Mud Control Using Wood Chips Spread Using SR3 Landscaping Rake and Skid Steer In Throw-Away Pasture

In this video, I discuss how I deal with mud in pastures to reduce mud fever on horses during fall through beginning of summer using wood chips. Wood chips are dumped and spread using the SR3 landscape rake by ABI Attachments with a self-leveling blade and a skid steer. The SR3 landscape rake on a skid steer is a great tool to push and level wood chips. Although other attachments may work, the SR3 does a great job and there is no comparison using this multi-functional tool. Wood chips and stump grinding be used to resolve mud issues for livestock owners. Eventually, wood chips break down and need to be removed. Having equipment to remove aged material is essential for your success in using wood chips. Wood chips work great at feeding areas and between gates where traffic of the animals is extensive. If mud is an issue, give wood chips a try.
