Between the 6 months of winter and the 4 months being stuck inside because of wildfires each year I'm strongly debating picking up a whole load of bait making materials lol gotta do something fishing related one of these days 😅
Nice video with some great information! Appreciate you sharing! I'm not a bait maker, but enjoy watching others create them. #AggressivelyAverageAnglers rocks!
In addition to its already impressive versatility, the Speed Worm can also be cut into two separate pieces. The cut-tail end makes a Perfect Grub, and the front end can be an anchor point for a Tail-Spinner...
Question I haven't seen an updated video this one was 8 months ago any new findings or anything? You have me quite intrigued to start pouring my own neds
Another great vid, Nerds. I look forward to coming along on your bait making journey. Plastics is the gateway lure making drug. Jigs and airbrushing and flies, oh my. 😂 If you live in a more humid climate or plan on pouring when it is raining out, a vacuum chamber is a must. Moisture bubbles are much worse than air bubbles from over stirring/shaking (which more often than not end up cooking off during the heat up). Anchor does just fine when using for injection. I've found I prefer the spout on Pyrex brand for hand pouring applications.
This is awesome, I’m 24 from Alaska been fishing since I was 2 and never knew people could make soft baits at home, it would be awesome if this became as popular as tying your own flies. Gonna get my own equipment when I can.
I’ve seen 3 different hardnesses for their basic plastic mix. Which did you guys try out first? Also can you add salt with this for increased fall rate. Or
If I have the molds, the injector , microwave and cup, I’m using old baits what else do I neeed to reuse the baits and make them?. Do I need some of like worm oil or. I need help
Nope, but getting ready to. Paul, those were excellent tips! I'm glad you covered everything you would need in between. More often than not, I find myself diving into something only to realize I was missing key elements to complete the job effectively. This is also the equivalent of f*@$#%g around and finding out. Thanks again Paul!
This is a random idea but has anyone ever done glow in the dark baits? Or maybe some sort of color that changes and reacts to different water temperatures. Like cold it would be one color and when hot it turns the next!
What would your total investment money wise in this particular video . I am very interested in starting doing this as a hobby. Look forward to your response. 17:4917:4917:49
Basically this hobby is if you have 500 extra dollars to blow away sadly I don’t have enough money 😞 if I did I would love to start doing it *looks like I’m stuck buying Walmart clearance worms*💀
Man, I’ll stick to five dollar bags from the store haha this vids cool but turned me right off I ain’t spending hundreds and hundreds to make worms worth a buck or less each. It’d take fifteen summers to break even lol. I wanted to do this til I realized you need a loan from the bank to start it up. They’re essentially just adult creepy crawlers.
This is worth it if you have a lure idea that does not have a similar alternative. All the soft plastics I use are very specific and do it molds does not have them available.
@@Ninj_SRG sure if you have that to spend to get a mold so you can have a different color or shape .i wouldnt fish arent like that. thats to catch fishermen. looks fun. pumpkin or similar, black, white is all you need if youre talking soft stuff and bass and itd be near impossible to find a shape different enough to matter. i spend my money my way though i wouldnt judge if someone spent ten thousand. i guess if you could find a way to get your own mold doneyou could have fun with it for just a few hundred id do that
@@NigiriKnight oh I don’t really bass fish. I fish for inshore saltwater and salmon/steelhead. In regards to soft plastics there are some ideas I have that are not available in the market and would probably do very well. A custom cnc mold is only 2-300 anyways
Have you tried making your own soft plastics?
I gotta learn how to catch fish first 😂
Yes.
I am very interested in it but I have no money lmao.

I am going to start

Do it!
@@aaanglers haha…Do-It
Go for it I think I might pick some stuff up to try my hand at it
😂. I was thinking the same thing this past winter. The New England winters didn’t feel so damn long before I picked up fishing again.
This channel is painfully underrated man. Loving y'all's stuff
🙌thanks!
Always makes you feel better watching others make the same mistakes or do the same things you did to know it's not just you that did it that way
You’re not alone!
Thanks for talking about the dual colors/ injectors
Very informative plus your funny as hell! I'm looking to possibly start making my own so I appreciate your detailed video brother.
What type of plastisol do you recommend for senkos?
depends on how you want to fish them. We used the soft plastisol from Do It
Good stuff, I design and 3D print my own molds for my baits. Works very well
Nice!
I'm a 13 year old starting a business and this helped a lot thank you so much!
I also use an electric griddle to keep my molds warm. Helps the plastisol flow better. Keeps it from rapid cooling and not fully filling the cavity.
im in ninth grade but that was still kinda funny 😆

We did the kit on do it molds website
@@aaanglers ok thanks

To be honest, we never have time to pour plastics…
Thank you for going through this and sharing.
could i 3d print my own moulds? would they stand up to the heat if made with ABS? i think they might.

Noted and stealing the Pyrex idea sorry yall can have it now

We did the soft baits and no salt. It can damage your injector
Good informative vidoe chief
Loved the video and those good time vibes keep up the good work
Ps. To the negative dude if you need and awkward bro hug just say it we'll help
not even 30 sec in i noticed the duck decoy and turkey feathers lol
🤙
What are those MB stickers on your cabinet? I saw the dead skull one it looks really cool!
I went to Barnes & Noble to get some measuring spoons. They referred me to their automotive department. Still searching…..
Now this is funny… much respect brother… keeping it real, with a little humor 👍
Do the zman type plastics melt down well with other stuff like zoom? Also, do you retain any of the elasticity of something like zman being remelted?
You can’t melt them together. They sell elaztech style plastic.
@@aaanglers copy all

Do it molds

They say stabilizer is ideal for reusing plastics, but we are noobs so…. Check out worlds worst fishing
@@aaanglers you think if I microwave soft plastics once in my microwave that I couldn’t use it for food?
@NightRiderOG i wouldn’t
Another banger

Hahaha so true! Anything to avoid that fifth trip to Home Depot
I like to cook mine in an RV in the desert.
I like crawfish mold

I think Ive seen them done before, pretty rad!
@@aaanglers yeah random thought 💭
Can I make some bigger baits with this kit
I want to make my own lures
Inflation is being mean and I love fishing
You can if you get the right molds
Hey would you be able to put all the ingredients/materials needed in the bio or underneath this comment?
This is a starter kit from Do it molds plus a 1000 watt microwave, temperature laser, knives and anchor measuring cups
Don't buy a new microwave just go get a 1000+watt from a thrift store that works.
Btw the mixing tools, measuring spoons, measuring cups ect. Can just about always be found at a thrift store and even dollar stores to save money.
Facebook marketplace picked up a 900 watt for $30
Nice!
*Me making soft plastic baits*
Neighbor - yeah, he’s definitely making drugs.
Hahahahahaha
Breaking Bad for sure
Red and June bug
With gold flake
Is the kit worth the 225$?
To get started when you aren't sure what to buy, yes. If you know what you want, then you can just order what you need.
Where’s this podcast
In our Podcast archive playlist. We did a few with Do It Molds and with Debos Fishing.
Me in 8th grade trying to sell my own baits
I’m in the same boat😂

About $300-500 depending on how many molds you get
Please add in some open pours in your video.

Do it molds
I never seen someone use a mask when doing this but the smell is pretty harsh
How much will everything cost. Not including the microwave
Around 250-500 depending on the number of molds you get
How much would everything and a standard 5 inch 5 cavity mold cost?
you talk too much. cool down your engine
Never
