    TOOLS:
    Flathead Screwdriver - amzn.to/2RAjTlU
    Multimeter (optional) - checking continuity - amzn.to/3o1T5qw
    You can easily fix this yourself. Please be careful of the rotating fan and the electricity. Use common sense and turn off the switch and breaker if you go into the housing the exhaust.

    Nice fix! I bet that happens a lot bc I’ve let it hang there when cleaning the fan with some compressed air (computer can style). I’ll remember to unplug it or support the light I’m the future.

    What’s that small light we see at the beginning of the video over the Broan name? Was it your camera light setup?

    • @MCFIXIT

      It was loose by just a little bit. I’m guessing from the previous owners of the house. They can get stained and slip out over time due to gravity as well.

    MC Fix it, thanks for this video. My Mom has a Broan 750 exhaust fan combo light and night light unit. Fan was operating normal. Either bulb was working. Tried new bulbs, same issue. Removed the wingnut from the bulb assembly and re-connected that 3 prong (computer board type - white/black connector cable. Walla! Both bulbs powered on just fine now. Thanks again. Paul

    • @MCFIXIT

      Sounds like it could be faulty wiring either in the light or even going to the light

    If you can’t twist the nut off by hand what do you suggest? Mine is really on there holding the plate to the ceiling.

    • @MCFIXIT

      An adjustable wrench will work well. I think mine was about 1/4 inch in size. A basic pair of pliers would work too!

    It fixed my problem until I put the nut back on the post. Without the nut the bulb lights. With the nut, no light. I was very careful not to pull on the cord and loosen it from the receptacle. Any suggestions?

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m guessing there’s still some plug slippage from the outlet once it’s all going back together. You could try this - Turn off your power at the electrical panel. Then use needle noise pliers and bend the prongs on the plug slightly together. Then plug it in. Then turn on power at the panel and test it.

    For these type of bathroom fans is there a light already in the fan or you have to install a light to the fan

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the model. Some do some do not.

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they may even make a kit that has the ability for a light to be added. I check online for that though

    Hi, I have the same bathroom ceiling fan. My light works until I use a led daylight bulb. Any ideas what's going on with that?

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting! Do you know what brand the vent fan is? How old would you think it is. I wonder if it’s something with the fan especially if it’s really old. Have you tried a basic bulb?

    • @kennethhughley1611
      @kennethhughley1611 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MCFIXIT It's a Broan. Looks just like the one in the video. It's an old model when I use a regular bulb it lights up. When I use the Home Depot daylight bulb it won't.

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very interesting. I’ve never heard of that problem. Is it a low wattage led bulb?

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kennethhughley1611 I wonder if there's either something wrong with that particular brand bulb with this type of unit. Do you have another type of bulb you could try to see if it works? (even if you have to pull it form another fixture in your house)

  • @EWH87
    @EWH87 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I did these steps and didn’t fix it. I plugged the light into an outlet and the light fixture works just doesn’t when I plug it back into the fan. Any suggestions?

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here's the first thing I'd do... Do you have a volt meter? If so, test to both of the outlets to see if you are getting proper voltage. You might have a wiring issue.
