please double check the respirators that you are using. I believe that the concern with this type of work is vapor inhalation. The cartridges on Sam's respirator do nothing to remove vapors (only particulate). It looks like you, Jay, have cartridges that remove vapors. I am not an expert though.

Using particulate cartridges for VOCs. Consider using a different cartridge in your respirator to be safer! Noticed Sam was wearing P100 cartridges

Jig making would be cool. I have moulds for weights and jigs but I have no idea where to start or where to get materials.
She needs catridges, p100s only filter dust. Need something to filter toxic vapours for plastic, in the future. 😊 Great video as always.❤️

When injecting make sure you fill extra plastisol in the injection port. The plastic shrinks when it cools, and could cause malformed baits.

Hey Jay, wouldn't using a heat gun on the mold speed up the heating process, make it easier quicker?

How do you clean out the squirt tube? And the mixing bowl afterwards?
After the plastic cools, it’s just peels off no problem. No residue at all.
Look at worlds worst finishing and marling baits they are both very informative and fun to watch
jay you need to check out barlows tackle they have do it molds and other things for way cheeper than normal

You can add scent! Or make sure the baits you’re melting down are scented.
You should have told everyone to use a microwave safe mixing container, some people will forget that important detail.

p100 filters don't work for vapors. You are getting as much protection as not wearing that mask!
