You'll need to buy a replacement duct connector for your specific exhaust fan that has the damper inside. Sometimes you can install them after you remove the motor by slightly bending the pIastic damper and clicking the sides into place. You should be able to tell if that's the case when you purchase the new duct connector. If not, you might be able to replace it from the attic, or you'll need to remove the entire fan housing from the ceiling in order to remove the old duct connector and replace it. Hope that helps.
I have a Nutone 663 L fan model from the late '80's with an integrated light. I replaced the motor and fan once before many years ago and just replaced it again about two week ago. It sounds louder than before the replacement with a loud humming sound. The inner metal shield and outer grill are held in by a bolt and wingnut, not springs. Without them installed, the fan doesn't make the humming noise. With the inner shield and grill installed it runs normally for about 5 minute and then kicks into a fairly loud hum. Tried different tightening levels with the wingnut, but in the past it just worked in with use until the humming noise went away. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this from the beginning rather than having to wait for it to break-in? Thanks!

Who should you call if your exhuast fan in the powder room on the entry level of the house is leaking in the summer? No rain. It's been a dry summer. The fan spits water when you turn it on. Leaks driplets when off.
If the “flapper” is broken and it’s letting air in and out, how do you replace just that? Does the whole unit have to be removed and replaced?

I installed the nutone work. Power is going to it, i tried the Bluetooth switch within 3 minutes . Led never turned on
