  • In this video I shoot my father's Colt 1911A1 that he began to customize, and compare it to his Kimber Pro Crimson Carry II. The Kimber hated the 200gr SWC cast bullet reloads my father left, so I tried them in his only other 1911 to see how they did.

    That target on the lower right would be better for testing. I recommend a piece of square black paper to aim at, maybe about 2.5" to 3" square at 25 yards.
    That pro carry is not only a commander size (actually a tiny bit shorter) but it has alloy frame so it is a little bit lighter than the full size gun. Under good conditions I think that Pro Carry will do a bit better with ball ammo. You might need a little more stable rest- something for the gun to set on and something for the bottom of your hand to set on.
