Another big thanks goes to Buwizz, who supplied me with these amazing Bluetooth battery boxes for this project. Check them out here: buwizz.com/ This video took way too much time to make, but I wanted to build “The Lego Tank” we all dreamed of making as kids. At least, that was my intention. What turned out instead is an overengineered beast with too many mechanisms that failed frequently-especially the shooting mechanism, which took me over a year to build and failed a lot while filming. That’s why I hesitate to make instructions for my builds. I nearly broke my fingers trying to put the parts back together! Anyway, thanks for watching and reading. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! And please, don’t destroy pictures of your mother-in-law.
Well its either that or we invest in the front-grill chainsaw attachment. Or the fender flamethrowers. It just makes more economic sense to give the turrets some more range of motion. Keeps the front cleaner too. The blood kind of atomizes instead of spraying all over the mechanisms and stuff.
No ads, no screaming intro, just pure engineering. I've never really gotten into lego engineering but I love seeing the engineering and mechanisms behind tanks and other complex machinery. This absolutely warrants a subscription from me!

LOL I can't believe the quality of that custom rotating jig you built for working on the firing mechanism. Totally in awe over here; no shortcuts, no compromises, this video and creation are top echelon. Bravo.

I have never wanted to build anything LEGO more than this! Wow, if only I had these parts, controls, motors back when I was young. We had a single motor that ran off of 3 type C batteries in a stick and it was about worthless. This though, man, you really have anything you want at your disposal. I watch you build and wonder how quickly your mind really interprets the needed changes and how long they actually take. I absolutely know you are smart as heck and probably have three engineering degrees and a PHD in Socket Science, lol. This was stellar!
Not only is this one of the coolest projects I've seen, it's being presented in one of the most well-produced lego engineering videos I've ever watched
The best youll get is instructions. Which you can (meticulously) copy from the video. With cheap bricks (The motor bricks will never be cheap, 20$ minimum for each) you can anticipate a full build to cost roughly 800 dollars on the low end. And 3000 on the high end. Depends where you source your parts, if you care about Lego purity or not, and if you are okay with secondhand motor parts.
Wow, that was quite impressive and technically complex. I don't see it as over-engineered even, because each complex part has a clear function necessary for remote operation without having to fiddle with anything. I wonder how powerful this design could be if you were to use actual metal and composite-plastic parts and proper RV radio systems.
You think this bro, just went in unprepared and made a tank without knowing it instructions, the whole point of this channel is showing what he discovered and showing you the steps so you could possibly build it
@@Logga15 I moreso mean how it's presented. The camerawork and editing is really well-done, and I feel like a lot of it could only have been done by carefully planning for it before filming
I feel like if I just had a glossary of physics and engineering terminology I could basically get an engineering degree from this. It's the same mechanisms used in real vehicles and an excellent demonstration of how they work and why they are used.
@@John_Smith_86 Alot of those are not things too applicable to Lego however. Lego consists of 1-3 materials, mostly ABS. Legos cannot be water-tight and are assembled via friction based interlocking, which means aerodynamics and fluid dynamics are kind of meaningless at higher speeds where they become more important, the parts would just sheer off. And thermodynamics doesnt really apply since these mechanisms dont run off of combustion reactions or the like, but simple electricity. Maybe if there was a solar panel, but thats still a weak demonstration that would only show power consumption metrics. Without bricks being airtight, you cannot meaningfully make a combustive system or measure it. Potentially with the pneumatic tubes, but thats been done already.

The only reason this man hasn't used his powers for supervillainy is because this amount of LEGO already _requires_ millions of dollars, so it's an unsustainable business model.
@Maninjort kinda doubt it. If you know, one particular small detail that you absolutely need for your build, can be presented only in one obscure lego set, and theres just one detail in this set, but you need like 20. I'd bet if you want to build this tank, you should buy at least about 5000$ of lego, of course he has it through years of collecting lego, but still
I'd love to see a followup video of the tank going over more obstacles. The suspension system looks incredible and I'd love to see it pushed to its limits.
